We had a lovely stay and Maxine and Bruce were kind and helpful when we had questions. We hope to get back there a couple more times this year. And it was a great place to bring dogs!

Nice Getaway cottage

Loved the private lake and having the electric motor pontoon to get out to the swim platform. Definitely should rent the golf cart to get your gear down to the lake. The kitchen is well stocked.

Great place to stay. The home is the kind of place you feel comfortable to kick off your shoes and put your feet up after a day on the lake or enjoying the campfire. It is very quiet and such a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Watching the cows and their babies is a hoot. Reminded us of our childhood on the farm.We will certainly look into another trip in the future!Thank you Bruce and Maxine for an enjoyable visit.

House was very cozy and hosts were great

We needed a place to house family for my son’s wedding. This place was perfect!! Maxine was great and was very accommodating . Fall colors were in bloom. Perfect n cozy spot for what we needed!! I’ll be back to enjoy the water in the summer!

Getaway and Faster Horses Music Festival

The country cabin was nice. Nice place to stay and relax yet kept us within 30 minutes of the Faster Horses venue. Hosts were great with communication but not over bothersome. We didn’t get to enjoy the other amenities but the pond looked great

Annual family reunion

Every year close to the anniversary of my sisters death, I travel to MI to spend time with my nieces and their growing families. More family members wanted to make the trip this year, but the MI families could not accommodate us all. The Morningstar Cottage was a perfect solution. The hosts graciously allowed us to welcome family & friends to the cottage. My 4 nieces were within 1/2 hour drive of us and we were only 10 minutes from Pleasant Lake Campground where we hosted a large family gathering! It worked wonderfully!

Maxine was very helpful and responded quickly to our questions. The cottage is lovely and everything we needed was there. We had toddlers visit and I suggested they might want to add a booster seat or high chair and next thing I knew there was a booster seat delivered to the back door. We had a lovely time!

Great country home

We really enjoyed our stay. The owners are so helpful and respond quickly. We enjoyed watching the cows and the one cow who hid her baby so well. He got over onto the property, so we kept an eye on him till they got there. Very relaxing stay.

Lovely farm setting

It was a lovely farm setting and the hosts were wonderful. It is not a lake house. The lake is quite a long walk with several very heavy gates to lift and move. You absolutely must rent the golf cart. The house itself is in need of some updates/repairs. But again, the farm was pretty and the hosts were great people.

Nice cottage

The cottage is very cute. The kitchen is well stocked. The bed was wonderful! Very quiet and peaceful surroundings. My dog got to meet some cows (from a distance)! Maxine was wonderful and the communication was excellent. She helped me out of an unfortunate situation and allowed me to check in a bit early which was much appreciated. Everything is as described. It is actually just a very short drive to town as well. Due to weather I didn’t get to fish in the lake but could actually see them in there just waiting to be caught!!!

Family Fishing Celebration

The home was spotless, cozy and had everything needed for a great family vacation. The fishing was great and crystal clear water to swim from swim deck. The owners were very responsive and the cows were so cute. We can't wait to return.

Cozy and comfortable

Our family enjoyed staying here. Everything you need lots for kids and adults to do. Games, cards, cd,dvd’s, great selection of tv programs too. If you enjoy nature this is the place to be. Seeing the cows as you walk out the back porch in the morning was great. We all enjoyed the fishing, canoeing, swimming and campfires.Maxine and Bruce were personable and attentive to our needs. Even though we didn’t need anything. Thank you for sharing the farm.

Beautiful! Love this place! Clean and stocked!

The views from cottage and around property serene! You see neighbors' horses and goats. The owners Have lots of cows with their babies plus a few young Bulls adorable. I pet one finally after days of trust building, she gave me a few good licks on arms and hand. At the time we were there they had a momma barn kitty who has 4 baby kittens learning to hunt hiding under cows to get the birds lol Smart kitty's/great cows! and the pond and boats are fun. huge lily pads with beautiful yellow and white flowers. Lots of fish! Definity rent the golf cart to be getting around property huge and would be quite the haul with cooler and stuff to go on boats or spend day swimming. Even night cruising around on golf cart fun! Especially at dusk/night seen lots of deer! Bonfire every night! Bruce, Maxcine, and family are great people very accommodating. Pleasant Lake right down and around corner with sand beach to! Old town of Leslie not far also with some stores and restaurants. Had great time will be back for sure!

Beautiful place to stay

First of all the property is amazing. Waking up every morning making coffee and watching the cows with my family is the best start you can have for a day. Bruce and Maxine are just wonderful people and love talking to them and learning about the farm. Anything that we needed they provided or guided us in the right direction. Renting the golf cart was great too. Makes trips to the lake fast and easy also when traveling with the kids and a cooler. It was our second time staying there and we will be back again next year. I can’t wait to see my cows again.
