The Fitzgerald Manor BnB is Your Northwoods Destination !

Fitzgerald Manor is a spacious bed & breakfast nestled in the middle of 39 acres, five miles up from the northern shores of Lake Superior.

Constructed from 2002-2004 The Manor was designed by Becky & Mark to be a beautiful gathering place to spread out and enjoy each otherā€™s company.

Fitzgerald Manor is a true BnB, we live on site, residing on the 3rd floor. After breakfast there is a small amount of interaction. We are available as little or as much as you need us to be. As far as guests sounds filtering up to the 3rd floor, the quality construction of The Manor keeps it to a minimum.

With 10,000 square feet the Manor features seven large private bedrooms each with their own private bath. All have wonderful king size beds & ceiling fans. Five guest rooms have a gas fireplace and their bathroom has a two person whirlpool tub and walk in shower. Two guest rooms have a full bathroom with combination tub/shower.

The gourmet kitchen is available for your use with two prep islands, six burner double oven stove and two full size refrigerators. There is plenty of space to enjoy including a sitting room, great room, sun room, dining room and a huge library with books, games, DVD movies, and a karaoke machine to add to the fun.

The Manor has two attached porches. The south east porch is open and covered to enjoy the views of the meadow, the grazing deer or the summer fire flies. The south west porch is open for that barbeque feast and visiting around the picnic table.

Large groups are welcome with 6 additional twin size beds that can be set up in either the bedrooms or the student study room. All of the sleeping areas are located on the 2nd floor.

There is ample parking on blacktop.

Like all true BnBā€™s we offer a wonderful homemade hot breakfast each morning and typically serve at 9am.

The manorā€™s third floor is constructed to block noise so guest activities are not noticed.

We loved our stay at the Fitzgerald Manor BnB. Mark was a great host. Helpful from the start.Excellent 10/10 breakfasts. Wonderful property. Close to all the outdoor stuff you need. Large fire pit (like, 12 people can sit around it easily), on-property trails, all the room you could need for fun. Comfortable accommodations. We had 8 people and each room felt like a master suite. We'll be back.

Wonderful location!

We had a great time with 14 of us. Bedrooms with their own bathrooms is a huge plus. location is great as its close to two harbors, and multiple state parks. We had a small hiccup when we arrived, but Mark and Becky corrected it immediately. They are excellent hosts. Breakfasts were fantastic. And the ice cream social is still being talked about.

Above & Beyond!

The Fitzgerald Manor is now one of my favorite places to stay! Itā€™s spacious for large groups, the beds are very comfortable and the rooms have just about everything youā€™ll need for your stay! Mark and Becky went above and beyond to ensure a great stay, so kind and generous! The breakfasts were incredible and we were treated with the best homemade ice cream in home made waffles cones. There are so many activities to do inside and outside of the house along with walking trails around the property. I highly recommend the manor for your next visit to the Duluth/Two Harbors area, you will not be disappointed!!

My now husband and I had a small and intimate wedding in the Two Harbors area. We had our ceremony on the Black Beach and the reception at the Fitzgerald Manor where we were staying. We invited most of our friends and family attending the wedding to stay with us for the weekend, and it was absolutely perfect. Mark and Becky were so easy to work with about how we wanted to set things up for the reception, the use of amenities, and times to eat for the breakfasts they provided. Many of us stayed up until 2 or 3 in the morning to sing karaoke, and multiple people said the French toast was the best theyā€™ve ever had. Besides getting married, one of the most important parts of our weekend was to have a space for the people closest to us to enjoy themselves and each other, and the Fitzgerald Manor was the perfect place for it.

Fantastic Getaway!!

All of our family enjoyed our stay at the Fitzgerald! Our hosts were wonderful as well. It's difficult to find a place that could accommodate our large group and this fit the bill. The breakfasts provided were wonderful as well! We hope to come again another time. Such a beautiful area, too.

Beautiful home! Becky and Mark are great hosts. My Daughter's Wedding went perfectly, and we couldn't have done it without them. They're meals (breakfast and dinner) for 24 people was amazing. We will definitely book with them in the future.

Mark and Becky allowed us to host our small wedding reception at their beautiful home. From start to finish, they were the most warm, inviting, accommodating people. Every reasonable request of ours was granted, and everyone who visited was astonished and wondered how we stumbled upon such an incredible place!Breakfast every day was not only a major stress relief throughout a busy weekend, but also some of the best breakfast food weā€™ve had in a long time. Mark let us choose the menu for each day and even accommodated some extra guests one of the mornings! The bedrooms were all very comfortable and clean, too! Everyone enjoyed nice baths and cozy beds to unwind, we had a comfortable place to all get ready on wedding day, and nobody was worried about their formal wear getting dusty or dirty with the absolutely spotless floors. With some guests having a less than positive experience with lodging in town, we were so thankful for this to have been not just a place to host a reception, but our home for the weekend. We are so excited to plan future visits back!

Lovely Family Trip

Had a lovely surprise getaway with family and friends at the Fitzgerald Manor, our 2nd time staying there. The spacious room, abundant space for hanging out, and the basement theater room & game room make for a wonderful place to get everyone together. I reached out to Mark and Becky about having my wedding at The Manor. They were great with their communication and were excited to have us! The weekend was amazing and both Mark and Becky were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The breakfasts they made for the group were sooooo delicious as well!!! Incredible stay!

We loved our stay at the Manor. Mark and Becky are fantastic hosts. We stayed over a weekend for my husbandā€™s birthday with a bunch of our friends and had a great time. We played yard games and volleyball, had a fire, and at night we sang karaoke and watched movies in the theater. The breakfasts were delicious and had great portions, and the ice cream social with homemade ice cream and waffle cones was out of this world. Not a soul left this weekend hungry. We highly recommend a stay at the Manor!

Fitzgerald Manor ā€œThe Castle Houseā€

A true family destination for our family reunion. This is a unique property that provides so much more than any other place weā€™ve stayed. Mark cooked delicious breakfasts each day at a time of our choosing, respected our privacy, had fresh coffee ready early each morning, had 6 kinds of fresh baked cookies available, a well equipped play room, library, bedrooms & bathrooms. The property has hiking trails & a large deck, fire pit & games. We loved the hospitality & peaceful location so close to Two Harbors, Gooseberry & Split Rock state parks. Canā€™t say enough about this property & host!!

Northwoods Getaway with Friends

We enjoyed several northshore activities close to the Two Harbors area including hiking, biking, golf, state parks, and local breweries, as well as the VRBO property firepit and outdoor deck. The host couple were both very friendly and accomodating of our party's request to cook some meals together. It was more of a BnB experience whereas we were used to traveling as a group to high-end VRBOs. Breakfasts were delicious with plenty of carbs and protein for a morning hike.

Mark and Becky are incredible hosts! Their manor is stunning and radiates the same warmth and natural beauty that they themselves embody. All of which was taken from the property. There was plenty of space for our large group. The 17 of us stayed comfortably and we easily could have fit a few more. Breakfast was a highlight each morning, and the French toast is something weā€™ll all be dreaming about for a long time.I loved being able to walk the trail on the property, and the location is perfect with Gooseberry Falls just a short drive away.Having access to such an amazing kitchen was truly a dream come true. Cooking for a big group is usually a challenge, but the space Mark and Becky designed makes it so much easier (3 sinks?! amazing!). The game room in the basement was a huge hit with everyone: karaoke, movies, billiards, puzzles, board games, and even a real popcorn machine made us feel completely spoiled all weekend long. Other than our quick trip to Gooseberry Falls, we barely felt the need to leave because the manor itself is a relaxing oasis. Highly, highly recommend! We're already hoping to come back in the future and see the progress on the projects they have in the works. Especially the hand-laid tile art Becky is creating in the foyer!

Great Weekend

We are a group of friends who have been taking an annual Minnesota Fall Colors trip since the 1980ā€™s. Our group is 10-13 people, depending on the year and we have stayed at various resorts over the years. Although we like being on the Lake Superior shore, we decided to give the Manor a try. We were not disappointed! This is a great place for a larger group and Mark and Becky were excellent hosts. Breakfasts were phenomenal! Plenty of activities, inside and out for everyone. 5 stars!

Wonderful Place!

We had a wonderful family reunion /celebration of life for my husband. The manor was so kid friendly! We had 6 children from ages 2-10. There was a play room that was in view of the living room so we could chat and still watch the littles! There was lots to do just at the manor between the games room downstairs, the theater with a popcorn machine, TVs in every room! The rooms were gorgeous with an amazing bathroom for each one. Becky and Mark were lovely hosts and we never felt we were bothering them with our questions. The breakfasts were delicious! I highly recommend this B&B. Oh and Stella their pooch was a huge hit! Thank you so much for making this so memorable!

Runcation Up North - Perfect Retreat!

Mark and Becky were the most fabulous of hosts for our group! The food was AMAZING and the attention to detail was top notch! And the property itself is just gorgeous - what a wonderful retreat up north! Leading up to our trip Mark was so great at communicating and answering our questions so we could plan for our events, and throughout our weekend both Mark and Becky were so great at answering questions and going out of their way with details to make our stay extra special. (Thanks for that extra surprise of homemade waffle cones and ice cream on Saturday night!:) We booked 2 more upcoming trips with them before even leaving the property. Can't wait to return in March!

50th Wedding Anniversary

The sleeping arrangements are outstanding. Private baths in all 7 large bedroomsā€”most with walk-in showers and whirlpool tubsā€”all with king beds. Easy to add cots for families who wish to include children in their bedroom. Very good, well appointed movie theatre. Excellent dining area where all 14 of us were able to gather around a single table. Professional grade kitchen with ample refrigeration. Large portion, delicious, and varied breakfasts prepared at our selected times by owners. Pool table, outside basketball area, large comfortable library, toy/play area. The house easily accommodated our 4 families, allowing both for large gatherings and private spaces. Mark and Becky are very accommodating and excellent hosts. While they live in the 3rd floor, they are invisible other than morning breakfasts and occasional conversation. Thank you!

We had a great time

We are a family of 20+ that needed a large home for a mini-family reunion and this fit the bill. The bedrooms were perfect (clean, well decorated and spacious) and the host had extra beds to fit us all. The bathrooms were clean and really wonderful. Most did have a little something wrong (paint tape or missing tiles) but were overall luxurious. Breakfast was a dream...that french toast bake...OMG!!! Mark had s'more supplies, campfire wood and lots of outdoor games for us. We were surprised to find that there are parts of the home that we were using that were under construction. Also, there is a very high-energy dog that is out in the house and the yard during the morning hours. This makes sense as the owners do live in the home but we were unaware upon rental that there was a pet in residence. Generally, Mark and Beck stay on the 3rd floor, but we did see them periodically throughout the day. They are more interactive with guests than most VRBO owners, but it works since they are friendly and quite pleasant. Overall, this was almost perfect and, after adjusting a few expectations, we had an amazing time. Be aware that this is a non-traditional VRBO set up and if you keep that in mind, you will have a wonderful experience.
