Stunning Fisherman Cottage in Southwold!
Thimble cottage has everything you need for a relaxing few days by the sea! It is central to some lovely restaurants and a nice pub but is also quiet when you need it to be....I.e at night. Lucy and Tim were yet again fantastic hosts and even provided a bottle of wine, chocolates and a cake upon arrival. An absolute treat and we look forward to returning at some point! John and Sally

Family break
The property was as described, great location and check in was good. We appreciated the complimentary cookies but would have preferred some kitchen roll and , more importantly, a spare loo roll; there was a half roll when we arrived but no spare. Luckily I had tissues with me but it was a little inconvenient. The main problem was that despite it being in the middle of a heat wave the back bedroom window was locked with no key available and the water heater was in the same room so it was even warmer than it would have been. A fan would have made a big difference. It was a sweet property but could have been improved with a little attention to detail.

Bit too small and noisy
Thimble Cottage is sweet and nicely decorated but was a bit too small for 4 not large adults in our opinion. Easy location to explore delightful Southwold from. It was however rather noisy (bus stop and lovely pop up bakery queues outside main bedroom window from early in the morning, dog grooming parlour immediately behind the tiny courtyard, public bins being emptied at 5:30am in the High St). We were also greeted with an overflowing bin of rubbish in the courtyard from previous guests which we sorted with help from the lovely neighbour . No mattress protectors and stained mattresses. No wine glasses or even any matching glasses.

A little gem of a cottage
We had a lovely 5 night stay at Thimble Cottage. Aptly named, it's a fabulously tiny gem in the heart of Southwold. We are a family of 4 (kids 11 and 13) and the property worked brilliantly for us. It is small, there's no doubting why it is called Thimble Cottage, but it suited us - three very useable bedrooms, a newly done bathroom with shower and a more than adequate kitchen lounge space. Lots of nice touches and well equipped.
Our of the door onto the High Street with its eclectic mix of lovely shops and eateries....and the Adnams Brewery's subtle influence. Oh and it's just 5 mins or so to the beach and less than a minute to the common. A great first trip to Southwold.
Lucy and Tim were great hosts - nice touches on our arrival and very easy to deal with, thank you.
Definitely a returner for us.

Hello,
We are Tim and Lucy and we live on the stunning Suffolk Heritage Coast with our son Jack. We have been successfully letting our cottages: Stable cottage in Saxmundham, Arwen cottage (just a stone's throw from the beach) in Aldeburgh and Thimble cottage in Southwold via our companies Aldeburgh Seaside Cottages and Southwold Seaside Cottages. All our properties are self-catering and advertise on the Owners Direct website. We are thrilled to have met such interesting people and received such lovely feedback for it.
Tim was born and bred in beautiful Suffolk and I was born in Lima-Peru and brought up in Milan-Italy. I speak Spanish, Italian, French, German and English. As my husband’s family is from Suffolk we have strong ties with this beautiful part of the world. Having travelled extensively we have been inspired by the good things we have come across in properties we have stayed in. As you can tell, we are passionate about providing somewhere special that our guests will love, enjoy and return to.
We feel incredibly lucky to be able to live in this part of the world and are loving sharing our cottages with some amazing people from the Owners Direct community. If we had a motto to live by it would have to be Maya Angelou's: “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour and some style...”
