Situated above the sea, Casita Linda Vista is perfectly centrally located on a private, peaceful 3 acre hilltop estate property. Casita Linda Vista and Casa Linda Vista property is tucked into beautiful wooded surroundings offering seclusion with spacious, clean accommodations set back a few hundred yards off the northwest end of Playa Grande. The 3 acre property borders the Las Baulas National Park and the excellent surf breaks at Playa Grande a short few minutes walk away.

Casita Linda Vista is ideal for those seeking tranquility, comfort and easy access to a wide variety of leisure activities. You can choose to prepare meals at home or dine in more than a dozen local restaurants.

Connect with nature! Monkeys, iguanas, birds, cool breezes and pretty views. It is private, quite and secure. We are very close to everything. It is only seconds to the beach, restaurants, small market and the laid back village of Playa Grande. The houses are affordable, fully equipped, clean and comfortable. It's truly a peaceful getaway at Casa Azul and Casa Linda Vista, Playa Grande.

The host was very welcoming going as far as to meet us right out front. Not at all intrusive during the stay but if we did come across him he would ask how it was going and if we needed anything. He was very pleasant and the home was beautiful. I would absolutely stay again!

Lovely, peaceful

The casita is sweet and perfectly appointed. Lots of windows and pleasant. The host, Kai, is kind and helpful. If you don’t need to be on the beach and enjoy some seclusion, this is your place.

Playa grande

Craig is a great host. If you want a rustic, peaceful, idyllic place to stay this is it. Good location, you van walk to the beach, restaurants etc. Enjoy!

Wonderful location surrounded by bird song and monkeys but had a difficult time communicating with the property owner. We enjoyed our stay at the property. I should have read the description in more detail as I was assuming there was air conditioning but there wasn’t. We did have two large ceiling fans and a wonderful cross draft which helped a lot.

A Real Costa Rican Experience

We loved this unique little cottage with jungle foliage surrounding it. It is immaculately clean and well maintained and gated for security. It was a slice of paradise for us!

Monkeys!

This is a lovely place to stay, great host, beautiful beaches in the vicinity. Howler monkeys woke us every morning, birdsong in the evening. The casita has everything needed for ease and comfort. Amazing sunsets!

Tranquil Setting

Casita Linda is in a tranquil setting with jungle views from every window. It’s clean and well maintained. It’s about a 10-minute walk to Playa Grande. Check-in was quick and easy. The owner, Kai lives on the property. The casita is cozy, and the kitchenette is equipped with the basic needs. The grounds are a beautiful testament to Kai’s hard work and love of the land. Be prepared to see Howler monkeys, iguanas, beautiful birds.

Beautiful Quiet Spot

This property is in a quiet location with wildlife everywhere. We were woken up by Howler monkeys in the trees outside. This place is a more authentic experience than staying at a large resort or a condo. It was VERY clean upon arrival and the owner greeted us and helped us check in. Its a wonderful spot about 5 minutes to the beach.

Kai has an amazing property, close walking distance to playa grande. The property was very tranquil, inviting and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing vacation. Kai was very helpful and made sure we had a great time. I would highly recommend his property. Thanks for some great memories.

Lovely Getaway

Property is lovely and rental very clean. Comfortable bed and great shower. Water is drinkable..no need for single use plastic. Craig was a thoughtful host. I felt secure as an older single woman and was not apprehensive about walking after dark. Three good restaurants within walking distance and beach is 10 minute walk and is very uncommercial.

Bungalo in the Woods

We stayed 4 nights at Casa Linda Vista and loved it! Mostly quiet-- a howling monkey occasionally broke the peace. Walking distance to the beach. Kai (Craig) was an excellent host. Our studio was enough room for the two of us. Not a lot of cooking utensils, but with Kiki's restsurant walking distance we didn't need to cook!

STAY HERE

The absolute most beautiful place i’ve ever stayed in ever. Craig went above and beyond to provide us with the best experience ever. Minutes away from the beach, I couldn’t ask for a better Costa Rica experience. Monkeys, iguanas, beautiful birds, and an adorable little cat named Sunshine all right out the back door. I would give Craig and this place 100000/10 stars if I could.

Bugs!

Kai is helpful. Relaxing atmosphere however there were many ants and several spiders with in the first 10 minutes of checkin. I found a spider in the sheets so we left and did not stay the night.

Casa Linda Vista

Kai is a wonderful host. He is present but so respectful of privacy.The Casa we rented for the week was out of a storybook. He is a marvelous gardener who has used the natural elements to create natural pathways and steps around several Casa's each in turn surrounded for privacy by lush rainforest. We visited pre-season and enjoyed the warm rains each day, the blooming flowers and happy trees as they drink in what they need for the coming dry months ahead. Lovely breakfast/lunch place walking distance from our little Casa... unique menu. Come to relax, and enjoy a cup of the best coffee in the world from the veranda. Or take a long walk or short drive to Playa Grande at sunset while the ocean tides beckon you. Next time we will visit the Sea Turtle refuge... but remember the tour is at night only!

The very best of Pura Vida!

First, Craig (Kai) is a terrific human! He came to Playa Grande 30+ years ago in search of the perfect wave and a remote environment. 30+ years later, Playa Grande has changed, but he's maintained a beautiful sanctuary among the trees with the ocean break in earshot. The property is as relaxed as Kai and the Howler Monkeys are. (We'd know - we lived and worked in Monteverde for 5 years.) Kai is very personable, informative, and always asked if we needed anything. We enjoyed every moment there, especially the waking hours sitting outside sharing a morning tea quietly contemplating the day or life with a big 'ol smile on our faces. Thank you, Kai, for your thoughtful creation and the sharing of your homestead:)

What a tranquil place! Kai was super kind and communicative. He was attentive and checked in but also gave us our space! We enjoyed monkeys and iguanas daily from the porch and the beach wasn't too far of a walk. The house is cozy and clean. Be aware that the house does not have A/C but has two ceiling fans and screened windows on every inch of wall space for airflow. And also be sure to clean up after yourself in the kitchen or you will have sugar ants within minutes. and they do bite. If you wipe up and keep sweet things in the fridge you wont have any problems! We personally found the ants to be a quirky charm of local living in Costa Rica. This was the perfect place to spend the last week of our honeymoon because it felt like home so fast.

Pure Vida

We had the pleasure of staying in both the Casita Linda Vista and Casa Azul during out 9 nights in Playa Grande. Located atop a hill, the grounds are beautifully maintained and offer the perfect, private retreat. The accommodations are also very well thought out, comfortable, clean and private. Wildlife abounds here and we awoke most mornings to the sounds of exotic birds and howler monkeys playing in the trees. We also saw armadillos, iguanas and a pizote on the property. It's less than a 10 minute walk to Playa Ventanas and Playa Grande, and although several restaurants are close (Kike's, El Huarto, El Pointe, Cafe Del Pueblo), we recommend renting a car for picking up groceries and visiting other restaurants. It was in the 90s during our stay, and without AC the accommodations can be rather hot during the day, but the fans and evening breezes keep it cool enough for sleeping at night. The Casita offers enough space for a couple, especially since most of our time was spent outside (imagine a studio apartment, or a standard hotel room with a kitchenette) and we absolutely loved the morning light and privacy. Casa Azul is more spacious, with a separate bedroom, sitting room and kitchen, so it's better for a family of 4, and would be our preference if we were staying more than a week. It also has more "yard", but it's a little less private since it sits closer to the big house. Kai is a wonderful host - non-intrusive, but available to provide information if desired. He was very accomodating when our travel plans changed. Our return flight was cancelled due to inclement weather back home, and we needed to stay an additional 2 days (terrible, right?). Although the Casita was reserved, Kai offered us Casa Azul without any hesitation. While in Playa Grande, we scouted out several other rentals that we had considered, as well as some of the hotels, and we could not have been happier with our choice. We hope to return to Costa Rica again year after year, and Casa Linda Vista is the only place we will stay. If you're looking for a private retreat away from tourists, but close to restaurants, beaches and wildlife - this is a great spot!

CAsita Linda Vista

A lovely little house located cleverly in the beautiful garden so that you hardly realise that there are other persons on the property. Completely self catering and at a walking distance (less than 10 minutes) to the Playa Grande beach and (20 minutes) to Playa Ventanas. Kai is a charming host.

Great place and great location!

Our family stayed in two of Kai's houses during the christmas holidays. We LOVED the houses and Playa Grande!!! Kai, the owner was wonderful and we had everything that we needed. Short walk to a fabulous, uncrowded surfing beach and great local restuarants within walking distance from the house. Our family for sure wants to return!

Perfectly charming

We absolutely loved it here. The grounds are beautiful, the house is charming and was perfect for the 2 of us with everything we needed and Kai was a great and attentive host. We absolutely loved the area, Playa Grande is a great little area and we loved and how close it was to the beach. We loved how secluded we felt on the property, but how close it still was to everything. We would definitely come here again.
