Exquisite custom log lodge minutes from Mackinaw City offers the perfect location for day trips. Create memories at your own lakeside fire pit roasting marshmallows directly on the Straits of Mackinac or simply relax on the expansive 58' deck. This one of a kind property has views of Bois Blanc Island, Mackinaw Island & the Mighty Mac bridge. The main floor master bedroom has a hickory log king size bed and a private bathroom. Both upstairs bedrooms each have a hickory log queen bed, chairs and a futon.

MAXIMUM 8 GUESTS STRICTLY ENFORCED

Beautiful property that we visit regularly. Steve and Eva are perfect hosts that make sure that we are well taken care of. Convenient to all the local vacation opportunities, but private enough to just relax. We couldn't ask for more!

This was an amazing house. It was so relaxing to be right on the lake and witness the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The house is conveniently located between Cheboygan and Mackinaw City.

The house was perfect! Plenty of space and in excellent condition.It is such a beautiful piece of property.Our grandchildren loved the water and playing cornhole. We wouldn’t hesitate to return. Steve and Eva were wonderful hosts.

Wonderful week with family and friends

We had a wonderful week at this property. It was beautiful, clean, and the owners were easy to communicate with. Taking the time to personally walk us through the house was much appreciated! We had a week of walking/playing on the beach, fires and s’mores, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We would definitely recommend this property and would happily stay again.

Home Away from Home

Our family has made this beautiful destination our home away from home. Steve and Eva are such gracious hosts and their home is warm, inviting, clean, and comfortable! We absolutely love the views and all there is to do in the Straits area. This has been our vacation house six times and no other place compares!

Treasure Trove of the Great Lakes/Straights

Steve & Eva's home was everything and more. Picture's don't do it justice. Spacious, along with being located right between Mackinaw City & Cheboygan. On Thursday evenings Cheboygan has music in the park during the summer, the ferry's to Mackinaw Island are close, and so much more! And the freighter's, view of the bridge, private beach area is outstanding. Just a tip, my granddaughter's found buried pirate treasure in the sand; $12.91. Legend says there is more :)

The Best Time

The house is absolutely beautiful. There was so much to do and near everything, yet there was privacy to enjoy the lake. The sunsets and sunrises were incredible. We will definitely go back!

PURE MICHIGAN PERFECTION!

Upon our search for 2nd annual family vacation we came across this house and needed to do a double take from the pics provided on Vrbo is this real! Answer is OMG Absolutely! Pulling up to the home was stunning and meeting the owners upon arrival offering great greetings and info of surrounding areas from shopping to activities but the warmth welcoming as they opened the door to an amazing property ! What you see on vrbo is what you get the stunning view of Lake Huron/the straights off the deck and mini balconies in both bedrooms upstairs and dont forget the amazing view from the monstrous master suite! Not only taking a day trip to mackinaw island but taking a day by the camp fire overlooking and glazing out on Lake Huron seeing boats, liners and most of all the view Mackinaw Bridge!! If your family is looking for a amazing home that provides not only relaxation or close by activities inbetween Cheboygan and Mackinaw city is the place to stay! Our family had a Absolute amazing time and made wonderful memories! Highly recommend and in closing thank you to the owner's for the warm welcome and accommodations for such a beautiful home! PURE MICHIGAN PERFECTION!!

Great spot and accommodation!

Loved being right on the water - beautiful scenery and sounds of the lake, enjoyed swimming and kayaking. Lots of possible day trips in the area.

Perfect cabin for family

We had a wonderful week with our kids and grandchildren. Steve and Eva are great hosts and provided everything we needed to have a perfect Michigan getaway. Nightly fires, daily kayaking, beautiful sunsets and sunrises, all exceeded our expectations and truly allowed us to relax and enjoy our vacation.

Million $ view

Steve met and showed us around at check in. He gave tips for local activities and restaurants. From the moment we opened the front door I knew this place was amazing. The view from the foyer was breathtaking and only got better as you walked through the house. We enjoyed several nights around the fire pit watching ships pass through the straits. Do yourself a favor, stay up late to view the stars.

PERFECT LOCATION & CABIN!

We had the BEST time at our first stay in Michigan! This cabin was 100% perfect. It was clean, beautiful, perfect location, right on the water, private & just all around wonderful. Fabulous home and property steps away from Lake Heron and a short ride to Mackinac island.

Elderly parents and their 4 children enjoyed a week vacation on this beautiful property. The home was very well maintained and the hosts were amazing! They thought of everything. We played board games, darts, puzzles, corn hole, kayaking and nightly fires in the fire pit. We also went sightseeing to Mackinac Island. We look forward to coming back!

Coming Home

What is there to say that hasn't already been said. Our family absolutely loves coming up here to Freedom on the Straits and this year was extra special as a new 19 month old addition was able to join us :) It's like coming home for our family and Steve and Eva are the sweetest hosts.
