The Stables - a house that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

This converted stable provides comfortable accommodation for couples and small families alike. Situated in an enviable location overlooking the busy Bembridge harbour the cottage is within a short walk of the beach which is ideal for rock pooling and swimming. There is also a village pub, 2 restaurants and shops/post office within walking distance of The Stables.
The property is in a quiet location which is ideal for beach holidays, walking holidays and cycling holidays. There are fabulous views and countryside to be discovered along the miles of footpaths, bridleways and cycle paths nearby. Birdwatchers will also find the cottage ideally located for the RSPB reserve.

Ryde is a short drive away with it further expanse of beaches and Puckpool Park for children. The well known sailing village of Bembridge is across the harbour with charming restaurants, shops, church and National Trust windmill and restaurants.

St Helens Village Green is well known locally for the village cricket. The playground and open space of the green is an excellent place for children to let off steam.

Yet another fantastic stay at our favourite place

Our favourite place to stay on the island. Love the position overlooking the Duver, perfect for watching the Sunrise! Wouldn’t stay anywhere else, Dave is a fantastic host, nothing is too much trouble and the cottage is always spotless. We return year after year, long may it continue!

Fantastic location

This was our 2nd stay at the stables, the location is great and provides excellent value for money. Owner next door is very helpful but not intrusive and facilities are great. Property is spacious and has absolutely everything you could need.

Lovely property in St. Helens

The property has everything you could need for your holiday, is immaculately clean and beautifully situated just by the harbour and a short walking distance from the quiet seafront and beach. Wonderful views onto the Solent.

Another fabulous stay!

Lost count of the amount of times we have now visited the island and we would never stay anywhere other than this location. Hosts Dave and Sue are the best and we absolutely love our stay in their cottage. Always spotless and very well equipped please don’t ever stop!

Fantastic stay!

We had the most fantastic stay in The Stables. It had everything we needed and was warm and cosy - vital in January! The location is amazing, right on the edge of the harbour. Lots of birds to see and amazing sunrises. We loved walking across the Causeway to St Helen's Duver. Also up the hill to the village, where there is a pub, grocery store and the most amazing second hand bookshop I have ever visited. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We hope to return.

Perfect location

Another wonderful holiday at the Stables. We have been coming here for several years and hope to do so for many more! The house has everything we need and the location cannot be beaten. Peaceful and perfect for nature lovers. The Vine Inn is a short walk away in the village, serving good food in a traditional pub setting. Warm and comfortable house. Highly recommend.

We did like to be beside the sea

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this scenic and quietly situated cottage. Everything we needed was provided and we were able to relax in warm comfort perfectly placed to travel around the island. It was delightful to wake each morning to a panorama of sea and wildlife. I was even able to make use of the small back garden to hang out my washing. A real home from home by the sea.

Isle of Wight stay in St Helens

It is always a pleasure stopping on the Isle of Wight, but our stay at The Stables is perfect for us as a couple. The scenary, local walks and access to the rest of the Island. Our hosts David and Sue, our namesakes! are particularly helpful and attentive, with an abundance of local knowledge. A quiet location, which would appeal to those who like a quiet escape. The area has a nature reserve nearby, with protected Lagoons, harbour facilities with little cafe's and local pubs within reasonable distances. Fishing is also available out of the harbour. We have already booked again for next year, and can't wait !!!

Very relaxing holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Stables, lovely cottage and very clean with every thing we needed for our holiday.David the owner was there to greet us and was very friendly and helpful.The location of the cottage near the harbour is beautiful, and relaxing,We had not been to the Isle of Wight for many years but we are glad we were able to visit this year .So much to see & do on the Island , we would like to come back another time and have two weeks instead .Would definitley stay at The Stables again and would recommend this cottage.
