Mariposa Ridge Retreat close to town amenities and Yosemite Park. Deck hot tub.

Mariposa Ridge Retreat is a ten-acre hilltop home with panoramic views of the seasonal snow capped peaks in Yosemite and the quaint village below. Located just 1.5 miles outside of the historic Gold mining County seat of Mariposa, the 'Mother of California's Counties.' We are 38 miles from Yosemite National Park, and just ten minutes from the Merced River which winds along Highway 140 for 23 miles into the Park. One of the most scenic drives on the planet. Don't miss the river drive into YOSEMITE!
The home was built in 2005 and features a King Suite, a Queen bedroom and two full-size double beds in the third bedroom. There are extra twin futons & bedding for a small upcharge. There are two full baths. The master has a larger soaking tub. There is a 500 square foot deck with six foot circular HOT SPRINGS Spa overlooking the Mariposa Valley along with picnic table, umbrella and a charcoal barbecue. The water comes from a deep mountain well fed by year-round Sierra snowpack. Roam the ten hilltop acres along with deer and wild Sierra birds.
Bring your clothes and food (linens and towels are provided) and come home to peaceful mountain air and escape the rat race below. (Mariposa is the ONLY California County without a single Traffic Light!). PLEASE NOTE: Check-in at 3pm day of arrival and Check-out at 11 am. Be sure to visit our website for complete info.

Big holidays are 3 night minimums to accommodate our cleaning service.

Beautiful view from the large deck on the back of the house. The hot tub was very nice. A clean, comfortable home close to Yosemite. Mariposa was a cute town and close to the house. Very quiet peaceful area. I would stay here again.

Mariposa Ridge retreat is conveniently located to Yosemite National Park. The view off the deck for sunrise and sunset is beautiful. We enjoyed the hot tub every night. Everything for our vacation was conveniently located.

Home is easy short drive out of Mariposa which has excellent restaurants (1850, Castillo and Happy Burger). Older property but nicely appointed. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking in. DW and W/D were nice to have for long stay. Hot tub is great for 2 people - way too small for 4. Great view and very private. There are beds for 6 however the LR is small and there is seating comfortable for just 3 people. Hosts are responsive.

We hope you two enjoyed your stay at our property. We have different areas for kids and adults to spread out with deck, hot tub, acreage for walks and a big park to visit. There is decent seating to eat. It is more romantic with two in hot tub. Savourys has decent food too. Thanks for coming.

Great Place!

This was the perfect place to stay for our family vacation in Yosemite. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the hot tub was so nice to get into at the end of those days with long hikes. From the house to Yosemite was less than an hour and it was a pretty drive. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to be back one day!

Home base for hiking

Nice property with great views. The hosts were easy to communicate with and we really enjoyed our stay! Mariposa is very close by and a great little town. This property was a great location for our hiking trip.

Spacious house, nice views

Spent a week there while visiting Yosemite NP. The house was a good size for our group of 4 adults. Kitchen has lots of storage and countertop space for preparing meals. We enjoyed the views from the large deck. The covered parking space was good to keep our car cool on the hot days.

Yosemite hikers

The house was just right for our large family. Mariposa is close by for essentials, some cute shops and good restaurants. The drive to Yosemite is beautiful! Host was great with communication and information about the area.

front step needs fixing.. I tripped off itinterior a bit outdated as well as kitchen suppliesshould not have had to ask for kitchen towels or iron.other than that, stay was ok

The guests were going to a wedding. I gave them access to a locked maid supply closet which is seldom. We do have dish towels. We do have an ironing board and iron in pantry. We will have to do an inventory as we are just getting this news update. They did inquire and got a good rate for their group and we hope they had a nice visit to the area and their family.

A great place to stay with plenty of room, convenient location and awesome view!

My wife and I took our family of four boys and a girlfriend to stay for two nights so we could be close to Yosemite. We found the home warm and inviting, with plenty of room, a well stocked kitchen with all the right utensils and cookware. It was very clean and had plenty of pillows and blankets for everyone. The hot tub was amazing, and the view from the deck at night under the stars was breathtaking. Mariposa is just a short drive away with great restaurants and a grocery store to meet our needs. Thank you!

Great location. However difficulties with entry door was a real problem for us. It really never got easy to open the lock.Other challenges included regulating shower water temperatures and managing tv. AAppreciated owner's response to problems.

Someone forced the door previous on their visit so we are changing up one door to key style for back-up. I do not understand how both doors can be deadbolted from inside at same time...very strange. The fairly new expensive hot water tank is being drained by our plumber as he says it is typical to have some sediment build up and have an affect such as this- run hotter until flushed. The tv controller was found at unit.

We had a very good stay in Mariposa and everything was as advertised. The property has a great view and we loved our time in Yosemite. We enjoyed having our breakfasts and dinners in the house before and after a fun day in the park.

There's some things I would think a home would have for their guest. Like extra trash bags, salt, enough toilet paper, and decent pans to cook in. I would be careful how to turn the water on. It can get very hot and burn you like it did my 15 year old son. It was a bit tricky even for us adults. To be honest it was ok but I would rather stay somewhere else next time we come around Mariposa.

Great place. A little hard to find the first time and about 1 hour 20 min from Yosemite. Had lots of room and everything needed to prepare meals. Grocery store was a little far away but overall was perfect

Perfect for our 3 generation family time at Yosemite

Mariposa Ridge Retreat was the perfect setting for our family. Very convenient to glorious Yosemite and wonderful to come back to at the end of the day. We loved the view, the deck and the hot tub. We grilled out and ate breakfast in and the kitchen met all our needs. The 13 and 9 yr. old explored the property and looked for wild animals. One family member did see a fox early one morning. House was very clean and master bath is amazing. We highly recommend this property. I should also mention it was very quiet. No trucks were heard!

Heavenly, for sure!

Mariposa Ridge Retreat was wonderful. Quiet, clean, very nicely set up and the hot tub was my husband's favorite part! He was in it 3 times a day at least. We made day trips into Yosemite National Park everyday, so the location was perfect. An excellent retreat for sure. James & Rachel McComiskey

Beautiful views, homey property

While the property is out in the country, it was easy to find and a close drive to Mariposa. We were impressed with the tourist information center and the staff's knowledge of Yosemite Park. The town of Mariposa is charming with a great grocery store with good steaks and seafood in the butcher shop. The house was comfortable and spacious. While it was only my husband and me this time, there were two additional bedrooms with 3 queen beds. 8 people would be very comfortable. We enjoyed cooking out on the deck. It was too cold to use the hot tub, but it was certainly inviting. Glad there was a big soaker tub in the master bath! A large picture window in the living room looked over the valley and up the snow capped mountains in the distance. Red tail hawks sailed the updrafts and a chipmunk played on the deck. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area.

Winter Retreat

My husband and I had a great time at Mariposa Ridge Retreat. The house was clean and spacious. The hot tub was great and got very hot! If you are looking for a nice, quiet getaway, this could be your place. The owners were very quick to respond if you had a question. However, my one complaint is that I emailed about 2 weeks after our visit to inquire about how we were to get our $100 refundable deposit, and I was told to keep an eye out in the mail as they send a check. It is not one month after our stay, and I have not received the refund. I emailed one more time to ask if it had been mailed or when to expect it to be mailed, and the only response I got was the same as before "keep an eye out for a check in the mail". They did not answer my question on WHEN it was/will be sent. I would have thought that a refundable deposit would have been returned well before an entire month of your visit. So, we're still "keeping our eye out" and hope it comes soon!
