GREAT VIEW OF THE WHITE RIVER

Our vacation house is located on the banks of White River within 400 yards of the Norfork River/White River confluence. Boat rentals and a fishing tackle store are five minutes away in the town of Norfork. The house has river views from the living room, kitchen, dining room plus the screened-in back porch and can easily accommodate six people or more people. The river is literally at our back door so is not appropriate for young children. We are four miles from Norfork Dam/the Ackerman wade access on the Norfork River and the house is located in a peaceful attractive residential area. Due to a city ordinance for this residential area, we must rent our house for a minimum of a 30 consecutive days. Short term rentals are not allowed. Consequently, we are offering a rental rate for 30 days which is very competitive with the weekly rate advertised by resorts in the area which can legally do shorter term rentals. The advantage of choosing us is that you get 30 day base for doing a variety of different activities in the Norfork area. For example, if you live in Little Rock or Memphis you could spend 4 weekends in Norfork fishing and go back to work in the week. No one else will have access to the house during your rental period. If you are from farther afield and enjoy fly fishing, you could spend a few days experiencing wade fishing at the Ackermann access on the Norfork river (5 min drive from the house), then do float trips for a few days away from the house on the Buffalo National River (and try your hand at smallmouth, etc), then return to the house for few days of relaxation before trying more trout fishing day trips on the White River around the Cotter area (30 min drive the house). One can imagine many other types of adventures around the Norfork area.

The Ozark Highland Trail is nearby if you interested in hiking. Scenic Buffalo City is 17 miles away, where the Buffalo National River flows into the White River. Towns of Mountain Home and Mountain View are 10-15 miles away. The house has a large two car garage (we keep our car there), a well furnished kitchen, bedding, towels, etc. provided. Washer and dryer on site. We recently added internet access and a 40ā€ tv screen for our guests. Great base for many trout, smallmouth and lake fishing spots in Northwest Arkansas.

We understand a stay of 30 days can be a long time without your cherished pet, please contact us for specific arrangements (sleeping location, additional deposit, etc.)

Finally, we have a comfortable vacation house with an amazing view of the White River but it is not a resort. There are little quirks as all houses will have. But we love the relaxed atmosphere on the river and feel it is a bargain for the area.

Perfect, Peaceful Getaway

Lovely home with great views

The property was in a quiet neighborhood. The owners provided nearly everything we needed for the long comfortable stay. We enjoyed the availability of the nearby boat launch and rental.

Nice quiet place to stay. Very well stocked with whatever you will need, dishes, knives, pots n pans, etc. I brought a lot with me because some places do not have much but I didn't need my stuff. Good communication with owners.

Slice of Heaven

So sad to leave this little slice of Heaven! The views of the river everyday put the mind at ease. The covered back porch was the perfect setting for a glass of wine and to unwind. The little town of Norfork on the other side of the river had the cutest little restaurants and market. Pjs and Whispering Winds are favorites to take friends out for a nice dinner! Hiking, boating and floating are close by for the non-fishermen. All around a great place to stay!

Relaxing month on the river!

We really enjoyed our stay. Peaceful mornings on the porch, fishing the White river, guided walleye trip and party barge rental on Bull Shoals lake! We're already looking forward to our next trip.

Spring 2021 Work Vacation

Property was all that was advertised (no surprises)! ! Excellent location that provided quick access to Norfork and White River walk-in fly fishing access. Being a remote telecommuter, I was able to continue my work seamlessly. The differences were the river view and at the end of the work day, I could grab my waders and head to several world class fly fishing access points. My weekend guests all enjoyed the property and all enjoyed their stays. The property owners (Vicky and John) were excellent hosts. They would reach out via text to assure that I had everything needed. The communication was excellent and they were quick to respond if I had questions. To summarize, I hope to do this again next year (maybe sooner if things work out).

Love the scenery. Beautiful view of the river. A peaceful location in a nice quiet neighborhood not far from town. The house is nicely furnished and has all of the amenities that you could need. Vickey and John are excellent host.

Had a great time at this beautiful property. Great location in a quite neighborhood, so peaceful right on the White River. Great view from living room, kitchen and the awesome screened in deck we enjoyed so much. Close to Mountain Home for shopping or going out to eat. Great host. Wonderful Winter Get Away

We truly enjoyed our stay. The house was everything we had hoped it would be. It was well stocked with kitchen utensils, and linens. We loved waking up to the beautiful sunrises, and the sun streaming in the window overlooking the mountain and the White and Norfork Rivers. It is located in a very nice friendly neighborhood, with great views and great people. The weather was in deed much better than what we had left behind at home (no -35 degrees below zero here). It is located close to many local attractions for day trips or scenic drives. We would definitely love to book this location, but for a longer period of time. Vickie grew up nearby (in Sidney, Arkansas) and we return often to visit relatives that live close by. John can be found fly fishing below Norfork Dam when the dam is not releasing water.

Almost all of Vickie's relatives live in this area and we return often to visit. John has been fly fishing since he was a boy and this house was a perfect fit for both of us. Vickie's sister lives near Norfork and frequents yard sales quite often. She mentioned she had seen a cute house for sale in Norfork a couple of years age and we checked it out online. We did not buy that place but Vickie became a bit compulsive looking at the area real estate. We happened to be visiting last spring and decided to look at a few of the places seen. This place had us hooked as soon as saw the view from the living room. If you decide to stay at our house you will understand.
