Romantic summer retreat, my gorgeous farmhouse is situated on a hill top only a 15 minute drive from Sotogrande and the beach. It has stunning unspoilt views across orange groves to the Sierra Bermeja and the Sierra de Ronda, the view also includes a triangle of Mediterranean and we overlook our neighbours private polo ground. Sit on the terrace, sip your chilled drink and watch the polo!
The house is surrounded by lawns and mature cork wood trees and there is an outdoor pool of 10m x 4m. Sit on the terrace and enjoy your meals and barbecues ' al fresco' . The house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, lovely lounge with large flat screen TV and free to air sky system and a large dining room with small but well equipped kitchen. The house has air conditioning or ceiling Fans throughout. This is the perfect retreat for anyone wanting peace, quiet and tranquillity and yet within minutes you can be enjoying all the facilities of Sotogrande. Great beaches, fine restaurants, amazing golf, fab sailing
PLEASE NOTE , ELECTRICITY IS CHARGED SEPARATELY.
THE POOL IS ONLY IN USE FROM MID JUNE TILL MID OCT .

Fantastic Break

We have just come back from a lovely break at this farmhouse. The location is ideal - not being too far from local amenities, whilst itself being peaceful and quiet. The children loved the pool and large garden (as well as the piano!). The farmhouse has a lovely personal feel about it and is very welcoming. It was very clean and well presented. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and near by if needed. We would certainly stay at this farmhouse again in future, and highly recommend it.

Splendid solitary country house

We, a family of four, stayed in this outstanding country house for ten days and enjoyed it very much. The house itself is really spacious, nicely furnished (piano!) and has a fully equipped kitchen. We loved having breakfast as well as dinner and barbecue on the large, shaded porch overlooking the beautiful garden and the nearby area. Our kids (11 & 13) enjoyed the large swimming pool and the pool table most. John, the landlord, was always very polite, helpful and straigthforward. We definitely recommend this house for anybody who likes to have a temporary, pretty luxurious home in a rural area yet still close to the beaches of the Mediterranean (10 to 15 minutes drive) and many South Andalusian places worth visiting (such as Tarifa (whale watching), Gibraltar, Jimena). Having a car is certainly recommended. Thank you very much, John.

We loved this gorgeous Andalucian farmhouse

We have just returned from 11 days in this gorgeous farmhouse and couldn't recommend it highly enough. This is probably the 7th or 8th Andalucian country villa we have stayed in over the last ten years (love this part of the world!) but definitely our favourite so far. The farmhouse is even more lovely than it looks - loads of space and comfort, very clean and in an amazing location. Highlights for us (a family of five with children aged 12, 17 and 18) included the beautiful terrace with stunning views - a great place for meals and drinks -the pool and (for the teenagers) the pool table and comfy sofa! . I also loved watching the polo in the neighbouring fields - loved the sound of the horses running around and the clunk of the polo ball. The local village is fab - a great place to sit and eat tapas and watch the world go by - and its also only a few minutes to the beach. John was a great host and we honestly couldn't have asked for more. Hopefully we will be back - missing it already!

The best villa in Spain!

We spent the best two weeks of the whole year in this villa! We are a family of 5. Our three boys age 7,9, and 12 had a wonderful time swimming, exploring the endless grounds and watching/feeding the animals (horses, dogs and pigs). We enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the villa and pool while being near to the beach when we felt like venturing out. We had two fabulous days out at a local water park and at Gibraltar. In Gibraltar we took the official tour which was fascinating. We thoroughly enjoyed evening BBQ's, watching the polo horses with a glass of wine, playing cards and family quizzes. The views are really second to none! The TV was available for quiet times for the boys as were puzzles, books and games. Home from home. Generous and well equipped in every way. It was great to have John the owner onsite. We felt safe and well informed about the area. He struck the perfect balance between being there to make sure all was well while also giving us privacy to enjoy family time. We would certainly recommend this villa. It is a truly wonderful place. Thank you to John for making us so welcome.

Wunderschöne rustikale Unterkunft zum Entspannen

Die Unterkunft ist perfekt zum Entspannen geeignet. Das großzügige Haus bietet 4 bis 6 Personen ausreichend Platz. Die Küche ist derart ausgestattet, dass man problemlos für diese Gruppengröße kochen kann. Im Sommer nutzt man leider das gemütliche Wohnzimmer und Esszimmer mit Kamin kaum. Die große Terrasse kann zu jeder Tageszeit genutzt werden. Man findet immer ein schattiges Plätzchen und kann dabei trotzdem in die Weite schauen. Der Pool ist gut gepflegt und hat im Sommer eine angenehme Temperatur. Er lädt zum Schwimmen und Spielen ein. Der Vermieter ist nett, stets erreichbar und kümmert sich umgehend. Ein Auto ist auf jeden Fall von Nöten. Auch der nächst gelegende Supermarkt ist in der Sommerhitze nicht wirkliche zu Fuß zu erreichen. Das Mittelmeer erreicht man nach ca. 15 Minuten Fahrt. Ausflüge zum Atlantik oder zu den Städten wie Ronda, Granada samt der Alhambra sind mögliche Tagestouren. Dank einer Mischung aus Entspannungs– und Ausflugstagen haben wir den Urlaub dort sehr genosssen.

Another great week in this lovely farmhouse

We returned for a second visit to this villa after staying in nearby Casares for our first week and loved it just as much as the first time. The views from the terrace and the lovely terrace itself are probably highlights for us as well as the pool, the local village and just the ease of access to everything. We flew into Gibraltar which makes the transfer so easy. Highly recommended.

Fantastic !

This was a perfect villa and area for a family holiday. We spent time at the spacious villa, in the excellent pool and also enjoyed using the pool table when it was too hot. There were many areas to relax in and it was lovely having all meals outside overlooking the polo grounds. The house is as described and looks even better when you arrive. Jon was always available and took time to check the pool for us. We had nothing to worry about and felt very safe. It is a great place to relax but there are also many places to visit quite close - all details are provided in the villa. Gibraltar was a super day out and well worth a visit. We all had a wonderful holiday.

A WONDERFUL SPOT OF PARADISE IN THE COSTA DEL SOL

We had the most amazing and relaxing holiday ever! Although we have been numerous times to the cost del sol we had never known how beautiful and peaceful it could be. As we drove off the main roads towards the hills we became nervous- where would we end up, but then our final destination and we looked around and nothing prepares you for the beauty of the views and the serenity. The house does not disappoint it is spacious and has plenty of windows and doors to give access to all the views in different directions and lots of light. It is authentically built to look rustic with ceiling beams and dark marble floor tiles. The owner, John was so nice, friendly and helpful with any matter however small he went over the top to sort it out quickly. The pool was amazing and there was plenty of shade too when it got too hot by the pool. THE REAL TEST?? WE'VE BOOKED TO GO BACK IN OCTOBER :) Thanks John

John's Countryhouse, San Martin del Tesorillo.

We have just finished a very Nice four weeks september- stay at John's countryhouse on top of the hillside near San Martin del Tesorillo, Sotogrande.. Our stay during these four weeks have been very nice, calm and relaxed with a wonderful view from the Nice gardenpool and pergola outside the house. John, the owner, is helpful and Nice, and is what we Norwegians would Call a real gentleman! Yes, so if you want to have some weeks "on top of the world" With nobody to disturb you, we can highly recommend the Place and the Unic countryhouse! So thank you, John, for a Nice stay! Best regards from Moefrid and Leif. (Here is the same note in Norwegian:) Hallo! Vi har nettopp avsluttet et hyggelig fire ukers septemberopphold i Johns hyggelige og rommelige villa helt på toppen av en fjellside like utenfor San Martin del Tesorillo nær Sotogrande. Et opphyold som vi betegner som svært hyggelig og rolig uten naboer eller andre ting som forstyrret oss. Utsikten fra hagen med svømmebassenget og fra pergolaen foran huset er flott, og selve villan er rommelig og bygget i en enkel, men koselig "kolonistil"og med et velutstyrt kjøkken som gjorde matlagingen grei! John, husverten, som har sin egen bolig nedenfor og knapt synlig fra utleiehuset, er en hjelpsom og hyggelig kar, og vi kan anbefale både John og stedet hans på det beste. Takk for et hyggelig opphold, John! Vi kommer gjerne tilbake igjen! Hilsen Møyfrid og Leif.

One of the best

It's now the start of a new year and once again I'm searching for holiday villas in Spain. Each year we try to visit a new region. However, we now have a problem: it's going to be very difficult to find a villa as perfect as this one. We had a wonderful week in the Sotogrande region at the end of June 2012. The house exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and location. Our teenage sons loved the pool, the garden and of course the pool table. My husband and I especially enjoyed visiting the local villages for breakfast each morning and cooking in the evenings was a pleasure in the well-equipped kitchen. John, the owner was most welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We enjoyed day trips to Tarifa and Gibraltar. It's a wonderful area for a family holiday but especially if you are lucky enough to stay in this beautiful farmhouse.

Une très belle expérience

Nous venons de passer 3 belles semaines de vacances avec nos 3 enfants agés de 19, 16 et 10 ans. La location est très fidèle au descriptif, pas de mauvaise surprise. la maison est très confortable, très propre et meublée avec soins, on y est tout de suite très à l'aise. Le linge de maison est fourni. La terrasse nous permets de prendre tous nos repas à l'extérieur et de benéficier d'une vue magnifique sur la campagne. La piscine est très agréable et bien entretenue. L'après-midi nous pouvons nous reposer à l'ombre de beaux chenes liège sur les transats. nous avons pu admirer de beaux rapaces depuis le jardin. Le propriétaire, john, nous a reçu chaleureusement. Il est toujours disponible si nous avons besoin de quelque chose. Il vit sur la propriété mais reste très discret. Nous aimons beaucoup les animaux, aussi nous avons adoré regarder les chevaux qui sont sur la propriété. Il y a aussi 2 beaux cochons ibériques, que ma fille de 10 ans allaient nourrir chaque jour. De très belles plages sont à proximités. La région est très belle, il y a tant de visites à faire. Je recommande vivement cette adresse pour sa beauté, le dépaysement assuré, le calme et la gentillesse de John. une chose de plus, le règlement par virement bancaire était très simple et sécurisé. Abwechslung und Erholung garantiert

Wir verbrachten einen sehr erholsamen Urlaub in diesem sehr schönen Ferienhaus, das sehr gut ausgestattet und wunderbar eingerichtet ist. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das marrokanische Schlafzimmer. Die Einrichtung ist typisch Landhausstil. Wir, Familie mit zwei Söhnen (13+15 Jahre). Für die Jungs waren Pool, der große Garten zum Kicken, Billard eine schöne Abwechslung. Mit unserem Mietwagen haben wir div. Ausflüge zu sehr schönen Stränden gemacht: Alcaidesa (20 Min.), Tarifa (50 Min.), Bolonia Beach (75 Min.) Die Strände waren überhaupt nicht überfüllt. Im Gegenteil, das Schöne war, daß die genannten Strände noch sehr ursprünglich sind. Wunderbar gegessen und durch die sehr schöne Altstadt gelaufen, sind wir in Estepona. Natürlich stand auch Gibraltar auf dem Programm. Wir leisteten uns einen Guide, der mit uns eine abenteuerliche Führung unternahm. Ungefähr 40 Min. entfernt gibt es auch einen Wasserpark. John, der Vermieter, ist sehr sehr nett. Er kümmert sich sehr unauffällig um den Garten und den Pool, er ist offen für alle Fragen, sehr hilfsbereit und unheimlich nett. Das ganze Anwesen ist sehr gepflegt. Wenn wir abends in die Finca zurücikgekehrt sind, haben wir die Ruhe, die große Terrasse und den schönen Blick genossen. Jederzeit würden wir diese Unterkunft weiterempfehlen und auch wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Übrigens, die Abwicklung per Internet war reibungslos!

Perfect location for relaxing

We have just returned from a blissful 11 days at La Vigia with our 2 boys aged 5 & 7. The house was perfect, all the rooms including bedrooms furnished to a very high standard with everything we needed to hand. There was necessary shade on verandah or under the trees on sun loungers with lots of fun in the fantastic pool to cool down when needed. The views and peace and quiet were fantastic. John was always on hand for advice and help. The surrounding area was also beautiful with some nice meals in Sotogrande, plus great beach side restaurant serving fresh fish on Bolonia beach (costa de la luz)-having said that there was nothing better than just spending the day hanging out at La Vigia.

A tranquil hilltop retreat!

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at La Vigia. John was the perfect host, providing information and advice and ensuring all was well. The house was spacious and comfortable, well equipped and clean. The beautiful garden gave us plenty of space to sunbathe or relax in the shade of the cork oaks (unless being stirred by the woodpecker, busy in the bushes!). Our baby grand-daughter had her first dip in a swimming pool. Breakfast on the terrace was enhanced by the view of the birds of prey cruising on the morning thermals, with the occasional skirmish mid-air. Our regular nightly barbecues, overlooking the valley below, were often followed by a stroll down the hill to see Rambo and Hercules-- a Shetland and a Chestnut. The horse riding at Hipica Sotogrande was brilliant, as was the trendy Bar Ke on the marina. We enjoyed a superb Sunday lunch at El Molino del Conde. Thanks to John for these recommendations. We really do hope to return one day.

Secluded hilltop retreat

We have just returned from 2 weeks stay at Chalet La Vigia. What a perfect, peaceful location to completely unwind from everyday stresses. Our children (7, 5 & 3 yrs) enjoyed the pool, running around on the lawn and exploring the tent and surrounding tracks. There was plenty of shade on the veranda for grandma (80 yrs) to watch the children in comfort. Daddy was able to check his emails and do his work thanks to the wifi. The views are stunning. Watching the orange coloured full moon rise over the mountain will stick in our memory. Attention to detail is evident in every area of the house. The PG Tips teabags and other welcome groceries were invaluable. Airconditioning and Sky TV persuaded our children to take a break from the sun. Plenty of towels and a washing machine enabled us to travel light. The house was spotlessly clean and the maid who came to clean midway during our stay was fantastic! We did not leave the house often but when we did the marina of Sotogrande with its chic restaurants is a short drive away. Our eldest two children enjoyed the horse riding lessons at the Sotogrande Hipica less than 10 minutes' drive from the house. Alison and Lindsey were the perfect hosts providing us with a wealth of local knowledge and a beautiful dog Bigote for our children to play with. We had a wonderful holiday and hope to be able to return one day. Thank you so much!!!!!

Away from it all

We have just returned from a fantastic week staying at this property, what a find. The property was ideal for our family of 5 including 3 teenage children. It was a great place to escape to to unwind. It is well off the beaten track but yet only a short car drive from the beach, water park, Gibraltar and Spanish white villages. The property has everything you need to help you relax, a fantastic large pool, breath taking views. We decided to eat in most evenings enjoying sitting on the varanda, cooking a bbq and enjoying a few glasses of wine while the sun went down. The kids were happy as there was a tv and computer. Also there was the lovely Alison & Lindsey who were easy to contact and ask question on where to go etc. Would highly recommend this property, its one of the best places we have rented for a long time.

Lovely place to stay

Have just returned from a stay at the farmhouse, and had a brilliant time. The farmhouse is great and everyone loved the swimming pool. There are loads of things to do nearby, Gibraltar is about 30 mins away. The owners are very welcoming, and the farmhouse is in a very peaceful location. Definitely recommend this as a lovely place to stay.

Fantastic house, definitely a home away from home.

Just returned from 10 days in this farmhouse, we're a family with 2 teenage boys and had a great time. Lots to do in the area but we happily spent whole days relaxing in the garden & cooling off in the lovely pool. The kitchen has all you need so we ended up cooking or having a bbq most evenings. Friends stayed with us for part of our holiday and also thought it was the perfect retreat. The owners live on site & nearby but despite being accessible, and very helpful & informative about the area, weren't at all intrusive. Lots of extras were left for us from wine, milk & ice-creams to basic cooking ingredients & towels are provided which saves lots of weight in suitcases. The house grounds are private & tranquil and the TV & computer meant the boys could be tempted out of the sun for at least part of the day. The garden overlooks a very smart polo & dressage yard - it was interesting looking down on them exercising their horses although sadly no polo matches while we were there. Recommended for just about anyone wanting a peaceful location within easy reach of glorious beaches & restaurants etc. We're planning a return visit.

Relaxing Heaven!

What a find! The pictures do not do this house justice. We have returned from two weeks of chilling by the pool, watching polo, and loving the peace and quiet. The children spent all day in the large pool. Alison the owner was SO helpful and having her on site was great for local ideas etc. The sofa was incredibly comfortable I could hardly get my son and husband away from the ENORMOUS TV and the aircon!! There is so much to do around and about, be it Tarifa or Sotogrande, but there is no need to venture away as the house has everything to offer.
