Private Prairie Lake Lodge - Family Friendly

Come and stay at the newly constructed, beautiful CU Lodge weekly/monthly rental on Prairie Lake near Chetek. Get ready to enjoy an abundance of water sports, swimming, canoeing, and relaxing on the dock, grilling on the deck and most of all fishing on the Chetek Chain of Lakes. This chain of lakes has 3,797 acres and 66 miles of lakeshore with beautiful sunsets and sunrises, a variety of wild life, frequently including an eagle soaring and many other scenic attractions. Fish on this chain of lakes include: Northern pike, walleye, bluegill, crappie, sunfish, large and small mouth bass.


The Chetek area offers many attractions such as: restaurants hiking trails, ATV trails, museums, parks, stockcar races, shopping, golf, and a very festive 4th of July Liberty Fest celebration. Twice a week during the summer you can be awed by the nationally known Chetek Hydro flights water ski team ski show.


If you are a winter outdoor enthusiast, you will enjoy snowmobiling, snow shoeing, skiing and the ever popular ice fishing (with ice shack available.) You will also have access to thousands of acres of public hunting land just ready for you to bag a trophy! Guide services are also available upon request.

The cabin was very clean and well kept. We enjoyed our stay! Check in went very well. They didn’t have guests before or after us, so they offered early check in and late check out. We would book again!

Great cabin and location. Cabin is clean and beds comfortable. Owners have excellent communication and are very responsive to any questions. Loved that the cabin has two full bathrooms with a washer and dryer. Loved the dock and deck. Very private.

Great lake spot

Perfect lake access, comfortable place with great balcony, nice basement area. Loved the fire pit out back by the lake and the front yard for lawn games. Air conditioning worked perfectly during a very hot July 4th weekend. Hosts were above and beyond friendly and communicative.

Relaxing Stay

We spent 6 nights relaxing in this quaint cabin. We had fun visiting fun shops, cooking on the fire, and taking in the scenery on our boat rides. We had a very nice getaway.

Family Reunion

It was a wonderful experience! Right on the lake. It was a very relaxing time. Plenty of space for us and all the cooking utensils and supplies we needed. Very accommodating with our dogs. Will definitely be staying here again.

Great location

We really enjoyed our stay here. Communication with owners was 5*s. The home is bright and airy. Very nice and we had such a great time. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for home to vaca in Chetek. We had a perfect vacation!!

The property was very nice and modern. Had all the amenities one would need.

We really enjoyed our stay! The home was well maintained and nicely furnished. I wish we would've been closer to the lake; it was a steep climb to the dock and didn't really have a view. However, overall it was a positive experience and Janelle made sure we were well informed and genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay!

Perfect get away….. in the Chetek Cameron area.

Clean and quiet, easy to pick up after yourself! We had thunderstorms come through and you couldn’t really hear them inside the house. Definitely would recommend this to others.

Cozy Lakehouse in Chetek with Great Hosts

This was a great place to stay for the weekend. We booked this place for a fishing trip on the chain of lakes in Chetek. The communication from Janell and Kevin was great, and they were very helpful throughout the entire trip. There was even a point where I needed to repair my trailer, and they let me borrow a few tools which I was appreciated very much. They are some of the best hosts Ive experienced with VRBO.They have a dock right down on the water which made it super easy for fishing as we left the boat on the water the entire time without having to trailer it each day. There are a few steps to get down to the dock as the property is higher up on a hill from the water, but didnt bother us at all. The house was very cozy, and had plenty of room for the 3 of us. Both the beds and futons were suprisingly comfortable. We had no issues with space around the property both in and out. The house is located about 10-15 minutes north of Chetek, and 20-25 minutes south of Rice Lake, so while its outside of town, it is conveniently located between both areas in case you need to run to the store, get food, etc.To top all of this, the weather and fishing was perfect and we caught tons of fish (bass), so that really added to our expierence!Overall, this was a great property and definitely plan on staying here in the future!

A great little cabin up north

This is a very nice updated 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin in Chetek along the water. Very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, glassware, very nice pans and a large refrigerator/freezer. The kitchen knives provided were the best I have seen in all the places we have stayed. Great fire pit which we enjoyed every night of our 9 night stay. Loved the deck overlooking the water. Sunny in the mornings and shady all afternoon. The owner is VERY responsive on any question or issue you may have. We were very happy with our stay here!

Fishing vacation

The cabin is beautiful. We found the kitchen to be short a few necessary things for us that cook. A set of kitchen knives, a roasting pan, microwavable containers, and sauce pans with lids that are big enough to cook veggies in would be great. The basement tends to be cold. Parents with very young children need to bring a pack and play for the child to sleep in. And be prepared for lots of steps!

Peaceful

Quiet location on a wooded lot with the owners next door. It's a cute cabin and looked presentable until we actually started to make ourselves at home. Then the cleanliness was an issue for us. For example the base of the upstairs toilet was covered in dirt, there were what appeared to be toothpaste spots on the backsplash,there was grease on the microwave and the side of the refrigerator, the drawers which held utensils and pots and pans had food particles in them, and the interior of the dishwasher had food in it.. We took it upon ourselves to clean these items so that we would be more comfortable using them. The owners were easy to reach out to and great with communication. With a thorough cleaning, this would be a fantastic place. Wonderful, peaceful location close to town.

Lake cabin

Very nice “cabin” not rustic at all, all the comforts of home. It is up high above the lake trees provided shade but obstruct the view. We struggled to find fish and the water is very green over the entire lake would not have gone swimming if that was our intention

Wonderful!

Our family of 5 and our very social golden retriever were very impressed with all aspects of our vacation rental! We were there for 4 nights and wish we could have stayed longer! Rented the pontoon and fished and swam. Enjoyed the campfire pit as well. We cooked several meals and the kitchen was equipped with everything you could possible need. Janelle was very helpful with advice on things to do and quickly answered any questions we had. She went above and beyond any expectation. Will for sure stay here again and highly recommend!

Well kept w/ affordable boat rental

My wife and I with our 3 teen kids enjoyed a 4 day stay and found the place exactly as advertised, clean, and the host Janell to be very responsive to questions to aid our planning. The ability to rent their pontoon boat for several days of our stay was a key reason for selecting the property and we enjoy it a ton.

This is a beautiful cabin as described with hosts who truly want to make things easy for you. I’ve stayed and fished at various cabins for 34 years. We all said this was one of the top five trips. Excellent fishing! Beautiful lake. Property is everything you want it to be. Our party was two adults and three young adults. Plenty of room. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Prairie Lake Paradise

My wife and I along with our Golden Retriever, Mazey stayed at this property for a retirement celebration get away. The house was clean and in a great location. We brought our 18 1/2 ft. boat and the dock was study and in great shape. The fishing was even pretty good near the house. The property owners were very quick to respond with any questions that we had. We had a great experience and we highly recommend this house and location and will be back.

Great Place

It was amazing, Great Lake house. Super friendly owner, never had to ask for anything. Very helpful with question I had about fishing holes and the bar scene. Was a great weekend, would definitely stay again.
