Lovely quiet village. Enjoyed walk to the Bridestones and Dalby forest and train ride to Whitby.

Not impressed with the safety of the garden.

Not impressed with the safety of the garden. My dogs are small and could easily get through the railing and gate, had to chase after them. Settee and chairs very low. One of the single beds had no comfort due to the springs had to use the other one. Apart from that we had a lovely stay.

Unable to acces the first night

I did not recive access instructions prior to arrival. I tried calling the owner phone number given in the booking but it went to voice mail (three times) and I got no call back. Upon arrival I tried to Contact Cottages.com, but they close at 5:00pm! I called VRBO but they had the same issues as me. We had to find alternate accomodation for that night at a cost of £250! It finally was sorted the next morning but I have not recieved a credit for the night I was denied entry. Not a happy renter!

Amazing village with a "lost in time" feel

The property is close to a great walk that follows a stream into some fields and woodland. The village itself is very pretty and quiet. The property was perfect for our needs and we really enjoyed staying there. It took us a while to get over the fact that there is no TV service and no wi-fi but we coped. The only small issues were the lack of hot water for the bath but the independent shower was hot. the car parking space was a squeeze but we have a huge 4 x 4 truck. everything else was perfect.

A lovely weekend away in this beautiful cottage. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We particularly enjoyed the lovely garden and the pretty village location. I'm sure we will return.

The cottage and, the location of the house was excellent, neighbours were very friendly.

The cottage and, the location of the house was excellent, neighbours were very friendly. The only thing that stopped us giving a 10 rating on everything was that there was only one curtain on the landing window, and both bathrooms only had a net curtain which, because the windows were plain glass did not respect our privacy.

Loved visiting lilac cottage, what a stunning location.

Loved visiting lilac cottage, what a stunning location. Beautiful stream through the village, a local farm shop (season varies as do product availability, would advise to check prior to visiting) the pub in the village serves wonderful homemade food. The cottage had everything we could ask for with comfort and equipment. We weren’t sure what to expect upon arrival so only bought partial amenities and had to go back out to obtain more as no welcome pack on arrival which was a shame but was soon overlooked once settled. Lovely basket of things to do on the area and about local towns. No WiFi which has its pros and cons. Would certainly return.

Cottage details stated 2 bathrooms and we assumed both would have a toilet in.

Cottage details stated 2 bathrooms and we assumed both would have a toilet in. But the en-suite bathroom just had a shower and hand basin. Also there was a big step into the shower.

The cottage is ideally placed in the village of Sinnington for access to lovely dog walks in the countryside, and also near to the village pub / restaurant. The property is very cosy, clean, comfortable and well-equipped.
