Peaceful, rural self catering 17th Century farm cottage with 12m pool. Ideal base to explore the unspoilt wonders of the Bearn region of The South-West of France. Walking, cycling, skiing, historic golf course, riding, bird watching, fishing or relaxing and watching the natural world go by. Day trips to Lourdes, Spain, Ski resorts and Biarritz's beaches. Open plan cosy living area with central heating and wood burning fire, fibre broadband, satellite TV, fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine etc. One double and one twin bedroom and bathroom. Countryside setting, grounds of one acre - badminton, table tennis, barbeques and simply releasing around the pool. Imagine summer BBQs watching the sun go down with a glass of local Jurancon wine and a swim under the Milky Way.

We received a warm welcome from Lizzie and Bob. The hosts were very kind and discreet. It's a wonderful area to relax and enjoy beautiful walks in the Pyrenees. A perfect place to spend a three-week holiday. We and our dog thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful garden. The swimming pool is beautifully landscaped and offers refreshment on hot days.

Lovely vacation

The house, the garden, the surroundings and not least Lizzie and Bob as hosts - everything was perfect. We had two fantastic weeks enjoying the good weather in the garden and pool, going on excursions in the mountains and seeing cave paintings in Gargas. The time passed far too quickly and we would really like to come again.

Wonderful peaceful countryside location

Lovely little cottage set in leafy gardens is perfect for chilling out on sunny days. Comfortably furnished and cosy with a well equipped kitchen it was a real home from home. Views of the mountains abound and the valleys are only a short drive away. The British owners were delightful and helpful throughout our stay and never intrusive. The pool was a great asset especially on the warmest days and lazing on sun loungers under the trees soon became a habit!

1 week at "le petit coin de paradis"

What a beautiful week. The weather was the appointement. A beautiful place where we found peace and good moments : fun in the swimming pool, magic watching starry night.... We can't forget Lizzie and Bob our hosts who were so respectfull and so welcoming! That why our family renamed the cottage : Le petit coin de paradis..."

Relaxing break

Excellent communication with the Lizzie and Bob. Clear guidance on how to get to the property. Great location. Ample space for our dog to roam freely in the garden. Nice characterful cottage. The only negatives, being very picky here, was the poor wifi coverage (only accessible in one of the bedrooms), and very weak mobile signal in the area. Lack of walking footpaths in the area other than private tracks leading to private properties, only options were to walk along the country lanes when dog walking or drive to a location where there were footpaths/walking routes (not that it is something that Bob and Lizzie can do anything about). Just something to be aware of.

Prachtig

Bij aankomst bleek dat de gastvrouw en heer alleelei lekkers hadden klaargelegd voor ons. Een lokaal wijntje, brood en boter en eieren en zelfs lokale kaas. Zoiets heb ik nog nooit meegemaakt en voelt buitengewoon aardig. De tuin is prachtig aangelegd en georienteerd richting pyreneeen. Zwembad is veel groter dan de foto's doen vermoeden en niet diep. Je kan er wel zwemmen naar vanaf een jaar of zes kan je er ook staan

Au calme et belle région !

Le gîte est idéalement situé.. Proche de nombreuses balades, villages sympathiques, villes animées ainsi que montagnes et vignobles ! Beaucoup de choses a voir dans cette belle région. La piscine a fait beaucoup de bien pendant les fortes chaleurs ! Le jardin est très agréable, avec une flore belle, variée et une faune incroyable ! Il faudrait peut-être ajouter quelques équipements dans la cuisine (couverts, assiettes, poêles). L'accueil de Bob et Lizzie, même a distance était parfait ! Avec une plante en souvenir qui deviendra un bel arbre !

fijne rustige plek in de groene Pyreneeën, prachtig uitzicht

Een werkelijk prachtig gelegen vakantiehuisje. Het uitzicht is betoverend. Bob en Lizzie -- die in het aanpalende huis wonen maar onze privacy zeer respecteerden -- zijn heel vriendelijk en wij voelden ons zeer welkom. Let op voor lange mensen: de bovenverdieping met de slaapkamers en badkamer is erg laag en je stoot makkelijk je hoofd!

Vue superbe, nature et tranquilité

Merci beaucoup à Lizzie et Bob pour leur accueil chaleureux et leur gentillesse. La propriété se situe dans cadre superbe pour qui aime le calme et la nature. Le jardin est magnifique, la vue est imprenable, et la piscine super accueillante après la chaleur de l'après-midi. La maison est assez grande, et bien équipée. On apprécie la fraîcheur du rez-de-chaussée (surtout notre bouvier bernois) et on supporte la chaleur dans les chambres mansardées grâce à la fraîcheur des nuits. Nous avons passé une agréable semaine dans la région, beaucoup de lieux à visiter, et pas assez de temps pour tout voir malheureusement. Merci encore à nos hôtes.

Un lieu incroyable

Nous avons passé 3 semaines dans cet incroyable lieu. En dépit d'une météo variable, nous avons bénéficié de tous les agrément du lieu : calme, un panorama et un jardin superbes (notre chien a adoré également), une piscine au top, un gite confortable et correctement équipé. Le gîte est idéalement situé pour qui veut explorer les 3 vallées béarnaises (Ossau, Aspe et Barouts). Lizzie et Bob sont des hôtes adorables avec qui nous avons eu grand plaisir à partager des moments de convivialité qui resteront dans notre mémoire

Jardin magnifique et piscine avec vue

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans la région, malgré les fortes chaleurs. La piscine, très agréable et le très beau jardin nous ont permis de profiter du beau temps après nos visites et nos randonnées. A l'intérieur, le gîte est de taille suffisante pour 4 personnes et correctement équipé pour cuisiner. Malgré la présence de grands ventilateurs, du fait de la canicule, nous avons eu chaud, dans les chambres, la nuit, car ce sont des pièces mansardées. Le plus important : Lizzie et Bob nous ont très bien accueillis et ont été des hôtes accessibles et chaleureux. Un grand merci à eux.

Joli coin de Nature

Accueil sympathique. Nous avons passé une bonne semaine dans ce gîte typique, une maison de campagne au calme avec un jardin bien aménagé. La piscine n'est pas chauffée mais est cependant bien agréable.

Très bon séjour

Localisation optimale pour des randonnées en vallée d'ossau et d'aspe. Propriétaires très agréables. Le jardin et la piscine est parfaite pour se rafraîchir en fin de journée.

Séjour réussi !

Le cottage est plus spacieux que les photos ne le laissent imaginer mais aussi plus sombre. Il est très bien équipé et confortable. Le jardin est très agréable (sauf pour les moustiques) de même que la piscine. Grand calme et dépaysement garantis. Bob et Lizzie sont très accueillants, disponibles, accommodants et discrets. Les commerces sont facilement accessibles et il y a une grande variété d'activités à faire aux alentours.

Lovely break

We had a great time at this beautiful cottage. Lovely views which were spectacular on the clear days (only a couple of cloudy days) So much to do in the Pyrenees that we will be making a return trip. From the outset, Lizzie & Bob made us feel very welcome with a wealth of knowledge about what we could do on days out. The kids had great fun in the pool, playing table tennis/badminton or just relaxing in the garden. A lovely way for two 14 year olds to breakaway from the internet! Great cottage in a superb location with fantastic neighbours Thank you Bob & Lizzie

A retreat

If you're looking for privacy and silence; a retreat from the hectic everyday life, you've found it. The gite is restored but kept authentique. The interiour is simple but you find that everything works and that you are comfortable in the house. The pool is amazing. Even though the gite is built together with the main house, you have all the privacy you need. Lizzie and Bob are very considerate hosts. Since we arrived late in the evening the small welcome package was a treat the following morning. The setting is rural and you can enjoy the view of the lush and fertile surroundings and the Pyrenees from the lovely garden and the pool area. Despite the rural setting you are close to Oloron Sainte Marie with it's amenities - and a great marked Friday morning. But most of all you are close to the wonders of vallée D'Ossau and the neighbouring valleys.

Beautiful secluded cottage

We had a joyful stay at this special place full of character. The package is complete with the large shaded garden, swimming pool and stunning views on the surrounding area (including wildlife). Unfortunately the indoors fireplace couldn be lit :-( The hosts did a perfect job of receiving us and provide assistance when needed. They obviously fell in love with the place, and we totally understand why! Point of improvement would be to add a few tumbler glasses to the inventory, to enable guests to properly enjoy a good drink on the terrace :-)

Thoroughly enjoyed a truly memorable family holiday. The cottage was exactly as advertised, very comfortable, cosy and clean. A real gem! The weather was perfect and we enjoyed the pool and garden every day. The owners Lizzie and Bob were delightful. The perfect holiday.

charming cottage

Nous avons adoré notre semaine chez Bob et Lizzie qui ont été très gentils et très accueillants. Vacances très agréables après avoir été sur la côte 2 semaines près de Saint Jean de Luz et profité de la mer et de ses plaisirs nautiques au Fort Soccoa. Très joli jardin où il fait vraiment bon passer la journée à se relaxer, très agréable piscine assez grande et cottage charmant et confortable sans vis-à-vis, très calme, au milieu des champs et des bois. Terrasse dans le jardin. Bien situé près de Pau et de son château, possibilités de plusieurs balades dans les Pyrénées, de rafting (sympa) ou d'accrobranche près d'Oloron, ou de visites de grottes ou de gorges. Lourdes, le pic du midi ou Saint Jean de Luz peuvent être faits à partir du cottage sur une grosse journée. Prenez des confitures au stand des myrtilles elles sont excellentes. Nos deux enfants (ados) étaient très contents et auraient bien joué les prolongations. Merci Bob et Lizzie!

Didn't want to leave!

Bob and Lizzie are wonderful hosts. They welcomed us wholeheartedly with wine and food staples and showed us round the property. After our initial welcome they allowed us respectful privacy to enjoy the stunning garden and pool for ourselves although we knew we could call on them if needed. The house is steeped in history cool downstairs and although warmer upstairs fans make sleeping peaceful. The environment around this house is breathtaking and the mountains stunning. We so appreciate the lovely hosts Bob and Lizzie were and feel privalaged to have stayed in a lovely house in an exceptional part of France. We'll be back!
