I should have done more research before booking, as this property simply wasn’t a good fit for us.Leah was pleasant, but we found the accommodations lacked privacy. Her office is only a few feet from the guest room and overlooks the patio, and guests must walk through the main living and dining areas to reach the room. A separate entrance would have made a big difference. There were also more house rules than we expected, including being in by 11 PM and not leaving before 6 AM because of the alarm system, no alcohol, and no shoes indoors. I wear orthotics, so going barefoot is painful. A lengthy note on the toilet seat about bacteria also felt excessive. The room was very small, the bed was so soft that both of us woke with sore backs, and nine wind chimes outside rang throughout the night. We also had to pick up several old piles of dog waste so our dogs wouldn’t step in them.Privacy was another concern. Twice in the evening, a man used the sliding door next to ours, turning on the patio light which illuminated our room, to go out and have a smoke (another rule was no smoking yet there was a full ashtray on the patio). Both times he glanced into our room. We were uncomfortable enough that we skipped breakfast and left at 6 AM.Leah was kind, but the lack of privacy, restrictive rules, and comfort issues made this a terrible experience for us. Other travelers may be perfectly comfortable with a more involved B&B experience, but we prefer considerably more privacy.
