Isolated location, located on a well maintained gravel road, please do not rent this location with the expectation of being able to get to the city in 13 minutes. Also, the house is located in the mountains, steep driveways come along with living in the mountains.
It still has easy access to Hot Springs (23 mins), Marshall (11 mins) & other surrounding cities. Thirty minutes of an easy scenic drive to North Asheville & 37 minutes from Downtown Asheville. Gorgeous view of the Great Smokey Mountains, including Mt Mitchell. The French Broad river is also in view. The house is fully furnished, with a 65" TV, kitchen with all the modern conveniences & more. High ceilings add to the feeling of the wilderness. Partial wrap around deck, gives great access to enjoying the view, while relaxing & enjoying all the modern accommodations. Great location if you want to see areas around the Smokies & Blue Ridge Mountains, but have isolation with modern conveniences.

This stay was better than we could have expected. We loved being greeted by a group of turkeys in the drive way as we pulled up. The location was incredibly peaceful away from any neighbors or disturbances. The home was clean, came fully equipped, and included a comfortable fire on the deck that kept us warm while we took in the amazing views. Chris was quick to communicate and made sure we were taken care of. We are already looking forward to our next trip.

Absolutely lovely mountain retreat in the Smokies away from the hustle and bustle close to Marshal NC. Warm, welcoming, comfortable and cozy. Superbly equipped kitchen, stunning views from the balcony and great room. Good internet for streaming and large TV. Only downside is it’s so comfy and snug you are content just hanging out and not leaving the house. Great communication with host.

Biltmore girls weekend

We had such a great time this weekend! The house was beautiful and the owner was great! He gave us detailed directions and was available for any questions that we might have. The house had a beautiful view and was very cozy. We were a group of sisters, daughters and nieces and made wonderful memories this property was perfect! We will be booking again in the future!

Slice of Heaven!

This property is much more than a property. It is an exceptional interaction with Mother Nature! The beauty is indescribable. Mountains, valleys, trees and a comfortable home in the midst to enjoy the wonder of this splendor. Of course at this time of year it is the fall colors that are captivating but one can truly envision the other three seasons also in full bloom. The home itself was roomy and well equipped. Everything that might be needed or wanted for living, cooking and loving was available inside and out. The views from the decks were mesmerizing. The inside was warm and welcoming. The property owner was very available and helpful particularly upon arrival. He should be proud and he is greatly appreciated for his welcoming nature. The only disappointment, I think, was we did not see a bear!

Beautiful perch

A lot has been written about the approach. What it provides is a unique, secluded spot with an ever changing visit. Our stay included two couples, it worked perfectly. We will return if circumstances permit.

Ultimate mountain getaway!

This property and its views are spectacular! Privacy, peace and quiet! Chris was a great host and provided easy to follow directions despite the houses remote location. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking in, and beds were comfortable. The only bad part was having to go back home. Bring your family and friends; visit, relax, and take in the stunning views!

Mountain Top Stay

Chris, the owner is very hands on. Always responds quickly. The location is very rural and sits alone on a 2,000 ft hill with an amazing view of NC mountains. The ride back in is slow and on very tiny windy roads, however after a couple times coming in and out it doesn’t bother you. It is very quite and peaceful and secluded. The house is very homey and very well furnished. The kitchen is the best part, professional quality and all with that view right in front of you through floor to ceiling windows. Get all your groceries from Ingles Supermarket in Marshall before you head up to the property because your not going to want to drive off the mountain to go back into town and back up again . The Ingles is very nice has everything you’ll need, Overall this is a very special and unique piece of property. It’s just the opposite of the other cabin rentals where you can always see another cabin right next to you. All your going to see is mountains and beautiful NC forest.

A view you have to work for!

We wanted a mountain view above all else, and boy did this house deliver! We spent most mornings out on the deck and were endlessly fascinated by the changing cloud patterns across the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. We knew going in that the road to the house was going to be challenging, but we were willing to take that on to get the spectacular view. The road was indeed challenging (especially after it rained), but with our Jeep and Chris' very good directions, the 40 minute drive from Asheville was doable. We made use of the well appointed kitchen and laundry facilities, and the beds were very comfortable. We had everything we needed for a glorious stay, and we would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting an adventure to a hidden gem on a mountain.

Beautiful house, just be extra careful on the driveway.

This place was absolutely beautiful. The only thing that I would change if it was possible would be the driveway up to the house. Other than that Chris’ place is right out of a movie on a beautiful mountain top. Furthermore, I had absolutely no trouble contacting Chris with any questions we had. He made us feel like we were part of his family. I really appreciated that.

Beautiful getaway

This home is the perfect place for a getaway. It is completely private and has everything needed to stay home and visit with friends or family. We were so excited to see a flock or turkeys right in the driveway this morning. No bears. Maybe next time!!!

The Perfect Cabin

I would stay here again no question! It’s charming, spacious, great views, and has everything you need and more! The beds were SO comfy and the amenities very useful. Chris couldn’t have been more of a pleasure to communicate with. He clearly cares about his guests. The reviews about the driveway are very true. My biggest advice is get there when it’s still daylight and don’t use a sedan if you can help it. I drive an outback and was fine. 10/10

Wow! Just amazing!

This place was absolutely awesome. The owner was the best in terms of communication and the house was even better than the listing described. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the essentials and there is tons of space to spread out and enjoy the beautiful views. Very secluded spot. A little challenging to find but Chris did a good job with directions. The no trespassing signs threw us off when we got deep into the woods but we were on the right track and all of a sudden the house appeared! Absolutely loved this place and recommend for anyone. The house was super cool and the master bedroom was hidden by a bookshelf door.

Gorgeous views and impeccable quiet.

Just perfect. I wanted a beautiful and quiet place to chill. It was all this and more. The kitchen was amazing. Every utensil and machine one could want. Bathrooms were spotless. And a jetted tub Several fireplaces although this trip I used the ac instead Very comfortable beds I spent most of my time on the porch enjoying the breeze watching the mountains

Gorgeous views

Our family of 4 spend 4 nights at this beautiful location and it did not disappoint! Chris was very helpful and accessible in his communication. He checked in with us a few times, and responded immediately when we had questions. This place can be a little tricky to find, though Chris sent extremely detailed directions ahead of time and responded instantly when we were still were a little confused. I think had we gotten there before dark, we would have found it o.k., but it was a little challenging the first time in the dark! His place has amazing views and is very well stocked. It is spacious and has plenty of seating to appreciate the views both inside and outside. We loved the firepit and it has a grill if you'd like that. It was a very relaxing location and only took about 10-15 minutes to get down to Marshall. It is a pretty remote location though and we were very glad we had 4WD heading up to his place as there are some fairly steep climbs on gravel. We would definitely come back again and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to relax with great views! Chris is a great host.

FANTASTIC!!

Chris's Property is Clean, Modern, and Comfortable! The View is EXTRAORDINARY and the location is the perfect escape from the City but still close enough to go to Asheville easily during the day! Plenty of Amenities! Fire Pit with cooking grate is solid addition for sure! -Whitt Parnell

Amazing mountainside home away from home

Everything about our visit was perfect from starting to finish. The house has many amenities and really made it feel like a home away from home. The owner was also very communicative and helpful throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend this place and we look forward to returning in the future!

Mountain escape

Second time at this lovely home atop a mountain in Marshall NC. Beautiful views of the Blue Ridge in the distance. Home is well kept and had everything we needed for a getaway from routines. Kitchen is very well stocked, beds are comfy, can’t ask for more. Gracious host is always available to answer questions. Perfect Mountain Getaway!

We had about 8 people in our party and we just absolutely loved our stay! Christopher was amazing from the beginning with communicating details about the property & connecting us with local activities! The house was perfect, we literally could not get over the spectacular view from the deck, we spent so much time out there! My only wish is that we had more time there, it was the perfect getaway weekend! Thank you so much, Christopher!
