Best of Oaxaca offers 2 turn-key furnished apartments for rent that are attractively appointed and include a wide range of conveniences designed to meet the needs of vacationers to Oaxaca. The 2 apartments are next to each other and are a mirror image of each other. This listing and calendar is for Apartment #2.

This apartment has air conditioning in the bedroom and bathroom only for a comfortable nights rest.

Our apartments are centrally located in the heart of Oaxaca and just a 15 minute walk to the Zocolo. The Mercado de Merced with wonderful fruit, vegetables, and arm loads of fresh flowers, is just a short walk away! Our location provides convenient access to many Spanish language schools.

The property contains both apartments, our private home in the rear as well as Alma de Mi Tierra Cooking School.

Everyone shares the same access to the main street but each apartment has their own key to the main door as well as to the apartment. Our location also has a private rooftop terrace, beautiful plantings, and ample seating to enjoy the beautiful Oaxacan sunsets. Our setting ensures a safe and comfortable experience. When staying with us there are not calls, messages, long wait times to have a problem addressed for we reside onsite able to remedy all maintenance, health as well as whatever issue should arise.

Our housekeeper is on property daily and comes to clean and change your linens once a week. Both innkeepers as well as our housekeeper, speak fluent English as well as Spanish and are always available in case you have any questions or problems, yet we will always respect your privacy.

Oaxaca offers an extraordinary array of concerts, live theater, lectures and famous art institutes. Classes are offered in painting, sculpture, weaving, dance, photography, and ceramics to name a few. There is a wonderful English language library nearby with a very large collection of books in English.

Rent with confidence knowing that you are located in a secure setting with the owners residing on the same property. With both of our furnished apartments we handle the details, including utilities, furniture, kitchen supplies and more -- so you can keep on track and focus on your priorities.

We spent two weeks in one of the two apartments William and Nora have adjacent to their home in the beautiful Jalatlaco barrio. The location is wonderful -- Jalatlaco is beautiful and not yet overrun by tourists, and there are a variety of restaurants and shops nearby for anything you might need, while the well-known signts in the Centro are an easy 10 minute walk away.William and Nora are very knowledeable about the area, and Nora is a licensed guide, so if you'd like information about restaurants, shops, and services in the neighborhood, interesting things to see, or someone to accompany you to Monte Alban or the other sites near Oaxaca, that's easily available.We especially enjoyed the rooftop terrace, which is shared between the two apartments; it's a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the views of the city and the mountains surrounding it.We'd strongly recommend these apartments for anyone who is looking for a closer encounter with Oaxaca than you would get in a hotel, especially for longer stays.

Great apartment in wonderful Jalatlaco neighborhood with attentive hosts William and Nora. Besides the comfortable accommodations we also had access to a beautiful garden terrace. The apartment is conveniently located closely to plenty of shops and restaurants.

Loved our stay! William and Nora were very helpful in terms of local knowledge and suggestions. I appreciated that the apartments are in Jalatlaco, a neighborhood close but not in the center. Lots of restaurants and shops right around, and an easy 15 minute walk to the historic center with all of the sites you want to see. We'll definitely stay here when we return.

Freaking amazing! So bummed we never met Nora, but William was awesome to work with! The apartment was a perfect size and we'll appointed. The roof garden sealed the deal! Great location and easy to get to things (providing you are not *TRYING* to get out of town and didn't check for protests). This is a "will come back to" spot!

Colorful and Comfortable

I was so happy with my stay. The location was great, the space is beautiful-just like the photos which isn't always the case. William was helpful when we had questions and the apartment was clean and beautifully decorated. I loved my mornings with coffee on the terrace.

My adventure in Oaxaca

I am a landscape designer so I felt at home there. William and Nora are lovely people. I got to talk plants with William and Nora did a cooking class that was just amazing.

Peaceful, supportive stay

The on-site property manager was very helpful and suggesting restaurants and events. The roof terrace was our favorite spot in Oaxaca. Accommodations, including water and shower facilities were top-notch.

Wonderful in all respects

If you are looking for a delightful place to stay in Oaxaca, this is it. The apartment is a true one-bedroom with locally-sourced furniture and decor. There is AC in the bedroom, good wifi throughout, an ample supply of fresh drinking water, and gracious hosts. Just far enough from central Oaxaca to be quiet but close enough to walk everywhere in town, this is really an ideal rental. Highly recommended!

Lovely Accommodation

Good location, and the kitchen was equipped well. We were able to enjoy going to the wonderful nearby Mercado Merced to buy beautiful produce and proteins and prepare meals our 24 day stay.

Quiet, Comfortable, and Friendly

William’s apartment is a perfect location in Jalatlaco. It’ s on a quiet street with cafes on every corner. The apartment is cozy and had everything we needed; especially loved the king-sized bed. The owners live on the property and are there to help and offer suggestions - as well as just chat with us daily on the beautiful rooftop patio. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already made plans to return to this apartment next year.

Beautiful place to spend Dia de Muertos

We loved staying in Jalatlaco over the week of Dia de Muertos— such a special neighborhood. This apartment was extremely tranquil with many beautiful plants. My favorite was the peaceful rooftop terrace.

Our Home Away from Home

We spent 5 wonderful weeks at William and Nora's apartment and it came to feel like home, or even better because there were no worries or little matters to take care of. It was our second long-term stay there and this helped us truly settle in. The apartments (there are two) are beautifully, artistically decorated, well supplied with all the necessities, and everything functions perfectly. Watched over by their loveable bulldog, Bella. William and Nora live in the large house and are readily available if questions come up, but are not intrusive. The location is perfect, on the main street of the barrio of Jalatlaco, the charming and lively quarter just outside the center of Oaxaca. It's quiet, convenient, friendly, we will always stay there and will always return to Oaxaca. Thank you, William and Nora for the unforgettable stay! Hasta luego! We miss our home away from home.

Oaxaca vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely property! The apartment was perfect for us, and we especially enjoyed the roof top terrace. We often ended the day up there enjoying the breeze, the beautiful flowers and the mountains in the distance. William was a wonderful host, always ready to visit and take care of any issue that arose. We also took advantage of his wife's cooking school and had a great time cooking in her beautiful kitchen and then enjoying the delicious meal. The neighborhood is perfectly situated for ease to Centro. No place seemed too far to walk to and we loved the murals that we saw on the way. We highly recommend this property.

Awesome property and location

After searching numerous places to stay in Oaxaca we found this awesome jem. The location was perfect, very quiet and close to a variety of restaurants and parks. The host was most helpful checking in on us daily. He gave us a map and reviewed various points of interest, restaurants, parks and market locations.

Perfect accommodation and location

The apartment was perfect for my wife and I. The rooms were clean, cute and comfortable. From bottled water to blender and French Press, the kitchen had all we needed to make breakfast, drinks and snacks. We really took advantage of the upstairs porch. It has comfy seating and great views of the mountains to the north. The neighborhood couldn't have been better. A quiet street in easy walking to great coffee and pastries, La Merced local market, Plaza St. Domingo and the Zocalo. William and Nora were solid hosts, but Bella, their dog was the true star!

Charming, comforable and convenient

We loved our stay at Alma de Mi Tierra B&B! Beautiful location in a stellar neighborhood--Jalatlaca--just a few blocks from Centro and full of stunning murals and places to eat just north of the house. William and Nora, our hosts, were very present and helpful whenever needed. We hired Nora to be our guide 3 times and she is remarkable and so knowledgeable. Our city/centro history tour was a great start to our stay. And our trip to Tlacolula's Sunday Market Day was lots of fun too. Don't miss one of her cooking classes. She is experienced and the meal will be wonderful. We want to come back again and again and we feel so blessed that we chose this place to stay. I can't imagine a better experience.

My wife Nora was born and raised in Oaxaca city, and I am originally from NYC with roots on my fathers side from the Oaxaca valley. Nora was raised with guest in her home where her parents hosted students form distant villages throughout the year. In 1994 my wife and I tuned her parents 10 bedroom room into one of the family's 2 B&B's while at the same time began renting out our two apartments located on our property just a few blocks away. We saw a need of many of the B&B guest wanting to have extended stays yet also wanted a place to prepare their own meals as an option.
