University Pub Craftsman

This 1920`s bungalow is your home away from home. Enjoy the charm of the original 1920 craftsman style; 1,400 square feet of space, featuring a nice front sitting porch, lots of light, original hardwood floors, craftsman molding, large fireplace mantle and built-in cabinetry.

University Pub Craftsman has a fully-fenced yard so bring your dogs (2 dogs max). Relax, sip wine at the outdoor patio table while BBQing or warm up in the chairs around the fire pit.

Gather in the game room downstairs. Test your skills at darts shuffleboard!

Fall asleep at night in one of the two comfy bedrooms (one king and one queen). Both bedrooms are located on the main floor.

There are two full bathrooms which are equipped with walk-in showers.


PET FEE: $100. Two dog maximum.

Cancellations: A 4% merchant service processing fee will be applied to all cancellations. This includes pets too.

Cute house in a great location. The house seemed fully stocked, though we went out for our meals and drinks. The game room is lots of fun. We were able to walk to the downtown area in 30 min and ride our bikes in 10 min (almost flat and on side roads). There is a fenced yard where you can keep the bikes. There is space for one car in the drive. There are lots of good places to eat and some cute boutiques DT. The Walla Walla area had so many wine tasting rooms to try with all kinds of settings. The house is very comfortable for 2 couples. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book again.

Nicely appointed craftsman house. Those older homes are so well built. Everything was clean and tidy. We stayed for 11 days and used the well equipped kitchen everyday. The beds were comfy. There were plenty of towels too.It was lovely to sit in the backyard with our dogs. Great management. Thank you!

Everything was as advertised. It was a very pleasant stay. Short distance from downtown in a nice neighborhood. We particularly enjoyed the front porch. The only thing is there needs to be "man" size bathrobes in the bedrooms. I am an average size man and the robe did not fit. Other than that, everything was great.

Excellent property!!!

We had a wonderful stay in Walla Walla! The game room was a ton of fun, shuffleboard and darts. The neighborhood was quiet. We loved the extra touches, such as robes and slippers. I would definitely stay at this beautiful home again.

The house is very comfortable and very welcoming. It’s within a mile of downtown very convenient in a very quiet neighborhood location. Definitely recommend the house for a small group of 2 to 4 people staying. The house has many things that we didn’t utilize, but would’ve been fun if we had a longer stay the fire pit outside andin the basement is set up like a game room perfect for a rainy day.

Perfect for our needs. It was close to downtown. We enjoyed the shuffle board table downstairs. The neighborhood was wonderful. Nearby is the Green Lantern tavern which makes great affordable pizzas to pair with the wines you purchase. It was the perfect stay for our needs. Terri communicated well with us during the days leading up to our trip.

Wine Country Weekend

The location and home were perfect for two couples and one dog. Enough space for us to spend time comfortably at home, with great outdoor space for nice weather days. The game room in the basement was also a great place to spend time after days out in the vineyards.

Sadly, Disappointing

I have stayed at another property managed by this group and it was awesome. However, this experience was far different. Originally I booked this place because I planned on bringing my dog. Sadly, she died before the trip. First, I will start and end this commentary by saying that the management group was 100% responsive to all of my contacts. The , downside, none of this should have happened and I should not have had to reach out, three times, due to issues/problems. The beds (both) were uncomfortable, the frame broken on one of them. The HVAC control was resetting itself, such that the temperature increased during the night. The management group was responsive and came to the property twice to reset the thermostat. This should not have happened and the full instructions on resetting the HVAC should be in the house binder. They were not. On Saturday morning of my stay, the Smoke/CO2 alarm in the basement went off, with an oral message to vacate the building. Less than a halfhour later, another alarm in the bedroom was going off. Upon contacting management, they sent their maintenance man who replaced all the batteries in all of the smoke/CO2 detectors. Beyond these maintenance snags, I felt uncomfortable in this home.There were other issues with outside lighting, etc., that were not, in my opinion, as they should be, for a five star VRBO. I paid a handsome sum of money for this and it was not a good experience.

Easter weekend in Walla Walla

We enjoyed staying at University Pub Craftsman. Great neighborhood and comfortable accommodations. Just a couple of suggestions in the spirit of continuous improvement: 1) A hook within an arm's length reach of the shower in the downstairs bathroom to hang the bath towel for easy access post-shower. 2) Update the instructions for the Wi-Fi to reflect the router that is currently in the living room.

Parents Weekend at Whitman

This was our second stay at the "University Pub Craftsman". It is a cozy, clean, well decorated place that is pet friendly! It is within walking distance of Whitman Campus, Pioneer Park and the downtown area and is in a nice neighborhood. We would definitely stay again!

Great Getaway

We enjoyed the house. Plenty of room for the four of us. Close to downtown and nice neighborhood. The only issue was the setting area in the living area while watching TV was not that comfortable.

Fantastic home base in Walla Walla

Great place and great neighborhood. Fenced back yard was perfect with the dogs and the bonus room (shuffleboard particularly) was a hit. Very comfortable and Terri was highly responsive. Highly recommend.

Will come back. Kitchen smoke detector is very sensitive- no well done toast. Upper part of stairs going to lower floor needs some type of handgrip or rail for older folks. Great neighborhood and well equipped kitchen.

This 1920 Craftsman home has been in the Dashiell family since 1979. It has always been a warm happy cozy oasis. Dennis and Jeannette Dashiell took over the home from Dennis’ mom Sharon, who lived there through her career as a beloved local grade school teacher and later in her retirement. The Dashiell family lives in Bellingham WA now but family, friends, beautiful vistas, sun, great wine and an exceptional Walla Walla food scene has kept them coming back every chance they get. Dennis and Jeannette did most of the remodel work themselves with great attention to detail and are very proud of the house as it stands today.

Your vacation dollars support a noble cause: In January of 2014 the Dashiells lost their college-bound daughter Hannah to a car accident. Hannah was pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor. A scholarship fund has been set up in honor of Hannah’s legacy of generosity and caring.
