Local Highlights: Emu Bay is known for its resident koalas, dolphins, fairy penguins, pelicans, and wide sandy beach – one of the few on Kangaroo Island accessible by car. It’s popular for swimming, water sports, and beach walks, and a fantastic base for exploring attractions like Seal Bay, Flinders Chase National Park, Stokes Bay, American River, and Penneshaw.

Just 15 minutes from Kingscote, the island’s main town, you’ll have easy access to shops, supermarkets, dining, ATM, post office, fuel, hospital, laundromat, and more. A public playground and phone are just 200m away.

Getting Here:
Kangaroo Island can be reached by a 30-minute flight from Adelaide or a 45-minute Sealink ferry from Cape Jervis, approximately a 2-hour drive south of Adelaide. Bring your own car or hire one from Kingscote, Penneshaw, or the airport.
