Villa Alegre is a cosy well appointed villa with private swimming pool recently fully renewed (2025), free and unlimited wi-fi, Smart Tv and air conditioning in all bedrooms and living room, situated in a privileged location 6 km west of Albufeira, hidden away in an exclusive and very peaceful housing estate of only 10 villas.

Outside
The property is completely fenced and a gated entrance leads to a small parking area right on front of the villa. The south facing swimming pool is enclosed by terraces with sun loungers,al fresco dining area and brick barbecue.

Entrance hall. Living room with smart TV, dining area and direct access to pool area. Kitchen with breakfast bar, ceramic hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, electric kettle, coffee machine, toaster, iron and direct access to barbecue area (next to swimming pool).
One bedroom with a double bed with its own bathroom.
One bedroom with twin beds (x2) and its own bathroom as well.
One bedroom with twin beds (x2), with the third bathroom in front ( bathtub/ shower).

Location and facilities were great

This is a sizeable villa, plenty of space facilities and equipment for 6. Rooftop terrace is nice, great views. Pool is a little tired but all in order. Beds very comfy, bathrooms all clean. A fab restaurant a couple of minutes walk, other stuff - shops beach etc by car. A great stay all round.

Great stay

Pool in need of some repair & updating of showers would be good. We also received no cleaning service during the week as advertised. However, we had a great week's stay.

Dear Jocelyn, We greatly appreciate your feedback and are glad the stay pleased overall. We apologize specifically for the pool which had a long ago scheduled repair pre-season, but unfortunately the team responsible did not respect its commitments and the pool sustained more damage througout the season. A full buildup is scheduled for november 2024 as soon as the season ends since we cannot perform such massive work during season. We hired the best, and am confident the pool will be better than on the photos this time. Regarding the cleaning i want to enphasize that obviously the cleaning is the same for all the stay/guest and is exclusive for check-in and check-out. But we apologize if there was any misscomunication on our part. Kind Regards Afonso

Loved this villa and have recently booked to return in 2026. Located in a very quiet area and easily commutable by car or Uber to nearby Albufeira, Marina and numerous nearby supermarkets, the home was really well equipped for everything needed for a comfortable stay. The air-con throughout was excellent and the pool (despite some negative reviews) had clearly been refurbished.We had the best stay here and while we considered stopping at neighbouring villas next time, our stay here was perfect.We had an issue with the water, which was out of the hosts control which affected all surrounding villas (due to some water works nearby) but the host was very responsive in the early hours when I did message, which did not tarnish our stay.I have never returned to the same place, but this is an exception. I can't wait to return in 2026.

Lovely villa

Very happy with the villa. Bedrooms good size. Bathrooms nice. Everything very clean. Pool area was beautiful and had walk in steps and a nice shallow area perfect for children. Walk to shops/bars/restaurants fairly level and easy. Golf course within walking distance. Beach a little further away but walkable. Kitchen well equipped. Some very minor maintenance niggles but nothing to put me booking again for next May

Wonderful 2 weeks

Just returned from a 2 week stay - 4 adults and a 15 and 11 year old. We stayed at the larger villa opposite last year but wanted to return to the area as a smaller party so chose this villa. The area is just perfect. Quiet and relaxing but close enough to busier places. We stayed for 2 weeks with no car. You can Uber to anywhere. We ventured to Albufeira, the marina (highly recommend), Armação de Para, Gale etc and had no trouble getting a 7 seater Uber. Aldi is a 10 mins walk away (just Uber back with larger shopping amounts). You can get the big red open top bus from down by the Salgados hotel which is good to explore the local area and goes all the way to Villamoura. Dolphin and caves boat trip is also a great trip (booked online with Seacre). The villa has everything you need. Be aware that there is nothing on your arrival - no water, basics such as as oil, condiments, dishwasher tablets etc so you do need to do a supermarket run as you arrive. The only thing I would say is to echo what others have said about the pool. There are tiles missing from the bottom (I caught my feet a couple of times) so it is in need of some repair but this wouldn’t stop me booking the villa again. There are only 5 loungers but there were 6 of us and the umbrellas definitely need replacing. There also aren’t enough of them. By 2pm there is little shade and it was very hot. When the pool water went a funny colour, the pool guy came the next day after I reported it. A fabulous holiday!

Our objective was a quiet holiday, walking along the coast in the mornings, lounging around the pool in the afternoons. Alegre was a great home from home providing a lot of privacy with only the side of another villa (on a lower level) within view. The estate of 9 villa’s is lovely and quiet. The other Villas are like mansions. Alegre is the smallest, but can easily accommodate 6 adults. It’s bigger than the photographs show. It also has a roof terrace and lovely garden that is well maintained. I enjoyed walking down to the recycle area each evening (glass of wine in hand) admiring the properties and gardens on the way. A rental car is essential. We programmed many beach car parks from Albufeira to Lagos into the Sat Nav, which made exploring easy. It is possible to walk to the nearest beach. However, it is not a nice walk. Equally, the walk to the local shops/bars/restaurants is not great, so we choose to drive. The advantage is that so many nice and convenient places can be reached in a very short time by car including spectacular beaches, Algarve Shopping Centre, Splash Parks and Zoo Marine to name just a few. Apolonia is a good sized supermarket about 5 minutes drive that has everything you could need. Rui, his team and everyone we met in Portugal were very friendly. Even the car rental people! The communication with Rui was excellent, very fast responses. I was very comfortable that we had made a good choice after the first contact. Being able to pay through the HomeAway site also adds confidence. The villa is a mature property. The kitchen in particular is a little tired. However, it is very clean and has everything you could possibly need. The Sat TV has loads of English TV. The WiFi is strong even out by the pool. 2 cute friendly cats come around in the evenings to entertain the guests, or looking for leftover Piri Piri Chicken. Probably the latter. Top Tip; On the day of arrival, to avoid going out for dinner after a long day travelling, the Tenis Pizzeria delivers great pizza and pasta direct to the villa. I have scored the villa 5 stars. I would have scored 6 if more information leaflets for the local area and attractions were provided. Perhaps menus for local restaurants, takeaway and delivery services. The provision of charcoal for the BBQ would be a welcome gesture and a makeover for the kitchen would help. I have recommended the villa to my friends/family and hope to return very soon. The only real negative was having to leave.

Ótima semana!

Casa muito bem idealizada. Não muito grande mas com 3 boas suites. Cozinha muito bem equipada. O exterior tem muito pouca área mas a piscina compensa: é otima Anfitriões muito simpáticos e disponíveis.

The villa and pool were first class but the whole experience was tempered by poor house keepingfor example bath towel with a large hole and some clearly worn out3 toilet rolls left for 5 people is hardly enough to cope at first A few bin bags would have been helpful tooHard to keep kitchen clean without surface cleaner and application toolsThere were not enough sun parasols for 5 bedsThe one left on the roof terrace was too heavy to move down.Other wise apart from some inaccuracies as to property descriptions we had a good holiday

Schöne Villa mit Pool in Strandnähe

Wir hatten eine sehr erholsame Woche in der Villa Alegre. Die Anlage ist grundsätzlich schön und gut ausgestattet. An einigen Ecken sollte jedoch etwas renoviert werden (Pool, Bad).

Great Property lovely pool

We had a super two week stay in Villa Alegre with our two teenage children. The property is spacious and it was lovely having three bathrooms and bedrooms, air-con was excellent. The local beach in Galé was superb and full of locals which we loved. The street that the villa is on feels very safe and the elderly lady who owns a few villas on the street is often sweeping up and checking everywhere! (She is very sweet and obviously cares.) The villa itself is very clean and the layout is great. It is a little 'tired and a bit old fashioned' but to be honest we probably couldn't have afforded to stay there if it was newly done up! We loved playing table tennis too, great for with teenagers. A car is essential and Aldi is just a couple of minutes drive down the road. Fab place to stay we'd highly recommend. Only negatives were trivial - foam mattress topper on bed was hot. Outdoor dining seating could have done with more comfortable pads to sit on. Would have appreciated a few extras to have been included like bin bags.

Wat een prachtige plek!

We hebben genoten van het mooie huisje dat van alle gemakken is voorzien en van de mooie rustige locatie. Echt een plek om even helemaal tot rust te komen, terwijl het strand op 5 minuten rijden is en Albufeira op een kwartiertje. En de eigenaar is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We komen zeker nog een keer terug!
