Bathroom: Roll Top Bath, Cubicle Shower, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Cot, highchair and stairgate. Welcome pack. Enclosed lawned garden with sitting-out area, garden furniture and gas barbecue. 1 small dog welcome. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is a fenced stream in the garden, 55 yards away.. Mill Cottage is a delightful detached property in the grounds of the historic Old Mill House, furnished and decorated to a very good standard and offering ideal accommodation for those who enjoy quiet holidays in the country. Secluded, yet close to all the attractions, culture, history and shopping that York, Pocklington and Hull have to offer. This property offers the best of both worlds, so holidaymakers can enjoy gorgeous canal walks in clean country air and also vibrant city ambiance. A south-facing garden room to the side provides the usual entrance to the cottage (front door access to the cottage is available on request for those with reduced mobility) and a ground floor bedroom with an en-suite shower room provides further convenient facilities for those with restricted mobility. A quirky feature of the renovation is the room off the first-floor bedroom with a super king-size bed created in the old beams. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 2½ miles.

Mill Cottage is set in a wonderfully peaceful location with lovely walks along the banks of the canal on the doorstep and the Yorshire Wolds and coast not too far away. The nearby hamet has no facilities but Pocklington is not too far for shopping and fuel. Inside, much of the cottage is rather dark requiring lights on even during bright summer days and we did find cobwebs around some of the windows. Most disappointing, do not expect to be able to actually see the "chocolate box" view of the cottage shown on the booking website, as this is taken from the owners private garden, nor have the apparent outside space this picture implies. The actual garden and parking space is rather small and the drive is narrow. However, it is reasonable value for money and we did enjoy our holiday.

A wonderful cottage in a great peaceful location, a car is essential for sightseeing in York, Whitby & Scarborough but walks from the door allow you to access local villages with Pubs & Shops. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need for a home away from home feel & the summer room gives a sense of separation within the group if needed. Would fully recommend.

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location.

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Only 30mins from York, 1 hour from Scarborough, great for walking. The owners live right next door and are very friendly, they keep out of your way and there is your own private driveway for access. The cottage is well equipped, there are toys, games, books, DVDs, a whole pile of leaflets for days out. The kitchen has all you could need for cooking and dining in. Towels and beautiful bedding are provided. The cottage was warm and cosy. On arrival we were welcomed with a bottle of wine, chocolates and cake (a lovely extra touch). There is a gas bbq in the garden which you are able to use. There is a tv and DVD player, also a radio.

Excellent little cottage, really nice inside.

Excellent little cottage, really nice inside. Very comfortable, enjoyed evenings sat in conservatory relaxing, playing games. Quiet, with good close walks up and down the canal. Excellent for dog owners. Brilliant welcome, bottle of wine and chocolates, thank you. The radio was on which made it feel a lot more homely and inviting when we arrived. No faults at all here, will look to return next year. 100% brill.

An excellent well equipped cottage. Ideally located for those interested in walking. Pocklington is only a few minutes drive and there are supermarkets and shops there. Everything needed for a good holiday is provided. Would recommend

A delightful cottage, beautifully decorated with lots of little extras that make it feel like home. Its very well equipped and comfortable and even has games, books and dvd's. We enjoyed sitting in the conservatory in the evening listening to the bird song. The rural setting was ideal for our relaxing holiday, but not too far from amenities. The countryside is beautiful and there's lots to see and do in the area. There is a secure garden which was great for the dog, but it wasn't as big as we expected from the photos. However, there are fields and walks right from the door, so our dog was happy. We would definitely come back here.

A fabulous holiday cottage down a quiet lane just a short walk from the lovely Pocklington Canal, neighbouring the owners Old Mill with the river running through just next door. The cottage is cosy and very welcoming, the owners are incredibly helpful but don't interfere in your holiday unnecessarily. The bathrooms are beautiful and the bed raised up into the beams upstairs was a huge hit with my daughter. They have a lovely selection of children's toys & jigsaws plus a big selection of childrens and adult DVDs and books. A very clean, welcoming, perfect cottage for a family break away with the most fabulously equipped kitchen I've ever found in a self catering holiday home. Endless options of cooking utensils, oven dishes, trays etc etc......not the usual half broken potato peeler and just one knife here!!
