Cute Ocean view Cottage that we call "La Casita". (The small house)Located 6 Km North of Montanita, within a family owned property. Our guests will appreciate the inviting intimacy of our small cottage.
It has one bedroom with A/C, a Queen size bed and full Ocean view, the living room has a twin size Day Bed, DirectTV and DVD player. La Casita has a very nice bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen with a cozy dinning area for four and also WiFi all around the property, and you will also have access to W/D.
It has a beautiful terrace to relax on the hammock and enjoy the view of the Pacific and its sunsets.
Close access to the best beach in Ecuador which is only a 15 minute walk down the hill and through the village. La Casita is within a family owned property, it is very safe and private and there will always be somebody to help you with anything you might need.

La Casita is well equipped but we do not provide any groceries. There will be a complimentary 5 gal drinking bottle at the house when you arrive, the refills will have to be purchased by you, we have them available at the house for your convenience, please pay them in cash. You can also find them in many of the local stores in the area, just need to take the empty bottle for trade in. You will have a W/D just need to use your own detergent. There is complimentary but optional daily house keeping. La Casita is inside a family owned property, we expect our guests to enjoy the tranquility in a quiet and respectful way. If you will be driving your own car, please drive slowly and carefully inside the property there are usually small children around and please keep the main gate and beach access closed. Thank you.

Not what I expected

I booked this property solely based on being able to have private and EASY access to the beach. I was also told that everything was within walking distance again not true. The owner himself gave me this information. Once I got there I found that not only did I have to walk about 3 New York City blocks to the beach but I also needed to take cabs everywhere because nothing was close by. NOTHING. There was an EMPTY house that had a pool but that was off limits to all accept the renters of that house…it stood EMPTY the entire time that I was there and I was denied access to it. I booked for ten days I was there for 4 /5 days and moved to a different and much better area for way cheaper and ON THE BEACH with access to the pool as well. The location of this property is beautiful but it’s definitely not a “vacation” spot kind of place. At least not for active people. Perfect spot for honeymooners or older couples that just want to sit in a hammock all day. Perhaps being more accommodating to your actual guests who complain about being lied to would be helpful in the future. I won’t be returning here.

El lugar tiene una hermosa vista al mar. Está en medio de árboles y un ambiente de paz. Es muy cómodo, limpio, y ordenado. El hospedaje ideal para descansar. Su anfitrión es muy amable, presto a ayudarte en lo que necesites.

Great stay

The casa is exactly as shown, everything was functional and we felt at home. There are a few other houses that share the driveway and to get out of the property you need to rely on the property manager or his family to open the gate (they live right beside it). The only suggestion we have is to improve this process because we felt bothersome whenever we wanted in and out. The beach access is across the road down a little path. We didn’t swim at the beach but it was secluded and lovely. No issues with safety either on the beach or at the property. The hammocks were great and we slept on the deck one night because the ocean sounds were too hypnotic to leave and there were fireflies to watch. There is a great a/c system in the bedroom and apparently access to washing machine but we didn’t see it (we didn’t look though). There’s also an awesome outdoor shower to rinse off the beach sand! Lots of millipedes in the casa but this is to be expected given our surroundings. We came from Manta and picked up groceries in Purto Lopez market. Curia is very tiny so we took day trips to Montañita (ate out, swam and more groceries) and Olon, very close-by and an easy drive. Great place, we would stay again

Best place to stay

Your are a short cab ride from the party if you want to join. Five minute walk to beach that is quite has great bar and food. The property is awesome and the people of Curia are very welcoming.

In sehr guter Lage, ca 400 mtr vom Strand, ca 25 mtr über dem Meeresspiegel. Meeresblick, Sonnenuntergang und das Rauschen der Brandung ergeben ein sehr gutes Ambiente, Die Casita ist Teil einer Kolonie mit 4 Häusern, 2 davon sind ebenfalls mietbar aber für 12 bis 16 Personen, der Abstand zu diesen ist groß genug um sich nicht bedrängt zu fühlen, Die Casita zeigt Altersspuren, ist aber sauber und wird täglich vom Personal gereinigt, wie im Hotel. Man bekommt eine volle Einrichtung mit Klima, Ventilator, Kabel-TV, Kühlschrank, Herd, Mikro usw, die Wäsche wird auf Wunsch vom Personal gewaschen, für Waschpulver und Weichspüler kommt man selbst auf. Einkaufen kann man in Olan, etwa 2 km südlich davon, es gibt Restaurants en mass mit gutem Essen und nicht zu teuer. Das Frühstück auf der Terasse gehörte zu den Highlights. Das Personal ist freundlich und kümmert sich um einen, Die Lage ist sicher und auch Insekten und sonstiges hält sich in Grenzen. Man sollte Ecuador und sein Wetter kennen und sich für die richtige Saison entscheiden.Alles in allen- 5 von 5 und ideal für zwei.

Peaceful property, safe and close to beach.

House had all we needed. Clean and comfortable. Gilson is an excellent host, made sure we had all we needed and more. Enjoyed walks and bike ride on beach. Description accurate. Would recommend to others.
