1721 Mackerel Lane side A. Carolina / Kure Beach NC 28428. Built in 2016. Well maintained and CLEAN. Three bedrooms each with a private bath. Close to public beach access.
0.3 mile /5 blocks to the ocean and the Alabama Ave public access has a bathroom and shower house with paid parking lot.
Household items such as dish soap, trash bags laundry detergent and more are included.
Parking for 3 cars in driveway. 3 cars max please. No pets/no exceptions. No smoking. MUST BE 30 or older to rent. photo Id must match cc holder and renter must be present for the entire stay. Max adults 6. I have twin beds in each room and a "kids room" to accommodate families with children. Groups of up to 10 including children ok (extra guest fees apply) If interested in renting entire house (6 bedroom 8 bathroom) please inquire. See Vrbo listing 854770 for photos of side B. Interested in long term rental please contact Margaret Mullins with Complete Home Exteriors NC. New furnishings, Linens, Hardwood, Granite, tile. Very Nice! Lower level suite has bedroom with queen bed and twin sleeper chair. Full bath with tub/shower. Smart TVs in all rooms with internet, netflix. Main floor has large living room sofa and a love seat. No sleeper sofa. Kitchen, half bath and laundry room with new HE washer and Dryer on main floor. Upstairs has a "kids room" 2 double beds 3 single beds. (mattresses pull out from under double beds) "kids" room sleeps 6 and also has a full bath with tub/shower. Main suite- king bed, private balcony, bathroom has a large whirlpool tub and glass shower. Flat screen smart TVs in all rooms /wifi. 5 blocks to beach. Public access on Alabama has metered parking, showers and bathrooms. Close to NC aquarium, CB boardwalk, Kure beach pier, fort fisher, and ferry to Southport/Bald Head Island.

And another one bartender!

This was our second stay at this property and it was just as enjoyable as the first. The location is just close enough to the beach for us (walkable by my 80 yo parents) and close to the paved walk/run/bike trail. The street is quiet and I feel safe letting my 10 to ride a bike on it. It’s very family friendly and we always get along with the renters next door.

Summer beach days

The duplex is cute, clean and well stocked. Just a heads up for future renters that the garage, pantry and several closets are locked so there is limited storage.

Beautiful Beach Home

This home was beautifully decorated, spotless, stocked with everything you could need, walking distance to the beach. Great communication with the owner. Highly recommend this lovely beach house!

Margaret was an excellent host. She was very responsive to our needs during our stay. I will definitely be booking with her again. Oh yeah the pictures do the house no justice, beautiful home.

Had a great vacation

Property was lovely and clean and was perfect for our family. We cooked every meal at home and kitchen was well stocked. Margaret was gracious, helpful and fast/easy to communicate with. Appreciated her as a host!

Perfect family get away

We had a last minute opportunity to getaway with family and loved this home! Mrs. Mullins was available and home had everything we needed. Only a few streets from the beach - easy walk and only a few minutes from anything else - Ft Fisher only minutes away. Will check into availability when we go again!

Clean, cozy, and a convenient location!

This home is very accommodating for a larger family...We had 6 adults and 6 children in our party and were all comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with supplies (other than food obviously) and ready to use. The house is about 6 blocks from the beach, roughly 5-10 min walk, but also has public parking if preferred. It's a 5-10 min drive to the Carolina Beach boardwalk, Kure Beach pier, Fort Fisher, and the aquarium. The owners were very hospitable and informative. I highly recommend this home and location. My family had a great time and great memories!

Good, but...

Don't get me wrong, this place is excellent! Great location (right where Carolina Beach turns into Kure Beach, 4 blocks inland from the beach), beautiful place with updated everything, outdoor shower, etc. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because bed sheets and towels (i.e. ANY type of towel - hand towels, bath towels, etc.) are NOT provided. She makes this clear in the property description, so it wasn't a surprise - we brought our own sheets. However, I didn't expect there to not be any hand towels in the bathrooms or anything. She does provide paper towels, which, due to the lack of hand towels, we ended using a ton of. Even bath towels would be nice so people don't have to use and waste so many paper towels. It's not like we were going to bring beach towel, hand towels, and bath towels on our trip - that takes up so much luggage room in addition to the bed sheets, and the beach towels get a ton of sand on them when you go to the beach so you can't use them to dry off from the shower you take when you get back from the beach. The other thing is that there are beds of every size (twin, full, queen, king), which on one hand is good because the unit can sleep a lot of people. However, If you are like us, you don't have bends of every size where you live, so you probably will need to go buy brand new sheets just to bring on vacation because they are not provided here. Kind of a hassle and an extra cost. All in all, great place, with a very responsive and kind host. Bottom line: if you don't mind bringing bed sheets and a ton of towels, this is the place for you.

Wonderful home...

But a bit far from the beach. House was well set up and the 18 of us spanning 3 generations had a great time. Having rented both sides, we had plenty of room. Owner is very responsive and accommodating, but the location is really is bit of a hike to the beach especially when temps are high.

Great House!

Terrific location. Spacious and beautifully decorated. Kitchen has all necessities, cable tv and private bath in each bedroom was great. Kids loved the bunk beds. Short walk to the beach but I did drive the kids back and forth a couple of times b/c of the July heat and all the beach gear.

Like New Duplex

This property is beautiful. It is like new, very clean, well equipped and beautifully decorated. It accommodated our family perfectly. I would highly recommend! Margaret was great to work with. She responded quickly with my questions as well as my security deposit refund. Thanks!!

Beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood

House slept 2 families comfortably. Clean and well stocked kitchen. Terrific location close to everything! Nice short walk to the beach. Had fun at the CB boardwalk, NC Aquarium, Kure Beach pier, and Arcade. The Island has lots of fun parks and places to go!

Great place!!

The house was beautiful inside and out! The split level makes it a great place for a family who wants time together as well as time apart. Just a short walk to the beach. Margaret was very responsive and helpful. Would stay here again if i returned to the area.

Beautiful, clean home in a great location

This was our first trip to Kure beach and the first time renting a home through VRBO. We couldn't have had a better experience. The house was beautiful. Exceptionally clean and tastefully decorated. There was more than enough room for our family of four to be comfortable. It is a short walk to the beach. The homeowner was quick to respond and very pleasant. We hope to visit next year and stay here again.

Comfortably Immaculate

Our family enjoyed a long weekend on Mother's Day in this home and the adjoining home. It was nice to be able to have two separate homes for our large family right next to each other. And it was much less expensive than hotel rooms. This home is immaculate, tastefully decorated and comfortable. You can definitely tell the home and furnishings are brand new giving the home a clean fresh feeling. The beds are very comfortable...very important after a fun-filled day. The home is in a quiet neighborhood situated close to the NC Aquarium and Fort Fisher. There is a beach access close by with restrooms and showers. Boating in this area is spectacular with incredible views, access to secluded islands and even restaurant docking. I highly recommend a boat outing.

Excellent !!

This town home was excellent for our family and friends! Our group was 2 families, 4 Adults and 6 children. There was Seating for everyone in the big living area. All the children were able to share one room with lots of beds. TV with great channel selections so children and parents were able to chill out after beach time. Upper level and lower level suites is a nice feature for Adults. Walk to the beach was not bad. Kitchen had what we needed. House was well stocked with household necessities so we did not need to pick up all the extras at the store. Master suite was beautifully decorated, it has a real island spa retreat feel. Of course we were on "pleasure island". Privacy of having 4 bathrooms was terrific.The owner/manager told us about the pleasureisland App for our phones that took the guessing out of traveling around the island. Carolina Beach area is real laid back. Beach and beach access are nice. We were allowed to set up tents on the beach for shade all day. Outdoor shower with warm water was good too. Until now we always stayed at hotels...not anymore. My friend and I were renting 2 hotel rooms costing $500 night in the past. Of course we did have to pack our own linens this time. Also, Driveway only fits 2 large vehicles, but all of that was made clear by the owner who was excellent with communicating and answering all questions.

It has always been a dream of ours to own a home at the coast. In May 2016 we purchased 1721 Mackerel Lane. Now we enjoy time at our favorite beach with our three children, family and friends.
