Villa Marilena combines privacy with breathtaking view into the waters of the Ionian Sea, offering the guest unforgettable holidays.

As a Chinese saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, but what one is facing when reaching the Villa surpasses every guest’ s wildest expectations: from the living room with the comfortable sofas by the fireplace to the big stylish dining table and the fully equiped
kitchen meeting every demand.

Going upstairs to the first floor, the bedrooms offer relaxing sleep and an unparralel view from the open windows overlooking the Bay of Sami and Ithaka island.

And then, if you let the eyes of your heart conquer your mind, you will travel 3,200 years in the past and you will see Odysseas’ boat approaching home after 10 years of wondering.

Fantastic Villa Vacation

Beautiful Villa and very helpful and friendly hosts. The villa is well equipped and superbly located in a quiet mountain area with views over the bay at Sami. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely book again!!

Really enjoyed our stay. The views are great; the property is in a quiet rural location but an easy drive away from tavernas and shops. Appreciated the big shade umbrellas by the pool.

Our best holiday location yet

It was our home for 2 weeks mid March, relaxing, comfortable and central to where we wanted to go, 1hr max driving.Beautiful scenery everywhere. We like to explore, but the lovely villa, pool, facilities and views would allow for a very relaxing home for 2 weeks.A hire car is necessary for the 10 minute drive to Sami for the supermarkets or many restaurants and cafés

A lovely property with a stunning view over the bay of Sami. It had exactly what we needed including a very clean pool. The air con worked a treat which led to comfortable sleeping. Marinos and Eleni were great hosts. Nothing too much trouble. Would recommend this Villa.

Beautiful views and a lovely villa

We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Marilena. The hosts were great. Really good communication throughout and made check in and departure very easy. The villa is just as described and had everything we needed. Clean and well kept and just a short 10 min drive to Sami for bars, restaurants and lovely beaches. The best thing though was the view of Sami, and across the sea to Ithaca. Truly stunning!

Wonderful

We had a very nice stay, the house is confortable, close to Sami which is a nice place to discover Cephalonia. Eleni and Marinos are welcoming, it was a real pleasure to meet them.

Superb holiday at Villa Marilena

We enjoyed a fantastic 2 week family holiday at this excellent villa. Spacious, clean accommodation, very private, excellent air conditioning, private internal garage with electronic gates. Really nice pool and very comfortable rooms. We explored all of the island from here by car and majority of places are no more than 45 mins drive. Would thoroughly recommend.

A wonderful quiet getaway from it all

This villa is such a delight. We wanted a quiet get away from it all holiday and this was the perfect location. The villa has everything you need and more. The pool is so private with loads of space around it for sunbeds and using the bbq. The views are wonderful. We can't wait to return. Eleni and Marinos are the perfect hosts, so helpful and just lovely people.

Beautiful Villa in Central Location

What an amazing experience! The owners were so incredibly kind and helpful every step of the way. The villa was even more breath taking in person than in the pictures. The views and peaceful location were like something from a movie. And the location on the island was perfect to easily access all over Kefalonia. We hope to return to Villa Marilena very soon!

Beautiful views

We had a lovely week at Villa Marilena. Really easy check in and the villa was really clean. Lovely pool and beautiful views towards Ithaki and the sea. Loved the master bedroom with on-suite bathroom. Minor issue with one of the WC was fixed immediately. Would be very happy to return and to recommend to anyone looking for a villa in Kefalonia. Great location for exploring the island.

Super house in Chaliotata

A wonderful house, with lots of thought put into fitting it out. We loved the quietness - and particularly the pool - but also enjoyed being able to get into Sami easily. Wish we had goats' bells near where we live! Marinos and Elena are marvellous hosts and we appreciated all that they did.

Villa Marilena is the place to stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Marilena, Eleni and Marino are the most perfect of hosts. They really couldn’t have done enough to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The property’s location was perfect for us, we love Chaliotata village some nice places to eat and not far from Sami. The villa was just as pictured and Marino and Eleni were always at the other end of the phone whenever we needed anything. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you Eleni and Marino for making our holiday so enjoyable, hope to see you again.

Absolutely perfect. Stunning location and brilliant hosts. No hassle getting in touch with hosts. They met us promptly at the villa to give us the key and a quick tour of the villa. Easy checkout. Beautiful views from the villa down to Sami and across to Ithaca. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! Everything about our stay was perfect. Thank you Marinos and Eleni! What a wonderful place

Fantastic location overlooking the bay to Ithaca and about a mile into Sami by car. Marinos and family were so helpful and always on hand if we needed anything what a really nice man. Air con in bedrooms were perfect at night and bug screens , but the critters did bite a few times 😂 If you’re looking for a place just outside Sami then you can’t go wrong . Only suggestions would be another couple of loungers for upstairs balcony 👍 Really pleased with the quiet location and setting and the daily Goat parade past the villa made our holiday .

A Great 2 weeks

Thanks Marinos and Eleni. Enjoyed our stay in spite of the heatwave at the end ! Got to explore my heritage in Zervata opposite your home as well as do the normal tourist stuff. It was a crime that i have been registered for my ‘taftotita’ in Sami / Grizata all my life and i had not been to visit until this trip. We will be back. Kalo kalokairi ! Best George Zervos

Summer Holiday 2019

The villa has amazing views of the mountains and out to the sea. It is located on a quiet hillside, but is ideally positioned for accessing other areas of the island. A car is essential (especially if you have young children)for exploring the island although there are two local tavernas in the neighbouring village serving good local food it is quite a walk and one which would be difficult at night. The villa has excellent amenities, the pool was a welcome respite from the heat. Our 22month old grandson loved the sound and sight of the goats in the evening and was even more excited by the bats swooping over the pool at night. Marinos and his wife were extremely welcoming and helpful and provided us with a nice bottle of wine and some basics to start our holiday.Thank you. Our favourite place to eat, swim and sunbathe was Anti-Samos. We would thoroughly recommend staying at this villa.

We stayed at Villa Marilena for 10 days and had a great time. It is in a great location with wonderful views and outdoor space. Only 15 mins from Sami by car with all its restaurants and shops. The property itself probably needs a bit of updating, particularly the showers which work but are not great. Also a new toaster wouldn’t go amiss. We had a couple of minor problems with getting the wi fi working and the fridge broke down but Marinos responded quickly to both issues and were sorted within 24 hours. Would happily stay again.

Great villa, great holiday!

We had a great holiday here over the Easter holidays 2022. Marinos and Eleni were so helpful and the villa was lovely. We had trouble with flight cancellations and changes twice since our original booking, and Marinos and Eleni were so flexible and helpful. The villa was perfect for us and our family... 2 teenagers and a 12 year old - 5 of is in total. Its location is great just a short drive from Sami and central to a lot of points of interest. We had everything we needed and the villa is very well equipped and very well designed to accommodate a family. The pool is lovely and the view amazing, especially at sunrise. Would highly recommend.

Stunning views

Lovely villa situated in the hills overlooking the town of Sami and the island of Ithaca. The villa is in the perfect position to explore the beautiful island of Kefalonia. The views from the villa are absolutely stunning and you can never tire of admiring them. Set in a very peaceful location with the only sounds to be heard are the cows, sheep and the unmistakable sound of goat bells as they pass up the road past the villa. The villa is spacious and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. The hosts Marinos and Eleni were absolutely lovely, we're there to welcome us when we arrived and always on hand should you have a problem. A car is essential and it is only a short drive into the beautiful harbour town of Sami with plenty of bars and restaurants. We loved our stay and would highly recommend. Paul & Julia Sept 2021

Fantastic chilled out stay

We booked in for 12 nights stay at villa Marilena, we had a absolutely fantastic time here, we were met at the villa by Marinos & Eleni who were very friendly and helpful, a lovely bottle of wine waiting for us and a few treats. The villa is in a absolutely fabulous setting overlooking the beautiful mountains of Kefalonia and Sami, furnished to a really high standard and really comfortable, beds were very comfortable, and the views from these rooms and the top terrace were stunning, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay so much and loved the peace and quiet so stayed at the villa by the pool on many days. Sami was a short drive around 7 minutes, many restaurants and was lovely going for coffee in the mornings looking at the boats at the harbour, we had many meals here in the evening, Antisamos beach was 15 minutes drive way and beautiful, the villa is situated in a good place for exploring the island, we will definitely be returning in the future. Loved hearing the goats with there bells, and frequently saw them around the villa and walking up the road very cute.

Fantastic place!

Villa Marilena is a fantastic place for peaceful vacations. We’ve loved to stay there and we were not happy when it was time to leave. The view from the terrace or Balcony is stunning! The villa is equipped with much more than what you would need. Everything is clean and the hosts Marinos and Eleni have welcomed us very warmly! One of our best location ever.
