Perfect location for a family holiday

We can highly recommend this nicely converted stable in the middle of Kent. Perfectly located for the beach, local sights, Canterbury, Maidstone and mich much more. Our host Carol could not have been more friendly or helpful and she welcomed us and our 18 month old son with open arms. Top recommendation!

Wonderful

Carol is a super nice hostess who immediately made us feel at home. The cottage is small, but fine for a short stay. It was nice and warm and cosy during Christmas. There is more than enough to do in the area. Highly recommended is eating at the pub 'Chequers on the green'. We had a lovely week here!

If you like older buildings with charm this is a nice option. The rooms are small, but there is everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is placed in beautyful landscape on an quiet light traffic street. The landlady is very kind. Even though we are Germans we can understand her english very well. Good Location and beautiful views

Property was nicely situated on owner's land although some individual, private outdoor space would have been appreciated. The stairs were a little tricky (for us elderly folk) although probably would not be problematic to younger people - might be worth a mention in online listing though. Carol was exceedingly pleasant, very friendly and helpful and we very much enjoyed out stay.

Thank you, Pam, I note your comment about the stairs. The original access to upstairs, then a hayloft, was via the external gantry and when the conversion was done I didn’t think visitors would appreciate using them! A dog legged flight was the only option with a small bend at the bottom. I hope that I didn’t fail to tell you that visitors are welcome to use all 2 acres of paddocks and many wander across and sit in the summerhouse near the pond and enjoy watching the swallows swoop across the large pond. When there are visitors in the cottage we do not use that summerhouse and the fenced area surrounding it so that visitors can have privacy. Thanks again for your review. I enjoyed meeting you both.

Down on the farm

An amazing location with peace and quiet in abundance. Beautiful scenery and the stay was made even more wonderful with the sheep and chickens to keep us entertained. We enjoyed a lazy afternoon one day, sat in the summer house with a bottle of wine and watched the dragon flies flitting over the Lilly pads in the pond. So relaxing and peaceful.

Charming cottage

Charming cottage in the relaxing Kent countryside, equipped with everything you need. Really warm host and our daughter loved the animals, and in particular the dogs Sophie and Katie :) Well located close to Rye and the beaches of Camber Sands or St Mary's Bay, and possibility of being in London very quickly by train (15 min by car then 35 min from Ashford station). One week was too short to visit everything!

you cant get more rural than this

This is a historical property converted stables, Historical properties come with creaking floors, low doorways but they more than make up for it in charm and character. it is in the perfect location to experience the Kent countryside, sheep and chickes outside the window. Short drive to the local pub and town.

Thank you, Jeffery. It was pleasant meeting you both. I appreciate your review. The two 2’3” beds are in the small bedroom which is intended and marketed as suitable for children. There is a photo/diagram of the room layout with measurements on the website. The bed in the main bedroom is a standard double bed with a Sealy good quality mattress that was replaced only a couple of years ago. You may have been confused as you asked for two single duvets for the double bed instead of the double duvet. I did mention to your wife that in the future I may remove the bath and install a shower as less people take a bath nowadays.

Great Location and Hosts!

Carol was a lovely host and made us feel very welcome upon arrival. We got to pat one of her adorable dogs and see cute sheep out the window every day. Lovely place to stay if you like quiet and a rural location! Some of the roads close to the cottage are one way just to bare in mind and we had deer crossing where the woods are one night (which we were very excited to see!), so please drive carefully. Cottage was nicely decorated and comfortable, and with a smart TV which was an added bonus! Will definitely recommend to family and friends :) Thank you so much for a lovely stay! :)

Wonderful nice cottage

We had a wonderful time in the nice cottage. We felt really welcome. Carol and Robin are great hosts and we enjoyed staying there. The cottage is cosy and we had everything we needed. It's a good starting point to lots of old castles, beaches, gardens and also to London. The dogs, sheeps and chickens are so nice and where always a pleasure for the children when we came back after a long sightseeing day. They loved to go with Carol and the dogs and felt familiar. Carol offered lots of help and support in many ways. We just can say thank you and hope to come back!

Our perfect accomodation

For us the Stable was the perfect accomodation for our stay in beautiful Kent. We loved the setting between paddocks and fields with wildlife all around. The Lane beneath the cottage was not to busy, so we felt no disturbance from traffic. The rooms were perfectly sized for our needs and absolutely cosy and well equipped. We loved the chats with Carol and her husband when meeting on the grounds. They made us feel very welcome and were very helpful. The dogs are lovely and the chicken´s eggs were delicious. We will definitely come back.

Wonderful place

The cottage is well maintained. It was spotlessly clean on our arrival. It had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped and we got eggs from our owners' chickens. We were free to wander across the owners' cottages and fields and to meet the owners animals, which live very close! The location is peaceful and absolutely quiet but close enough to a number of villages, towns and beaches in the car. The owner greeted us on arrival and were very friendly and helpful. Our children enjoyed being able to feed the chickens and play with the dogs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the scenery around the cottage is stunning. We will definitely be returning.

Charming cottage with a warm welcome

We stayed in the cottage for a week in May. The detached cottage is well situated on the premises next to the home of the host. Carol is a helpful and amiable host and she loves animals. She took one of our daugthers for a long walk with her dogs and our daugther really enjoyed. The cottage is a former stable, the rooms are cozy with beautiful old beams in the walls and doorposts. Like in all older houses, tall people should mind their head (> 1,90 m) in some places, but this is part of the charming character. There is a lot of space outside, you can linger in the yard or at the small garden house with a book and enjoy the silence of the countryside. Also a lot of room for the car. Apart from spending the day near the cottage enjoying peace of mind and going for a walk, the location is perfect for trips to Hastings, Canterburry, Dover, Rye, Maidstone to name a few. All within 30-45 minutes drive. Do not forget to go for an English breakfast in nearby Tenterden.
