We had a lovely stay and Maxine and Bruce were kind and helpful when we had questions. We hope to get back there a couple more times this year. And it was a great place to bring dogs!

Nice Getaway cottage

Loved the private lake and having the electric motor pontoon to get out to the swim platform. Definitely should rent the golf cart to get your gear down to the lake. The kitchen is well stocked.

Great place to stay. The home is the kind of place you feel comfortable to kick off your shoes and put your feet up after a day on the lake or enjoying the campfire. It is very quiet and such a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Watching the cows and their babies is a hoot. Reminded us of our childhood on the farm.We will certainly look into another trip in the future!Thank you Bruce and Maxine for an enjoyable visit.

House was very cozy and hosts were great

We needed a place to house family for my son’s wedding. This place was perfect!! Maxine was great and was very accommodating . Fall colors were in bloom. Perfect n cozy spot for what we needed!! I’ll be back to enjoy the water in the summer!

Family Fishing Celebration

The home was spotless, cozy and had everything needed for a great family vacation. The fishing was great and crystal clear water to swim from swim deck. The owners were very responsive and the cows were so cute. We can't wait to return.

Great country home

We really enjoyed our stay. The owners are so helpful and respond quickly. We enjoyed watching the cows and the one cow who hid her baby so well. He got over onto the property, so we kept an eye on him till they got there. Very relaxing stay.

Getaway and Faster Horses Music Festival

The country cabin was nice. Nice place to stay and relax yet kept us within 30 minutes of the Faster Horses venue. Hosts were great with communication but not over bothersome. We didn’t get to enjoy the other amenities but the pond looked great

Wonderful

Beautiful setting with the surrounding farmland as your view every morning. The house is well equipped with some lovely extras I have yet to see at other rentals. Highly recommend!!

Maxine was very kind and very accommodating. We were in town for residency at Spring Arbor University it was nice to “come home” each evening instead of staying in a hotel. We enjoyed our experience.

wonderful setting

The house was very nice and comfortable. Weather was good one day and then high winds and rain. Got to the lake and saw sand hill cranes in the grasses. Could use a few kitchen items like real plates and bowls. Maybe some serving dishes or casserole dish. Perfect for a get away! Would love to come again!

Maxine was very helpful and responded quickly to our questions. The cottage is lovely and everything we needed was there. We had toddlers visit and I suggested they might want to add a booster seat or high chair and next thing I knew there was a booster seat delivered to the back door. We had a lovely time!

Cozy and comfortable

Our family enjoyed staying here. Everything you need lots for kids and adults to do. Games, cards, cd,dvd’s, great selection of tv programs too. If you enjoy nature this is the place to be. Seeing the cows as you walk out the back porch in the morning was great. We all enjoyed the fishing, canoeing, swimming and campfires.Maxine and Bruce were personable and attentive to our needs. Even though we didn’t need anything. Thank you for sharing the farm.

Lovely farm setting

It was a lovely farm setting and the hosts were wonderful. It is not a lake house. The lake is quite a long walk with several very heavy gates to lift and move. You absolutely must rent the golf cart. The house itself is in need of some updates/repairs. But again, the farm was pretty and the hosts were great people.

Annual family reunion

Every year close to the anniversary of my sisters death, I travel to MI to spend time with my nieces and their growing families. More family members wanted to make the trip this year, but the MI families could not accommodate us all. The Morningstar Cottage was a perfect solution. The hosts graciously allowed us to welcome family & friends to the cottage. My 4 nieces were within 1/2 hour drive of us and we were only 10 minutes from Pleasant Lake Campground where we hosted a large family gathering! It worked wonderfully!

Nice cottage

The cottage is very cute. The kitchen is well stocked. The bed was wonderful! Very quiet and peaceful surroundings. My dog got to meet some cows (from a distance)! Maxine was wonderful and the communication was excellent. She helped me out of an unfortunate situation and allowed me to check in a bit early which was much appreciated. Everything is as described. It is actually just a very short drive to town as well. Due to weather I didn’t get to fish in the lake but could actually see them in there just waiting to be caught!!!

Very nice relaxing and peaceful country get away.

We had a great time at Morningstar Farms Cottage. The house was super cute with an old country home charm. My family and I had a great time down at the lake, catching over 25 fish each day and then jumping off the raft for hours. The lake is crystal clear and both the kids and dogs loved swimming . We had our choice of using the pontoon boat, bass boat, row boat or canoe. We decided to rent the golf cart and the kids really enjoyed riding around and it was great to have to ride down to the lake and back. It was even fun watching the cows, my husband and I could of sat there for hours watching them. The burger we purchased from Bruce and Maxine was awesome, some of the best burgers we have had. Bruce and Maxine were the perfect hosts, the went WAY up and above what they needed to to make sure our stay was perfect. We will definitely be back next year.

Would not stay again.

Farm land is nice . Its an ok place to just sleep but we did not find it to be what we are use to. It has Well Water and it was nasty . Did not expect that at all. The window AC seemed to work in the Kitchen but the central air did not. Beds were not comfortable at all . Inside smelled like dog and we had to go get febreeze to mask the smell. Just was not pleased at all will go else where next time.

We loved the farm and cottage the first time we saw it. We realized the potential of this beautiful place. It is situated on top of a hill and you can see for miles. The farm is a working cattle farm with spectacular views 360 degrees.
