Your Beach House in Paradise
Casa Que Pasa is a modern, California-style beach home perched on a private 2-acre hillside, offering breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by lush tropical greenery.
The home comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests:
• Main Level (Upper Floor): 1 bedroom with en-suite bathroom, open-plan kitchen, dining and living area.
• Lower Level (Ground Floor): 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a sitting area, and laundry room.
Please note: The two levels are connected by an exterior staircase only — there is no interior access between floors, offering added privacy for your group.

Marvelous House (and Location) to Hang Around and Relax

A gorgeous, open, custom-designed contemporary private house (home). Open and spacious - every bedroom looks out upon the patio and pool and beyond the Pacific Ocean. Lush grounds - safe and secluded location. I went for three runs up and down the road while I was there. A few minutes walk down the driveway and up the road to three different secluded beaches, one with a small waterfall - not so much for swimming - but for exploring intimate tropical experiences. Less than 10 minutes to Playa Carillo, and about 20 minutes to Samara. Michael (owner) was great, very responsive and reached out to us to make sure things were going OK, and asking if there was anything we needed. David (host) was also very pleasant and accommodating. There is some shade to found over the pool throughout the day - more as you get into the afternoon, and the huge patio umbrella was also a blessing, as it allowed us to spend a great deal of time on the patio throughout our stay.

Paradise

We loved our stay at Casa Que Pasa. Playa Carrillo was a short drive from the house, and the little town in between the house and the beach had nice little restaurants and a small grocer. The house was comfortable - we loved cooling off in the pool and watching sunsets from the upper balcony. The kitchen was well appointed, and we were able to save some money by cooking several meals at the house. All in all it was a dream trip. We can’t wait to come back!

Amazing!

The pictures do not do this house or the view justice. Do not be put off by the lack of air conditioning. The temperature in the house is basically perfect. We felt safe and had the privacy we wanted. The beach in front of the house is amazing so do yourself a favor and check the low tide schedule and go exploring. To get to the beach, turn right out of the driveway and climb down the path by the waterfall or go a few meters further and take an easier path down. My partner wants to book this place again soon. It was perfection.

Beautiful and Well-Designed!

This property was great for our family trip. It has a beautiful natural setting, with views of the ocean and trees. The owner and local property manager were very kind and helpful. We loved the pool, being so close to several beaches. Cannot wait to return!

Beautiful home

Home was beautiful however wish there was a TV laundry machine didn't work 3 of my 6 day stay and broken glass was left pool side little guy cut his foot. Also pool filters didn't actually turn on until day we were leaving even though we let property manager know about it. Besides all that home is beautiful with a breathtaking view, monkeys and birds all over tthe property made for beautiful morning yoga

Great stay!

I really like the architecture of this house. There are two balconies which run the length house and overlook the patio, and these have floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors. Your view is of the Pacific Ocean, that's all, so I hope you don't mind too much. Entering the property, you will open the gates which swing outward. The driveway is a bit long and on an incline. You will swing your car around to face the side of the house, and you may be greeted by one or two crabs who like to hang out in the rocks near the front door (under the exterior stairs). They will be terrified of you, so if you want a photo of them, have your camera ready. They tend to peek out in the evening (you probably won't see them during the day). The door under/just beyond the exterior stairs will lead you to almost like a breezeway area. There are two bedrooms on this first floor, one bathroom, and a laundry/utility room. This utility room has a washtub and the washing machine (which is new and does a great job). There is one hamper that I found (in the upstairs bedroom closet), and you will need this to transfer your clothes to the dryer, which is in the next county. Just kidding. You do need to walk about 30 seconds to get to the dryer. Exit the laundry room and you will see the front door on your right and a second, matching door on your left. Go through that door, and you will see a clothes line in an area of the house that most resembles a narrow courtyard. Walk to the end of this courtyard and turn right. You will then see a really nice outdoor dining area and the pool (very clean and nice) on your left. The dryer is located in a funny little room with a rather short door with a padlock near the pool which is essentially like a basement, except it's above ground. You'll see. Anyhow, the dryer works wonderfully as well - I had no issues doing laundry. You may see some wonderful dragonflies flitting around the trees above the pool - I saw an amazing red dragonfly, but he or she was too swift for me to be able to take a photo. I also saw a small monkey in one of the trees in the front yard. Speaking of monkeys - you will hear howler monkeys, and they may wake you up about 5:15-5:30am each morning. This is the wonderful thing about Costa Rica - how can you really complain about waking up just after dawn when you were woken up by howler monkeys? I have less than 100 characters left. OK - the ceiling fans are wired opposite, so that "4" is slow and "1" is fast.

Nice place, car needed for sure!

I enjoyed sharing this place with my friends, it is obvious that due to the location of the house there is lots of humidity in the rooms and closets, we found a scorpion in our closet right next to our clothes, but totally understandable due to the location in the middle of nowhere. Its important for everyone to know that walking distance there is no store or anything you must have a car to move around. The house is amazingly nice equipped and has everything needed to enjoy the weekend. The only thing I consider would be an extra plus is a bathroom next to the pool area. The outlets near the pool aren't working except for one. Good place, far from everything. No AC, it did get hot during the day but we would head out to the pool or beach to refresh ourselves. I apologize for the noise caused the night of my birthday, we exceeded the noise thinking we didn't have neighbors. Also if the outside garage door was automatic from the inside would be a great plus! Walking down to close the gate in the middle of the night was not fun at all. Thanks for sharing the space with us.

Modernes Haus mit tollem Blick auf das Mer

Wir haben fast eine Woche im Casa Que Pasa verbracht und uns dort “ sauwohl “ gefühlt. Ein sehr modernes Haus mit allen Dingen, die man benötigt oder sogar ein bisschen mehr. Schöne Schlafzimmer, zwei moderne Bäder, ein großes Wohnzimmer, eine gut ausgestattete Küche, ein toller Blick von der Veranda auf das Meer ( wir haben eine Gruppe von 18 Pelikanen vorbeifliegen gesehen) und ein prima funktionierendes Internet. Der Pool ist etwas größer, als es auf den Bildern scheint. Wir haben ihn eifrig genutzt. Die Entfernung zum Playa Carillo beträgt max. 10 Minuten, diverse gute Restaurants liegen recht nahe. Brüllaffen sangen uns übrigens ein Willkommenslied! Das Einchecken war sehr einfach, Michael und Linda waren per email immer ansprechbar und haben uns mit Tipps versorgt. Es war für uns eine sehr, sehr angenehme Woche! Walter und Karen

Vacation Bliss

Loved our stay. The house was exactly as described, the location was even better than being on a beach. The monkeys and birds were constant friends. We missed seeing the turtle that laid her eggs on the beach we could walk to and would have loved to have seen it. Amazing!

What a terrific home for a family vacation!

Casa Que Pasa was the perfect place for our family to enjoy the beaches and forests of the area. We loved the house layout, pool, and grounds. Watching the birds in the morning became a daily coffee ritual and plunging into the pool at night was a great way to cool off. Thanks for making this great property available for our family. We’d love to come back.

Wonderful Stay

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Que Pasa. Michael the homeowner was very responsive to all our questions prior to arrival. David and Lesdy the property managers were great to work with. We booked two tours with their company Samara Adventures and would recommend using their services to see more of the area. The views from the house are breath taking and the pool is awesome for afternoon and evening dips to cool off. The kitchen is well equipped and there are plenty of towels for the beach. The house is located about 20 minutes outside of Samara. We drove into Samara for lunch or dinner six of our seven days (Coco's, Sheriff Rustic and Franks) and ate lunch one day in Carillo at Hula Jungle which is just 10 mins away. If you are looking for serenity this is your place. You can walk down to two beaches from the house to climb the rocks and check out the tidal pools at low tide. The sunsets from the balcony in the evening are just as lovely as they are from any of the local beaches. We saw howler monkeys and an array of birds at the house and macaws and a spider monkey nearby. We highly recommend staying at Casa Que Pasa if you are looking to get away from it all.

Quick Costa Rican Getaway

Communication with Michael and David from the beginning was great - everything was very clear and we really had no hiccups getting settled in, even with our flight landing a bit earlier than expected. The house is very well appointed - one of the best rental homes we've ever stayed in, so it made it very comfortable for us on our first big trip away with our one year old. From the property it's very easy to reach a couple of beaches on foot, and a very quick drive in to Playa Carrillo or into Samara - but the pool is also an excellent option, and nicely shaded in the afternoon. Overall we had a fantastic trip!

Die perfekte Location für einen entspannten Familienurlaub: Das Haus bietet jeden Komfort und ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der Blick auf den Pazifik ist herrlich! In der Nähe des Hauses gibt es wunderschöne Strände auf ausgedehnte Bade- und Surftage. Ein reichhaltiges Sport- und Abenteuerangebot bietet „Sámara Adventure Company“. Peaceful vacation stay

We had a lovely weeks vacation at Casa Que Pasa. Absolutely gorgeous ocean views, beautiful gardens and pool with cool bugs! Amazing birds and even saw some whales from the upstairs balcony. Owner was very helpful especially after our initial flight delay-even refunded us a night stay because we arrived a day late! We would love to stay here again in the future. Thank you so much

Modern treehouse feel

Owner(Michael) and property manager(David) were very easy to work with and very responsive. The house was perfect for our family, we actually only used the upstairs. Location was great, it was situated at the back of the property so it was nice and quiet. It was a little bit of a drive to Sámara, but close enough to go frequently. We highly recommend this house if your coming to this area. Thanks again for a great stay.

Costa Rica retreat

Chill with a view

Experiencing Casa Que Pasa more than exceeded my expectations. The location was perfect for what I was looking for, relaxation! A beautifully designed house, our 5 and 8 yr old daughters, my husband and I loved it!

The pool and view of the ocean were perfect, nearby Playa Carmilla was stunning with white sand and calm waters for swimming. One morning we watched families of monkeys crossing the trees in our backyard and birds woke us every am. The sunrise and sunset were spectacular. What a restful and zen experience for our family, thank you for sharing your home, Michael!

Beautiful home and setting; would happily return with our family!

This was our third trip to Costa Rica and we had many favorites in this trip! We travel as a family of 5 and have fallen in love with the country. The owner Michael was very responsive throughout the booking process and welcoming with much information about how to get to the home and things to do in the area. The local manager David and his wife were also very accessible and helpful. The home is beautiful with gorgeous views of the Pacific and sounds of the many birds and howler monkeys. The pool was a welcome cool off spot at the end of the day. We enjoyed the secluded location but could easily drive to Carillo beach (so fun for boogie boarding and beautiful for walks on the beach) as well as Carillo and larger Samara for restaurants and shopping. We hope to return again to Casa Que Pasa!
