Spacious 1st floor Portobello Balcony apartment

A beautifully light and airy apartment with high ceilings on the first floor of one of the detached period houses in the elegant tree lined Bassett Road, the premier address in Ladbroke Grove/Portobello, London.

The apartment may appear to be unavailable towards the end of the year however please message as I should be able to accommodate you :)

Two minutes walk from Ladbroke Grove station [ Circle line and Hammersmith & City line ] it is a tranquil place to stay near the hubbub of the Portobello Road and Notting Hill area with your choice of bohemian and culturally diverse restaurants and bars. You can run the full gamut from charming local cafes and street food market in Golborne Road, Galicia my favourite where you are transported to Spain without taking the flight - to the Electric, through Lisa's with jazz guitar on Thursday evenings and finally Richard Caring's Pizza East. Stroll through the Portobello Antique market on Saturday and explore the charms of Notting Hill and West London.

Bassett Road and the building are a quiet oasis in a vibrant district - the apartment does not suit party animals :)

The apartment has wall to wall Nantucket cupboards in the bedroom. With a little agility required to negotiate the windowsill - as seen in the photographs - you can enjoy a coffee on the diminutive balcony in the sunshine before venturing out to explore the area.

The apartment is not suitable for children, toddlers or babies.

The kitchen has a fridge with separate freezer, washer/dryer, oven hob and extractor, microwave, electric smoothie maker and electric kettle.

Heating is controlled by a NEST thermostat.

When rented for more than 10 days - my cleaner will attend the property for approx. 2 hours per week, after the first week, inc changing sheets & towels, at an additional cost of £60

Super fast 60 MB Fibre optic broadband with unlimited download and a 42 inch Plasma TV with terrestrial channels and HDMI cable.
Please note the bed is a comfortable Kingsize bed.

The Neighbourhood
Ladbroke Grove has a thriving local community - there are many small independent shops and amazingly diverse restaurants.
With the Portobello and Golborne Road markets the area has a bohemian and friendly atmosphere where you can browse the antique shops, stop for coffee in an endless number of small cafes or enjoy Tapas at the local Spanish restaurant.

I recommend inexpensive taxi companies from both Heathrow and Gatwick - ensuring a stress free arrival :)

Wonderful stay in Notting Hill

My wife and I completely enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. Caz was wonderful, with great communication. We (and she) were very busy otherwise it would have been great to meet up! I would definitely choose this property again on a return trip to London.

Lovely stay

The property is situated in a convenient location, with public transportation and supermarket nearby. Portobello Market, Notting Hill Gate & Holland Park area are within walking distance. The flat is quiet, clean with all the necessary facilities. The host is responsive and helpful. There's a bus stop very close by and quite often I take the bus instead, especially at night.

We Will Stay Here Again!

We feel so fortunate to have found this quiet, comfortable and clean apartment on a tree-lined street in the heart of Ladbroke Grove in Notting Hill. It was the perfect spot to explore the neighborhoods, markets, restaurants, cafes, and hidden gems of this unique section of London. The flat is located in a residential neighborhood just off Ladbroke Road and a 5 min walk to the Ladbroke Grove Station. You can walk everywhere! It's a first floor walk-up in a building inhabited by residents. Windows look out into the quiet street from the living room and, from the bedroom, into a very quiet, large green area between buildings. Everything you need is here, from cooking to cleaning to washing your clothes. It's clean, it's very quiet, and it's perfect for 2 people. If you like to walk, explore neighborhoods, enjoy eating at small restaurants and cafes, love a vibrant and funky retail scene, and enjoy coming home to a quiet respite in the city, this is the place for you. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

London Neighborhood

Great Flat in Notting Hill

The flat is located in a pretty street in Notting Hill, very residential. It is in good condition and spacious for a one bedroom. Close to Ladroke Station for easy access to the city. Caz was easy to work with and very helpful with the check in and recommendations for nearby supermarkets and restaurants. There was some work with painting the front door and stairwell and Caz helped out looking after the flat while I was away. A minor issue was the with the hot water system which some times switches to cold water during a shower even when it is pumped up in pressure (due to low pressure supply). I am sure this can be fixed. Overall, I can recommend this flat.

Cute apartment in Notting Hill

Ideal perch for Notting Hill and the rest of London

My wife and I stayed here over New Year's and it was perfect for us. It is very spacious for two people. We loved all of the storage space in the closet -- enough for hanging all of our clothes plus room to stowaway our suitcases. The kitchen was well equipped and the sitting room was comfortable -- an ideal place to plan the day or rest after a full one. Clean apartment, overall. Really very close to the best part of the Portabello market's northside. Two notable nearby eats are Lisboa Bakery and Fez Mangal (Turkish). The Tesco grocery nearby is better stocked than I had expected compared to US convenience "marts". The underground entrance is very close. Also, we discovered that the bus routes are really convenient for heading south towards Kensington.

Quiet, Local Neighborhood

Very cute flat in an adorable neighborhood. Great little shops and restaurants nearby. The property was very clean and spacious. Caz communicated promptly and was very proactive which put our mind at ease. She was a dream to work with especially when we had questions.

Great flat!

The flat is very convenient to Ladbroke Grove Tube and easy walking distance to Portobello Road. The kitchen is very well-equipped and the neighborhood is quiet. Bed is comfortable. There is a tiny porch which was nice to have on a sunny day. Highly recommend.

A stone away from Portobello Market!

Literally 7 minutes away by foot from the legendary Portobello Market on the side where you find the food trucks and their delicious meals. The apartment is less than 5 minutes away from a subway station (2 blocks on a quiet street). The pictures correspond to the apartment and the place is clean and quiet. Nice big kitchen with a Miele washing/dryer machine, gaz stove, a big screen tv, comfortable matrice in the bedroom, big windows with natural light. The owner, Caz, was really nice and quick to answer my questions, and helpful as we were able to access the apartment before the official timeline, taking in consideration that the place had to be cleaned before our arrival as someone was living it on the morning of our arrival. My husband and I have liked cooking in the apartment, and were looking forward to go back to our little ''pied Ć  terre'' in London at the end of each day after having walked all around London. A comfortable place to relaxe. N.

Lovely 1 bd flat in west London

Enjoyed a very wonderful stay in lovely west London flat. Nicely sized with a proper bedroom and kitchen, and updated throughout. The updated bathroom with full-sized tub was particularly pleasant after enjoying the city! Well-kept building on traditional tree-lined street. Window exposures to street and rear gardens allow for lots of sunlight. Very walkable to Portabello street markets and cafes, with all of central London just minutes away via the Ladbroke Grove underground (circle line), and just a short walk to the Holland Park or Notting Hill Gate stations (central line). Host was a definite pleasure and very responsive to any requests or questions. This flat is on my list for future visits!

Short London Stay

Caz is an excellent host. Very responsive. We had several questions and she responded super quickly and helpfully. Property is well located, on a quiet block, one of a block of flats in a large mansion. It was cozy, comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable place with great access to London.

The apartment suited our needs for a holiday in and around London. Access to London attractions was easy because it's very close to buses and trains. We were very comfortable there as it is well equipped and the living room was great for relaxing in. Also close to Portobello Road Market and also lots of food options.

Stayed here five years ago and it was such a good place we just had to come back. Excellent apartment. Everything was as good as last tiime. Would recommend to anyone. Only ten minute walk to catch the train that takes you anywhere..

I own four idiosyncratic homes - two in Chelsea, one in Ladbroke Grove and a wonderful house in Shepherd's Bush with a large South facing garden.
Occasionally an apartment is available for guests - it is a fabulous alternative to an hotel with the opportunity to enjoy a real neighbourhood experience - when not let one apartment gives me the chance to practice the saxophone to my hearts content - very quiet until I start! :)
