Blackwattle Bay Apartment

Blackwattle Bay Apartment is located in Cook Street, Glebe - just a short walk from Glebe Point Road. It has wifi and is air conditioned. The apartment is located in a security building with panoramic water and city views. The sunny and spacious living-dining room has a balcony overlooking Blackwattle Bay, a 42 inch flatscreen TV with Foxtel, Netflix and Stan, as well as DVD and CD players. The apartment has timber floors and a modern kitchen with stainless steel electric stove, microwave oven, dish drawer and refrigerator. There are two bedrooms (both with queen beds) and a refurbished bathroom with bath. There is a second TV in the main bedroom. The laundry is equipped with a washing machine, drier, iron and ironing board. There is also a lock-up garage.

The apartment is a few minutes' walk to Glebe Point Road restaurants, shops and bus to the city. The recently converted old Harold Park Tramsheds is about a 7 minute walk with a range of good food destinations. The apartment is conveniently located near the Sydney Fish Markets and the Broadway Shopping Centre with supermarkets, movie theatres and video store. The Light Rail to the Casino, Darling Harbour and Sydney Terminal railway station is five minutes walk. The apartment is also only a few minutes' walk to the new Blackwattle Bay waterfront park.

The apartment is a non-smoking establishment. The minimum rental period is 5 nights.

The estimated cost is based on 2 adults sharing a bedroom. Additional charges may apply in other circumstances. Check in time is normally 2pm, with departure by 10am. These times may be varied by prior arrangement with the owners.

In addition to this apartment, the owners also have houses near Jervis Bay on the NSW South Coast. Jervis Bay is renowned for dolphin and whale watching, and white sand beaches. These properties can be viewed on the Stayz site under Georges on the Basin, The Waterfront House, and Writers Retreat.

Great location in quiet suberb of sydney. Great travel links by either bus or tram(light railway)Two bedrooms , bed was comfy. Well equipped kitchen which perfect as we eat in a lot. Big front room with lovely views and with air con. Added bonus of full laundry room. Nice small balcony as well. Host was brilliant with communication and helped us with our check in. Lots of little extras left to help out as well

Beautiful views of the bay and city, excellent peaceful location, great selection nearby for dining, near to public transport. The apartment is a good base and has everything you need. The beds are super comfortable. Warren was great with getting checking in info to me in advance and it was very straightforward. We really enjoyed our first trip to Australia! We were even visited by some kookaburras on the balcony!

Best location!!

I can’t say enough good things about the location! The view is phenomenal, there are grocers, bakers, coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, and multiple parks all within walking distance. There are bus lines and a ferry super close by. There were a couple of problems we discovered upon arriving but the host responded to our email in a timely manner with solutions. We found just about everything we needed in the unit. (I did have to buy note paper and Kleenex, which would have been nice to have in the apartment.) My only suggestions would be to have a designated location for the extra set of keys (took a day or two to find them), the Opal/transit card (we couldn’t find one) and for the instruction welcome manual to be updated. (The info was a mess and outdated, and had conflicting information about preferred way to leave the apartment upon check-out.)

Location, location, location: Extraordinary view and wonderful neighborhood

The apartment was as described except for the view--no words could adequately convey how beautiful it is! The balcony overlooks the Blackwattle Harbor and, in the distance, is downtown Sydney. At night, the lights of the city lit up the eastern sky. We also saw a magnificent fireworks display.The birds in this area are, at least to an American, exotic. A number of lorikeets were in a tree two blocks from the apartment.The neighborhood was also wonderful. Two blocks away is Glebe St there are fresh produce markets, bakeries, small grocery stores, an array of restaurants, and a number of other kinds of shops. For this American who is used to the "WalMarts" and "Targets," it was such a treat to stroll down the street and pick up freshly baked bread and fresh fruit for breakfast. And the people were friendly and welcoming.The apartment is close enough to city center to easily go there to see the local sights or meet tour groups, but far enough to not feel touristy. We loved walking down the street and catching the ferry into the city. The ride takes about 15 minutes.The apartment was clean and spacious. There was plenty of dishware and even a sharp knife (we've stayed at many VRBOs and a sharp knife is often not available). The apartment has a dishwasher, washer, and dryer---lovely!We had very few questions since everything was spelled out so well ahead of time, but we had quick responses from the owner when we did.We would most definitely stay here again!

Great Location, Spectacular View, hidden gem.

Fantastic apartment in a great location, close to public transport, shops and amenities.The apartment was very clean and had everything you could possibly need.The view was spectacular, especially the city night lights.Warren was an excellent host and nothing was too much trouble. He certainly went the extra mile.I felt very safe and secure and will definitely be back.Thanks again Warren, a magic spot and hidden gem.

Handy location for transport either by bus, rail or ferry to the city centre. Quiet and peaceful location and terrific view of the city skyline by night! Warren, the host, very hospitable and obliging with requests.

The location on Cook St close to the variety of cafes and restaurants on Glebe Point Road and the short walk down to the Blackwattle Bay ferry wharf made the location ideal plus the added charm of the stunning view from the balcony.

Glorious Blackwattle Bay

Beautiful bay view from kitchen and lounge; lots of greenery and lovely birdsong; user-friendly kitchen with dishwasher, laundry; comfortable bedding; cosy lounge area; spacious bathroom/toilet. Easy bus ride or light rail access to Sydney spots. Near to the renowned Glebe Markets. Many eateries, shops, green grocers. The apartment is a fantastic retreat after the busyness and heat of a Sydney summer. At night, we did reluctantly used the lounge air conditioner to cool the bedrooms, as the summer heat made the rooms unbearably warm. Otherwise, when in the lounge or balcony, the breeze was great. Overall, we highly recommend the apartment. It felt like an oasis.

Laid-back Glebe

Warren is an extremely helpful host and his flat is ideally situated for public transport and shops in lovely Glebe. The bonus is the fabulous view across Blackwattle Bay to Pyrmont and the city. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Brilliant location

We loved our time in blackwattle bay. The location was fabulous, easy transport links, parks, the bay, shops and cafes. The view was wonderful and handed the added bonus of free fireworks most nights ( spectacular thunderstorms too) quite steep hill up from the bay and is on 4th floor, so you need to be happy to walk up those ( we were) would definitely use this as a base again.

We stayed in this apartment from the 1st to 4th of October 2023, we had rented for 14 nights but had to vacate after 3 nights when we got a more suitable accommodation, This property does not resemble the pictures posted on the Stayz platform, furniture is old and a musty smell in the apartment, the Table is old and stained, the windows rattle and bang at night with the wind, this it is an extremely old and dated apartment, it’s on the top floor 40 steps with no lift, I had to bleach 3 of the cups before we could use. They were brown and stained, the Bathroom window screwed open so it can't be closed. Owner/ Manager was not very helpful when contacted regarding issues. Pictures of all concerns were forwarded to him. But he was not interested in our concerns. We contacted Stayz and they said they only advertised the apartment on their platform and were not responsible for the condition of the rental. In our honest opinion it is not fit to be listed on Stayz/Vbro platform.
