A large, detached holiday home which has a wood burner in the living room and lovely views towards the Avonside Hills. A great base for families or couples sharing.. 2 steps to entrance (with ramp access).

Bathroom: Bath, Cubicle Shower, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial fuel for wood burner included. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate available on request.. Large, enclosed garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Travel north to the highest village in the Scottish Highlands, Tomintoul, where a warm welcome awaits. This detached holiday home is set on the outskirts of this quaint village and backs onto fields with the Avonside Hills as a panoramic backdrop. Furnished with style and comfort in mind, it is an ideal base to explore this magical region. Whisky lovers will enjoy the delights of the Whisky Trail, of which the famous Glenlivet is only a short drive away. Plenty of outdoor adventures can be had, horse riding from the village, skiing at nearby Lecht and the Cairngorms where fabulous hillwalking and mountain climbing can be enjoyed. Cyclists will love the Glenlivet Mountain Bike centre too. In addition, Landrover safaris or gorge walking at nearby Bridge of Brown will surely get the adrenalin going. Alternatively, bird watching or deer spotting will suit the less adventurous and for interesting shops and eateries, Tomintoul, Ballater, Grantown-on-Spey and Aviemore are all within easy reach. By total contrast, the beautiful Moray coastline is within an hour’s drive.

My wife and I couldn't fault this amazing house which had all the mod cons and was as clean and warm as anyone could wish for.But the location was another level - you can spend hours just looking out of the window at the stunning Cairngorms!Also, the back garden was properly secure for our little Westie to be let off the lead and know that she was safe.The village is small, which was fine by us, but still had three different places to eat out plus all the local folk we encountered were extremely friendly.All in all this was just perfect for us and we absolutely loved it!

What a fabulous House, Location and place this was for us.

What a fabulous House, Location and place this was for us. We arrived on Saturday 11th Jan when there was a foot of Snow still lying on the ground (a spectacular journey all the way up from Brinklow near Rugby particularly coming across the Cairngorms into Tomintaul). The Snow melted during our stay for the week but the scenery and outlook from Mountain View was still spectacular. The Cottage had everything we needed for the week we were there, we would definitely recommend this place as a great place to stay.

great location, lovely cottage

brilliant location to walk the Cairngorms. The cottage lives up to it's name you can actually see the mountains. Well equipped spacious cottage, lovingly decorated. However the fridge was not clean and the freezer contained food from previous tenants and badly needs defrosting. There was also quite a lot of left food in the cupboards, a lot of it out of date (which I have disposed of), which I do not find helpful. The upstairs shower does not drain, but there was a downstairs wet room, so we were fine.

Beautiful house in a stunning location.

Beautiful house in a stunning location. Lots of parking and outside space for good weather. Village is small and quiet but that is why we booked it. Plenty of local hiking on offer but be prepared to drive to do other activities. House could have been a bit cleaner (bits of veg in the sink the utility room and random dirty clothing in the bottom of the wardrobe in the ground floor double bedroom) but on the whole it was great and we would rebook if visiting that area again.
