Our Ranch House Cottage sits above the town of Kona with beautiful views of the Kona Coast. We are a 10-acre gated estate. This unit has a private Hot Tub/Jacuzzi with magnificent views. We a working farm with miniature goats, sheep and chickens. Fresh fruit and fresh eggs provided when available. Sit on your private porch with porch swing and take in the views, enjoy the farm and friendly goats and chickens! We grow bananas, pineapples, and mangos and have these available to guests when in season.

Everything in the listing was accurately described. Great location! Private, yet convenient to everything. Home was very clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, and the towels were nice quality. The little welcome treats were appreciated.

Felt at Home

Great property, excellent location, safe neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay, shopping is from 10 minutes to 20 minutes away pending what you’re shopping for. The hot tub was a nice touch. Bed was comfortable. The kitchen has plenty dishes, pots and pans and utensils. The homeowners are amazing people and always asked if we needed anything. I appreciated that. If we are ever in the area, we will rent this home again

Overall, our stay was fantastic! Location was perfect, nice view and not too far away. Hospitality from the hosts was outstanding! We’ve always had good trips to the big island, but this VRBO was one of our best!

Peaceful ranch house with great ocean views. Nice separate house with lovely lanai looking over the property with views down to the ocean. Everything you need for a very comfortable stay!

Peaceful

Rick and Amy were wonderful hosts. The apartment was perfect for two people. The location gave us easy access to anywhere we wanted to go. We look forward to staying again in the near future.

Peaceful, Relaxing, Spectacular Sunset View

The cottage is so comfortable and well appointed. Laundry facilities are clean and well stocked. The lanai and hot tub are the perfect place to enjoy the famous Kailua-Kona sunsets. The hosts, Amy and Rick, are wonderful and have anticipated the needs of guests and stocked the cottage accordingly.

Awesome stay near Kona

Amy and Rick’s place is perfect for a stay when visiting the Big Island. The location is prime - only 10 mins from the Kona airport and downtown Kona. It is located in a beautiful farm so you will have some cute goats and chicken as your neighbor. The room is super spacious and well-maintained with some ocean view. There is also a big jacuzzi hot tub that’s absolutely a plus! I can’t wait to come back and stay at Amy and Rick’s place again.

Beautiful Stay in Paradise

Enjoyed our time at the ranch! This is a beautiful place to stay when visiting paradise! All our needs were taken care of and accommodations were fantastic! Nice to have such a wonderful home base to return to after a day of exploring.

Awesome Cottage on the Big Island 👍👍

We booked our stay in Kailua-Kona on very short notice and were so fortunate to get this place! We stayed ten days there and we cannot say enough good things about the cottage, or the owners Rick and Amy!! They made us feel so much at home it was hard to leave! Hidden Gem

We had a wonderful week here. The accommodations were spacious and well appointed. We especially enjoyed the porch and hot tub. The beach equipment (chairs, umbrellas, towels, flippers) was an added bonus. The cottage was a very calming place to return to in the evening after a day of exploring. It felt very safe and the variety of birds on the property were a delight to listen to. Amy and Rick were very welcoming and eager to share local knowledge. We would love to return some day!

Up Country Living

We ended up booking Amy and Rick's place just 3 days before traveling due to a very late cancelation from a Condon in Kona. This was a spacious well appointed 1 bed room 1 bath on the property on the Amy and Rick's. Green, cool evenings just a beautiful property. Amy and Rick were wonderful host and very accommodating. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Most wonderful stay in paradise

Amy and Rick are wonderful hosts and will treat you like family. They will make sure that you have everything you need and are there to answer all your questions and give you local advice. The cottage was exactly as advertised, very spacious with all the amenities one needs while on vacation. During our stay, their chickens were active and so they gave us fresh eggs from the coop. Rick even took us on an excursion to the most beautiful beach, Makalawena, which we would not have been able to reach as we did not rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The weather was perfect and the water was of the most stunning blues...it was better than a postcard come to life. Thanks, Amy and Rick for all your kindness.

As promised. So comfortable and relaxing. Rick and Amy are amazing hosts. Beautiful views .

The pre arrival instructions were clear and easy to follow. The guest cottage is appointed for comfort. Everything we needed was available for our visit. The laundry facilities were always clean and well stocked. The kitchen has everything we needed to prepare quick or elaborate meals depending on our mood. The location of the Ranch is ideal for getting around. High enough on the hill to have georgeous views of the coast and incredible sunsets but not so high that it was in the rain band. The hot tub was so relaxing at the end of the day! Rick’s photographs of the island are amazing.! The knowledge he and Amy have of where to go and things to see was condensed into one binder that was so useful. We enjoyed the other Hawaii guides but for a succinct explanation the binder could not be beat! Their opinion of places to eat and things to see was right on. We loved our Big Island stay. Mahalo Rick and Amy!

A place full of 'Ho'okipa' (Hawaiian hospitality).

'The tradition of welcoming guests and travelers with food and water is a literal description of ho’okipa.' The owners, Rick and Amy, were a full of Hawaiian hospitality and made us feel like we were special guests. My wife and I stayed at the Ranch Cottage for six nights and we loved it. The place was well stocked with kitchen & bath supplies, beach towels, beach chairs, snorkeling gears, mats, and coolers. There is a hot tub on the lanai. We gazed at the stars every night while soaking in the tub. The night sky was dark and the stars were so bright; and since The Big Island houses Mauna Kea Observatories, the faint streetlights we saw far away in the distance are more astronomer friendly.

The perfect Paradise

We really enjoyed our stay the cottage was perfect had everything we needed, the setting was perfect the Host's were really enjoyable.The location was perfect because the elevation around 1400' cooling off at night no need for airconditioning and the upper Hwy. allows for easy access to down town or going north(waimea, beaches etc.)A big Mahalo to Amy and Rick

Silver Oaks Ranch is a 10-acre gated estate with 40 Mile coast line views of the Kona Coast. We are a 10 minute drive to downtown Kona in one direction and 10 minutes to the Keahole-Kona Airport at a cool 1400 foot elevation. We fell in love with this property back in the mid to late 90's and hoped to retire here some day. So here we are! We enjoy Hawaii and the beautiful weather all year round.
