Really lovely, well equipped and comfortable accommodation in a beautiful area, surrounded by forest. The hosts Christine and Keith, were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. For us this was a perfect holiday stay and we would recommend it to anyone who loves country style living in comfort.

Peaceful and pretty

Our stay was great. The apartment had everything we needed, the little courtyard was a lovely place to sit, and our hosts were friendly and more than welcoming. We can highly recommend it!

Our second time visiting this lovely property just outside the lovely village of Monpazier, so that should say it all. Already planning trip number three to our home away from home.

Perfect and well appointed and ideally located

We had never booked a gite online before and we very very pleased when we stumbled on La Grange. Exceptionally well appointed, spotlessly clean and spacious. Lovely hosts who had thought of everything. Faultless and highly recommended

This Gite simply wraps itself around you. So comfortable and clean. The outside courtyard is lovely for a morning coffee and evening wine. Chris and Keith have done a wonderful job of making it a home away from home. Especially useful is the map they send which really lays out the area for driving purposes. Would stay aging in a heartbeat and we were sad to leave.

Great location and a wonderful stay

Beautifully appointed accommodation and surrounds. We really appreciated the way we were made to feel at home in a stylish, beautiful setting; touches like the welcome pack, luxurious linens and superb bathroom and kitchen - all spotlessly clean - made for a delightful holiday and Keith and Christine's kindness did everything to make us feel so happily relaxed. The house is easy to find and ideally situated for exploring the area - in easy reach of things to see and do. We really do highly recommend staying - and would love to do so again!

Beautiful stone barn

Everything about our stay was wonderful. Beginning with the VRBO listing that was complete with information about accommodations, nearby village and things to do, to the hosts themselves. Everything was perfect about the guest house both inside and out. A peaceful quiet location and short drive to the charming village of Monpazier. I feel lucky to have found this gem.

September Break

The quiet (semi-remote) location, warm but not overbearing welcome from hosts, attention to detail in the finish of the property combined to make this a near-perfect late Summer holiday venue. We enjoyed just “being” at the Gite as well as visiting the nearby Bastide towns and a couple attractions helpfully recommended in the host’s information pack.

Best gite ever out of 16 over the yesrs

Fabulous decor in antiques and furnishings. Beautiful bedding and setting. Very friendly host and hostess Felt so at home and comfortable as a French farmer!!! Alittle deep in the woods but close enough to our needs Highly recommend this gite

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay at la grange dans la forêt. The place is extremely comfortable, with all anyone could need during a relaxing vacation. It is also very charmingly decorated and tastefully furnished. Our hosts Chris and Keith were super nice and helpful. La grange is in the middle of the forest, thus very quite, and at the same time very well located. Many beautiful spots can be reached within an hour. We can warmly recommend La grange and hope to return there soon ourselves.

Such a beautiful gite!

We had the good fortune to stay at this lovely gite for two weeks May/June this year. The gite does not disappoint, it is exactly as the photographs show. The quality of the furnishings and amenities are excellent. Even beautiful embroidered bed linen, shows how the lovely hosts Christine and Keith have given attention to everything. Very peaceful and with the lovely private outside space was just what we wanted. Gorgeous places to visit in a spectacular area. Would highly recommend.

Tranquil

Property just as described. Lovely & clean, spacious bathroom. Comfortable bed linen. Has everything you would need. Private courtyard & tranquil space. The hosts are lovely, on hand & helpful but not at all intrusive. We were very grateful for our welcome goodies on arrival (especially the fresh milk !) xx

We previously stayed at this property seven years ago when Keith and Christine had just started to let. Nothing much has changed - which is a good thing! It was very clean, well equipped and, on this occasion most importantly, cool during day and night.We visited during the 40C August heatwave of 2025 which was a bit of a shame for the first week, when any daytime activity outside was a bit of trial. Christine was full of suggestions to help us - and we did travel far and wide in our air-conditioned car. Otherwise we "chilled" in the accommodation, which despite not being air-conditioned was great. The second week was much better and we visited chateaus, art galleries, caves and markets etc. as normal.Keith and Christine are excellent hosts and recommended a visiting English band playing at the brewery in Monpazier, which made for a very entertaining evening.There is plenty to see in Monpazier, although a small town, and has a few decent restaurants, but quality varies. Like all rural France, be prepared to drive up to 90 mins to get to interesting places and larger towns (Cahors, Agen, Perigeux).Hopefully we won't leave it seven years before returning.

It was unusually hot during your first week but we are always confident that the thick stone walls along with utilising the shutters maintains a comfortable temperature inside. But thankfully during your second week you were able to visit the many beautiful villages and local sites of interest nearby. We definitely hope you will come again as there is plenty more for you to see, it was a pleasure to see you.

A fabulous retreat in the forest and base for exploring the Dordogne.

My husband and I stayed here for 8 days in September 2022. We could not rate the property or experience more highly. Chris and Keith have built and curated the perfect retreat in the forest for their guests. The accommodation is generous in size, very well appointed and beautifully decorated. We did a shop first having stayed in some very basic properties previously; however, Chris had left us a welcome pack including fresh milk, butter, bread, cheese and wine - which was thoroughly enjoyed. There were other basics and practical / nice touches provided which were very much appreciated over the course of our stay. All in all, this was probably the best equipped accommodation we have stayed in - especially for avid cooks and picnickers like ourselves. There is a lovely private yard area with well positioned tables and sun loungers to track the sun during the day. Indeed we spent a couple of evenings watching the Milky Way pass overhead and even saw a couple of shooting stars! The location is a great base for some of the sights of the Dordogne. We originally intended to make more day trips further afield but we ended up staying more local and sometimes just stayed where we were and enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of the forest (even glimpsing some wild boar and birds of prey). Finally, Chris and Keith were perfect hosts - always on hand for advice, assistance and chats. To you both, keep living the dream and thank you!

Des hôtes charmants et très accueillants , la location est située au milieu des bois, parfait pour se ressourcer. Très cosys et très calme

Petite maison très cosy, très bien décorée, bien aménagée, petit jardin très agréable. Petite maison très retirée dans les bois mais au calme. Nous avons visité toutes les superbes bastides, Monbazillac et Bergerac. Superbe région. Propriétaires très gentils qui vous accueillent avec une petit panier de bien venue (Vin, Fromage, pain,oeufs...)

Séjour au calme au sud du Périgord

Superbe gîte à la décoration soignée et à la propreté irréprochable. La propriétaire est souriante, accueillante et aussi discrète. Tres calme, situé entourée de forêt, il est proche de Monpazier et du château de Biron (moins de 10km). Un tres bon séjour !
