This beautifully appointed hillside home in the heart of Black Mountain overlooks the trees in a residential neighborhood in town. Immaculate and well-maintained, this is your perfect home away from home. Relax on the inviting front porch or cookout on the back deck. In the winter stay warm and cozy by the gas-burning brick fireplace. Walk to Lake Tomahawk for relaxation, swimming pool, splashpad, playground, jogging, live music and activities in the summer. Golf, dining, shopping, and more only a short walking distance away. Charming downtown Black Mountain is approximately 1 mile. Easy to access, it's an ideal home base for exploring the area's many ways to play amid nature's beauty. Asheville is 15-20 minutes away.

Two levels of living space are fully furnished with a gourmand's kitchen, charming tableware, high-quality towels and linens, down-alternative comforters and elegant colorful quilts. State-of-the-art electronics include high speed wireless internet, phone service, bluetooth stereo, large screen TV with DVD player, Sling TV, Netflix and more. The master suite pampers you with a king bed, private bath, walk-in closet and a huge picture window overlooking the natural back yard. The 2 guest bedrooms offer 1 queen and 2 twin beds, accommodating 6 guests total at the house. Pack-n-play available for little ones. All bedrooms are upstairs.

The house is beautiful and well taken care of. The king size bed is comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking on site though we ate out most of the time. A gas grill is also provided on the deck. The location is great for getting to Black Mountain, it’s even walkable. And Asheville is minutes away too.

Great Place to Stay

This is our second time staying. With three bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms, this is very comfortable for multiple people. We will definitely stay here again when in Black Mountain.

Tree Top Vacation in Black Mountain

This VRBO is located in a Black Mountain neighborhood convenient to Lake Tomahawk where in late September it is pleasant to walk and meet the friendly, welcoming residents and visitors to the town. Asheville, Lake Lure and points along the Blue Ridge Parkway are a short drive away.The hosts of Tree Top have created a clean, comfortable space for families to relax, play games, prepare meals in the conveniently organized kitchen and sleep in spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Outside seating for 4 is on the front porch facing the street and for 2 on the small porch in the rear. The check-in and check-out processes were easy. It is a great VRBO for visitors who plan to tour the area and enjoy the nearby trails and natural attractions.

Black Mountain Get Away

We had a great Labor Day weekend in Black Mountain. The house had plenty of room for our family of four and is very close to downtown. We’re looking forward to coming back again.

Great location

The house was clean and neat. Everything we needed. There was a slight concern with some ants in the kitchen. House was close to the lake and a nice walking neighborhood. Bedrooms were nice and beds were very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place. Thank you for a lovely stay at your home.

Comfortable and clean home great base for area activities

Overall, everything was great! Bedrooms, living area were very comfortable; gas fireplace wonderful for ambience and extra warmth. TV offerings great, appliances are fine. Host was pleasant to communicate with and finding the rental was easy. There were really nice touches like having the Christmas tree. Great base to get to many activities. The only reason I gave 4 stars is my pickiness. The neighborhood is fine, but I do like a little more space between neighbors, though we never did see anyone. Would have been nice to have a firepit to cook marshmallows around for our grandson (and us!). The master bathroom sinks were really low and had to stoop down a lot. The lights in there were extremely bright...would be nice to have a lowlight option to use in the middle of the night. We ended up moving a nightlight into the bathroom to see by. The master bedroom have very light thin curtains, and sometimes we want more darkness to sleep in longer on vacation, so would be nice to have double curtains: sheer + room darkening. There weren't any non-stick pans so it was very challenging to cook eggs and grilled cheese sandwiches. But overall we really enjoyed our stay and recommend to anyone, and we would certainly consider staying there again! Thanks for making our holiday great!

Enjoy the mountains and go "home" every night

This house is close to so much. We would drive the Blue Ridge Parkway or explore the Smokeys or backroads and come back that afternoon or evening to our "own" bed. The next morning fix breakfast, make a sack lunch and head out again. Beautiful setting in a nice small neighborhood. House will accommodate quite a few folks. Enjoyed some local eats too. Black Mountain is a nice destination within itself and the house is in the heart of the area. Nice big pond with walking path a couple blocks over. People in the neighborhood walk their dogs too.

Everything I wanted plus a bonus great host

The short story: I would definitely stay here again, and I would recommend it to friends. The house was in pristine condition. It was comfortable and met all of our needs. We loved walking to Lake Tomahawk every day, and we also walked to the town center for yoga, shopping, and dining. Supplies like fluffy white towels were in abundance! The host replied to all my inquiries within minutes, and I felt well cared for. I'm exceedingly delighted that this lovely home served as our base for adventures up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway and in Asheville.

Black Mountain Treasure

Great, comfortable, clean, centrally located home! Minutes away from downtown Black Mountain where you can enjoy good eats and stroll easily around its shops and historic sites. A 30 min drive to Ashville (Biltmore, botanical gardens and much more) and add a few more minutes drive to neighboring sister towns (don’t miss Hendersonville). Highly recommend this hidden gem!

Beautiful home

We really enjoyed our say in your beautiful home. The house was exactly as described. It has all of the needed amenities and then some. We did not cook while we were there, but we could have as the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. The house is very spacious and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and it was very nice having the half bath downstairs in addition to two full bathrooms upstairs. The location of the house is perfect. You are within just a few minutes from just about everything and only a short drive to the interstate which will take you anywhere you wanted to be from Asheville to Hendersonville. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Interior updates & close to town

The location near Lake Tomahawk and Black Mountain town was the main motivating factor for selecting this reservation and it met those expectations. The interior was clean and furnishings were updated and in good shape. The appliances were a bit dated, but in good condition and the house was stocked with the necessary basics. The pictures were cropped such that they didn't provide insight into how close the house was to a busy street without a shoulder, so we were a bit disappointed by the lack of outdoor space in either the front yard (which was basically just a short driveway) and the back yard (which didn't have any place to sit other than the very small back patio).

Great spot to relax

We truly enjoyed every minute of our week in this lovely home. Lake Tomahawk is an easy week and great for running, walking and people watching. The town center is also easily accessible by foot. We feel grateful to have staying here, and loved sitting out on both the front and back porch areas. Highly recommended.

Nice home

We were staying at another VRBO rental and the power went out. We scrambled to find another location and came across this home in our search. Communication was good, finding the home was easy and pictures matched the interior. Exterior of home is a little tired and needs some maintenance. Curling shutters and the huge weed growing out from the porch had us hesitating when we pulled in. Sitting on the front porch was not appealing due to dirt and cobwebs. ..it could use a good cleaning. Inside, the house matched the pictures and was very comfortable. The baseboards and walls could use a good wipedown. When we checked the beds, the king bed had hair on it. Assuming the bedding was on the floor at some point and no one realized it it had hair on the sheets when they made it? We brought our own sheets and comforters, so we just changed everything to be sure it was clean. There were ants in the kitchen when we got to the home. Due to a lot of rain, we figured that's why we saw them. I messaged the homeowner and let her know we pulled an ant trap from their supplies and put it out. Due to the last minute shuffle for our family, we were thankful to find somewhere to stay that was decent and in a good neighborhood. It was convenient to town and central to things we planned to do during our stay. I appreciated that the decorations were simple and the home felt comfortable.
