Heated indoor swimming pool (shared with hotel guests, 15m x 6m, depth 1m to 1.5m) with changing facilities, shower facilities and Jacuzzi section, open 7.30am-8pm every day. Putting green. Bike store. Private parking for 4 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is an unfenced lake and stream in the grounds, 600 yards.. Situated within 600 acres of the Fleet Oak Woods, this spacious, semi-detached holiday cottage, with woodland walks direct from the door, offers a peaceful retreat from which to explore the Solway Coast, with its many sandy beaches and rocky coves. Situated within the grounds of the Cally Palace Hotel, guests have free access to the hotel’s facilities, including the swimming pool and gym, putting green and croquet lawn. Golf is available at a discounted rate. It is within walking distance of the Burgh of Gatehouse of Fleet, with shops, cafés and restaurants. The town also boasts the Mill on the Fleet, an exhibition of historical arts and skills. There is great walking throughout the area, with the Galloway Forest Park having marked cycle paths and walks, bird and wildlife to enjoy. Also available throughout the local area are fishing, golfing and water sports. Kirkcudbright, the artist’s town, offers many art and craft shops, as well as Castle Douglas, Scotland’s food town, with many specialist shops close by. Cardoness Castle and the Cally Gardens, with an unusual variety of plants, are well worth a visit. Just 6 miles away is The Cocoabean Company, a great, interactive day out for young and old alike. Beach 3 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

Park cottage was good overall, very spacious and comfortable, there was a couple of things that could be improved like replace the broken blind on the front door, and lots of trailing electrical extension leads, with very young toddlers this could be dangerous.The use of the pool and facilities at the hotel was very good, the forest surrounding the area was good for walks and cutting through to the villiage where theirs pubs and a spar for groceries if you run low on supplies.We all enjoyed our relaxing holiday at park cottage, we will return hopefully in the future 🙂

It was very clean and well presented. The rooms were great. Having a washer and dryer made a big difference with there being 12 of us. From 4 year old grandson to myself and husband both over 70! The rest in between. Could do with a bit of a facelift. Garden was great. But again could do with tidying.

Great location, tired house

Park Cottage is set in a lovely location in Cally Woods (so many great walks and cycle opportunities). Also with use of the Cally Palace Hotel facilities including the swimming pool. However the house was unclean, especially the kitchen with unusable pans and not enough cutlery to sit 9 people in one setting. There was black mould on the downstairs bathroom ceiling. Such a shame as the cottage is a great space for families and could be lovely, but when I have fed back about these issues I have not received any response.

There were 9 of us and a dog.

There were 9 of us and a dog. The most important aspect of this house was that it was large and had lots of spaces where people could break out into. Whilst the house was a little tired and needed some maintenance, it was perfect for what we needed for our stay.The kitchen is bigger than the photos and was perfect as we cooked most nights. The dining area was a great place where we could all sit around the large table easily. There was a pool/utility room although the small pool table was wonky with broken cushions so nobody knew where their balls were going. The room with the TV and console in was a great idea, however all of the games were for an Xbox and it was a Playstation! There were plenty of board games.The bedrooms were spacious and the linen was clean.The house was lovely and warm too when it was cold outside.It was nice to have the hotel nearby as the kids loved the swimming pool which was bigger than we expected. They also found a full sized pool table and snooker table (which they wished they'd found earlier!).All in all a great stay and would definitely recommend for large groups.

Beautiful relaxing break

Our group was 7 adults & 2 kids and we had more than enough room. The property was very clean & had everything we needed. Lovely walks throughout Cally Palace grounds & enjoyed the swimming pool & sauna. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

We thoroughly enjoyed the cottage and lovely location. It was a shame, but understandable, the hotel facilities were not open due to covid, but we did enjoy a fabulous lunch at the hotel. We hope to return sometime! Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Park Cottage is a large house so great for larger groups.

Park Cottage is a large house so great for larger groups. We were 8 and had ample room to spare. Location is great for lots of nearby walks and accessing Galloway Park and beyond. Quiet and secluded on a v large wooded estate with deer, squirrels, birdlife, etc... Just a short walk into Gatehouse of Fleet. Kitchen fairly well equipped. Kids enjoyed the mini pool table, consoles, jigsaws and boardgames. Wifi good in the living room but signal too weak for elsewhere in the building. Proper fireplace - but can get smoky so we didn't use it much. A little bit pricey - we came during Phase 3 lockdown so a lot of the facilities at Cally Hotel weren't open/available to us. I think if they were fully open it would probably be good value for money. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

A lovely well appointed cottage for a large group. Very comfortable and clean. Lots of space for 10 of us, young and old, and lots to do. It was very very cold weather during our stay and my only criticism would be that the real fire was a bit smokey and not always effective. Some of the rooms are large and quite tricky to heat. Suggest an extra sofa in the living room so everyone in a large group could have a comfy seat. Apart from that thoroughly enjoyed our time and will be back

Homely spacious cottage very near classy hotel with swimming pool and golf course on doorstep. Two lounges and 2 TVs Warmed up house with lovely cotton sheets on arrival. Staff are obliging- brought us more kindling for fire. Easy laundry and drying facilities. Enclosed garden and BBQ ( not used as late nov mber) Beautiful woodland and parkland setting with coast one way and galloway hills the other. Only 6 of us so really spacious! Might be a bit difficult to feed full complement together- we tended to use kitchen table as kids were young. I have suggested more table cutlery. Relaxing feel.

This is the perfect cottage for a large family.

This is the perfect cottage for a large family. Lots of rooms and plenty of privacy if you want it. Staff at the hotel were fantastic and we took full advantage of the use of the pool. Couldn't do much outdoors as it rained most of the week but we always go prepared! The grounds and walks were also very good and suited all abilities. Looking forward to visiting again.

Park cottage was a great place for all 13 of us ( 3 sibling families ). Lots of space for the children to run around and for the adults to have there own space so it didn't feel like we was in each others pockets. Amazing space outside to play and relax and great walks everywhere so never a boring moment. It has everything you need for a home away from home wether you are wanting to relax or use it as a base to explore around. The house is a little dated and in need of some modernization and slight repairs but it doesn't take away from having a great time. Staff quarters are next door but the whole time we was there we didn't hear anything from them.Would definitely recommend Park Cottage

Slight inaccuracies in description. Only one fridge/freezer and one very large fridge rather than two fridge /freezers. No welcome pack provided - hotel made amends. Downstairs bedroom windows could not be opened because of large weeds/plants outside - uncomfortable in hot weather. Perhaps these areas could be strimmed. This would be great house for family group.

Very spacious cottage, in a beautiful location.

Very spacious cottage, in a beautiful location. The carpets are a little dated, but when staying with children and a pet, that is much preferred than worrying about walking mud in. We enjoyed the use of the hotel facilities. It's only a short walk to the town centre. Would definitely return.

Had a great week at park cottage. It was ideal for our friends and family. We enjoyed the grounds of the Cally Palace Hotel and the fact we could use the facilities of the Hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The cottage is very well equipped and has an amazing size garden. It is very spacious and enough room for everybody. It is very much in need of modernization, definitely new carpets would be a start and then new beds and headboards would be an improvement .The main lounge is a great size but does smell smoky from the fire place but this adds to the character of the house. Even though it is a bit old fashioned I would definitely book this again. Loved the house and area.

very good overall.

very good overall. plenty accommodation in Park Cottage for 3 families and everything you need. lovely setting adjacent to Golf course and a short walk (3 - 4 mins) to Cally Palace Hotel where we used the pool facilities during our stay. The decor in Cottage is dated but perfectly adequate for a relaxing stay. The heating system was very good with plenty hot water.
