We are located inside the Park, our guests DO NOT require to get the peak hour reservation for the Park entry.

This beautiful home is centrally located within Yosemite National Park.
Glacier Point is 10 miles from the home,
Yosemite Valley is 13 miles away
and the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias is approx. 30 minutes away.
In the winter, Badger Pass Ski Area is a short 10 miles away.

You can quickly and easily access the many day hiking opportunities off of the Glacier Point Road from this location. Catch a sunset from the top of Sentinel Dome with your picnic and wine or rise early and see the sun rise from the spectacular Taft Point, an easy 1 and a half mile hike in from the Glacier Point Road.

This home is a duplex, the upstairs is a 2 bedroom 2 bath unit and the lower unit is a 1 bedroom 1 bath unit.
The kitchen of this home is fully equipped for cooking your meals and the upstairs sunny deck has a gas grill for barbeques.

This quiet location offers a peaceful respite from the rest of the park visitors. There are many old logging roads in this community for mountain bikers and an historic restored fire lookout nearby for a nice evening walk.

There is no reliable cell phone service in this area or at our home. We have limited internet with WiFi (see other section for internet limitations). We have a video library.

The driveway to this home has a short steep approach and is narrow. You must be able to back up when exiting but if you go slow it is quite doable.
The parking lot has a narrow, one-way entrance that accommodates 3 cars total. This unit includes 2 parking spaces.
To ensure smooth parking for everyone, please communicate with guests from the other unit when needed.

There are 20+ stairs leading up to the entrance of the unit. Please take this into consideration if mobility is a concern.

Very cutely decorated (older) house. VERY close and easy to get to the park. But the steps up into the house were challenging - ESPECIALLY with luggage! Host very responsive and quick with our requests! Would stay again

Honest Review - This is the place you book when you canā€™t get a reservation in Yosemite and you want to go to Yosemite. The drive to Yosemite Valley is 35 minutes of twisty roads which isnā€™t fun to do every day however it is the closest you can get without staying in the valley. Parking at the unit can be an issue because the driveway is shared so it is tight but manageable as long as you only have 1 car. As for the unit itself, what you get is an adequate place to stay- a 3 out of 5 stars. Reasonably clean and outfitted but fairly dated and run down- bulbs out, water filter (well water) not working, coffee machine and coffee but no filters, peeling paint on trim, old yellowed lampshades, tub plumbing difficult to operate and the water is just warm, old buckling carpet, kitchen cabinet hardware missing, ceiling fan that sounds like its on its last legsā€¦ Basically a place in need of some TLC and time worn upgrades especially for what you pay. To gain entry to the unit you have to go up 34 stairs so be aware of that especially since you are at 6000 feet! There are no gas stations around and the nearest market is 30 minutes south. If you are in the valley (as you probably will be), there is a store called the Village Market that has a surprisingly good selection which is convenient since you are likely to be there already but it is a bit more expensive.On the whole, itā€™s adequate. Itā€™s a far cry from other experiences I have had renting vacation places. Itā€™s just ok.

Do NOT Stay Here - Hazardous and Disgusting!This rental in Yosemite West is an absolute nightmare. From the moment you arrive, youā€™re greeted by a broken stair step literally resting on loose concrete blocks a serious safety hazard. Itā€™s a lawsuit waiting to happen.Inside, things only get worse. The entire place smells musty and foul, likely due to years of neglect. There is no air conditioning, which is unacceptable in hot weather. The kitchen is full of broken utensils, and the bathroom floor is a disaster ripped linoleum, broken tiles, visible fungus growth, and a leaking shower faucet.The second bathroom was even worse, with soaked, stinking carpet. When I contacted the property manager immediately upon check-in, I was told it was due to a faucet leak, but thatā€™s clearly false. Based on the odor and other guest reviews, it seems more likely the toilet overflowed and soaked the are truly disgusting.To top it off, the bedding was stained with what appeared to be dried mucus or boggers. My family was so disturbed and disgusted that we couldnā€™t sleep all night and checked out a full day early.This place is not just unclean itā€™s dangerous and uninhabitable. It should be removed from any rental platform immediately. Stay here and you risk your health, sanity, or safety. Avoid at all costs.

Stairs and Parking are an issue

Property involves 2 sets of stairs to get to the front door and two sets to get to the living area. Parking is narrow and you have to back out downhill with little room between bushes and the neighbor's car. This rental also needs some upkeep inside. This rental was adequate but not worth the money. I would not recommend.

Too many problems to List.

We booked this property for two nights we were so unhappy with the property we left a day early and rented a hotel at an additional expense. The property is in disrepair parking is a nightmare, unless you have a compact car and even then it would be a challenge, but having a full size pick up was nearly impossible. Air conditioning was a portable air conditioner for the whole entire flat. The screen door was ripped so we could not have the door open or bugs or animals could get in. There was chunks of sheet rock missing. There was tiles missing in the bathroom. I messaged the host and let them know and I still have not received any response from them so please be aware if you are looking at this property.

Yosemite West is a great location. The check in process was easy and the host was responsive. The reason for a 4 rating vs 5 is the house is in of maintenance and upkeep. Outside, the front stairs need repaired. Inside, there is water damage in smaller bathroom, holes in kitchen ceiling, missing cabinet door, ripped sliding door screen, etc. No A/C in this house and with 95 degree days, the host did arrange for an A/C unit in the master which helped. Many of the directions posted in the house are dated and not accurate. Lastly, the online listing says there is a couple that lives in the downstairs unit. Itā€™s actually a rental and you have to make parking arrangements with the other renters because the driveway is narrow. Overall, the location is good so I guess thatā€™s what youā€™re paying for, but I would not recommend this rental. There are many other properties in Yosemite West.

Shabby Cabin

This place was not at all what it was posted to be. Directions were posted to open windows for cooling the place down but several windows were missing screens and the sliding door had no lock just a piece of wood to secure it. The screen door was torn out from across the bottom of the door and up to the handle. The showers were moldy and cold. No hot water like warm for three days. No privacy glass so the workers above at the other property had full view into the shower area. Kitchen had no wash towels and many things were broken doors and other items were less than par. Pictures were not accurate as to what was there. Too many steep and rickety steps to get into the apartment. My parents are older 80 and 86 and the atairs were a challenge. The rails were not safe and at one point there was no rail to turn the corner to the next flight of stairs. Very very unsafe. As for supplies no extra paper towels and only one extra roll of toilet paper. Not very pleased at all.

Great location, great place to stay

This house is located about as close to Yosemite as you can be, and is a great place to stay. The beds are super comfy, the kitchen had everything we need for what cooking we did, the neighborhood is quiet, and it was clean! The wifi may not be what you're used to at home, but we didn't come here to spend time on our phones.

Wonderfulnlocation, beautiful property, don't tell anyone.

This was the perfect stay. I hate to give it the glowing review I want because I want and keep it out little secret, but we absolutely love this rental. The location was perfect, the view is spectacular from the side of a mountain, the place was clean, warm comfortable, well apportioned with everything we needed. It really felt like home and our host was wonderful. Communicative, honest, straightforward with a great design sense. I could go on and on but no complaints and one request: don't tell anyone else.

The place was good, clean. There were multiple small issues: 1. Multiple bulbs in the Master bedroom needed replacement. It was replaced after we messesged. 2. The cooler in the guest bedroom was not working well and the person came to help didnā€™t know how to add water to make it work. We figured out after struggling for few hours. It was a super hot day. 3. Kitchen napkins are not there. Was brought after we asked. 4. After we were done, finding the garbage dumpster that works was very hard. Went searching for one and ended up not finding the one that worked with the code given on the app. The instructions between what was in the house and app was not consistent. We carried the garbage all the way with us as there were long line of cars in curry village. We were told later that we could have left it inside the house. Overall, we could have had better stay if these issues were handled better.

This home was very comfortable and clean. It had everything we needed and more. We would highly recommend. The Wi-Fi is now Starlink and it worked great! Nice surprise!

Comfortable stay for family, within Yosemite

We have stayed at a number of locations, both just outside and within Yosemite. This house was an easy 40 minute drive from Yosemite Valley Lodge, Mist Trail or Yosemite Falls. It was spacious, comfortable and had all necessary amenities. For a family, it was easily the best option.

This was the perfect location for us during our visit to Yosemite NP. It had everything we needed. We did notice that the sound carries between the floors (there is another unit below) but other than that we were very pleased.

Excellent Property in Excellent Location

Our family really enjoyed our time in this property. It was clean and comfortable. Showers were powerful, and having two full bathrooms was great. I appreciated the AC units in the house. Kitchen was well appointed and we could make all meals we wanted to. Additionally, I requested a couple of things to make our stay more enjoyable and they were all over it, acting right away to make my stay better. I greatly appreciated the responsiveness. Overall, this was a five star stay and the host was great. I do have a couple of notes for those who visit after us: 1) The arrival instructions mention a yellow house with blue trim. In reality It's definitely brown as of the time we came. 2) You may not be able to depend on the WiFi, so plan accordingly. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but we had some school assignments to upload and the satellite internet simply didnt work for most of the stay. The satellite usage quota was used up by the time we got there and it really struggled where basic web pages timed out woth slow load times. It did finally work the last morning. 3) We really enjoyed spending time on the deck, but the views of the valley are obscured by trees. Still a wonderful deck and the peaceful wooded atmosphere is really great. But you may want to temper your expectations of the view, as it is limited.

Convenient, comfortable but a few caveats

This property is ideally located for all activities at Yosemite national park. It is about 20 minutes from the valley in a private subdivision inside the park. The rental itself is smaller and older than many of the other vacation homes in the neighborhood. It is perfectly adequate if you can overlook the rather dire need for updating (replacing stained carpets, broken/missing tile in bath room and wobbly coffee table, etc.) and repairs. The beds were comfortable and showers were hot and soothing after long hikes. I wish I could have used the washing machine instead of having to hand wash clothes in the sink. Generally, we had a nice stay but definitely a few caveats.

Perfect location, ok house

Location of the property is perfect, inside the park! The house is ok but not perfect given the rate. At almost $500 per night, there are several things that could be better. For example all other rental properties in the area had someone help with snow removal but not this one, you are responsible for removing snow from the entrance. Also there are exactly six of each silverware or plates, nothing extra. The stairs to get to the house from the driveway as mentioned on other reviews are rotten and need work. But as I mentioned great location and the house is as described, I just think the price could be lower for the condition of the house.q

Desperately in need of attention

Outdoor stairs are rotten and dangerous. Freezer leaks on floor. Propane stove but no CO detector. Also smoke detector missing from master bedroom. No coffee maker. Called and property manager brought a replacement. Unfortunately, it was so filthy we refused to use it even after spending 15+ minutes attempting to clean it. Seats on 3 of the 6 kitchen chairs were broken. Blinds and frame on front window are broken. No non-slip mat for master shower -- slipped and fell. No bathmat for master bath. Pathetic selection of dishes and utensils, all mismatched. Half the bowls were either chipped or cracked, total of 4 glasses, only 3 teaspoons. Towel rack broken off wall in guest bath. Black mold? around base of tub in guest bath with evidence of dry rot. Missing/dead light bulbs throughout. Paid a cleaning fee but guests are directed to wipe down interior of refrigerator, wash and return all dishes/utensils to cupboards/drawers, wipe down counters, and sweep floors. Under maintained and over priced.

Quick Yosemite Trip

We came up for a few day visit to Yosemite and had the best time staying at the Sunshine Suite. It was the perfect location!

Felt like home

Our stay at this house was wonderful. As close to Yosemite as you can get without staying in the park. Great layout with one bedroom having its own private bathroom. Kitchen had everything we needed. The deck was a perfect place for breakfast before heading out to the Valley. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Easy stay

Comfy place, nice and clean. Good place to launch exploration of Valley, Glacier Point, Wawona. We happened to be there when they were cutting down trees on the property, very noisy, but peaceful when chainsaws were off. Refrigerator is loud, could be replaced. We didn't cook (other than cereal, sandwiches), but kitchen looked reasonably stocked. Would stay again!

Nice house, great location!

Usually, when you go to Yosemite and rent a house, it takes HOURS to get into the park. But not this house! Yosemite West is the best place to stay because you're only about 30 minutes from the valley and 45 minutes from Glacier Point. The house was perfect for my stay, and just like the pictures. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The common space was comfortable with 2 couches and even an outdoor area, which was perfect for midday relaxing after a morning hike. This is mentioned in the listing but there's no cell reception and very limited WiFi, so just make sure you know where you need to go ahead of time. We used the WiFi to look up directions to certain locations. But do your Yosemite research before you travel! My only complaint about this house was not actually about the house itself but the approval/payment process. Unfortunately, you cannot pay for this house through VRBO/HomeAway, you have to send the payment through Paypal. And that is not clear when actually booking this property. I had to call VRBO/HomeAway a few times to get this settled.
