Peaceful Creekside Cabin, Easy Access (Paved road) - Walnut Creek Haven

Our 2BR & 1B cabin is nestled in the Nantahala Forest, located in the desirable Walnut Creek area, between Franklin and Highlands. Downtown Franklin is only a few miles away for all of your shopping and restaurant needs. Walnut Creek Haven is close to many waterfalls, trout fishing, hiking, and the local gem mining. Come to a place where beautiful scenery, hiking, fishing, history and Southern hospitality are a way of life.

Our Cabin has been completely renovated and has all new appliances and furnishings. All one level living with open floor plan, eat in Kitchen and a dining nook. The Cabin is easily accessible as it is on a paved, county maintained road, and is only a short distance from the beautiful Cullasaja Falls, as well as many other waterfalls in the area.
We love to sit on the back deck overlooking the creek and let the sound of the water melt our cares away.

If you’re into motorcycles, the roads in the area provide the most fun possible on two or three wheels. And the cabin has ample parking for your bike trailer.

The kitchen is fully equipped for all of your cooking needs if you choose to "eat in". There is also a propane grill on the deck and ample seating to enjoy the natural setting while you relax with a good meal or cup of coffee in the morning.

Overall this is a great little cabin. Really clean and comfortable beds! The owner was extremely responsive and handled an issue in a timely manner. It doesn’t state that the house is just off of the road that was really busy but the back deck was so amazing that this didn’t bother us.

This cabin was wonderful. Beautifully laid out. Living room furniture was super comfortable. The kitchen was laid out great with a working and sitting island as well as a separate dining area. Stocked down to the smallest detail. No need to bring tin foil, plastic wrap, plastic storage bags. Bring nothing, they provided it all. In the bathroom, plenty of room to put all your makeup and toiletries. They had a hairdryer of course but a magnifying mirror, disposable razors and towels galore. They even had hotel style pumps in the shower for body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Bed was super comfortable. My favorite thing was in each room they had multiple plug ins for each outlet. No need to unplug a lamp to plug in something else. I did not even have to open my electronic chargers and cord case because they had a charging system with cords for iPhone lightning as well as c style charging cords and room for 6 devices to charge at once.Back deck was huge and covered. We did not need to use the second bedroom as it was only the 2 of us. I would definitely stay again. We did not get to make a fire due to weather, but all the supplies were there. Even marshmallow roasting extension forks! The driveway was great and you could turn fully around and enter the road driving forward. You did not have to back out. A real plus on a mountain road.

Work stay

Booked this for myself and an employee while working in town. It was great. Nice place after a long day. Peaceful, clean and door dash delivers so we didnt have to get back out. The beds were very comfortable too.

Last-minute Getaway

My husband and I planned a last minute trip to the area and were blessed to find this beautiful cabin. It was perfect for the two of us! Incredibly clean and very well stocked. We enjoyed our time in your cabin.

Best 5 days!

Patty provided everything you could possibly want in a stay. Very comfortable cabin. I would love to live there full time! LOL! Easy to get there and conveniently located to great tourist sites. Would definitely stay there again.

What a great location! Close to Franklin and Highlands. Peaceful cabin with everything you need for a comfortable stay and just as described in the listing. My husband and I stayed for 6 nights using it as a home base for our visits to the many waterfalls, beautiful drives and our visit to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We loved the convenience to both grocery stores and restaurants so we could flex as to when and how to eat. We grilled on the deck and cooked in the very well equipped kitchen. Would definitely love to return and recommend Walnut Creek Haven!

Wonderful Accessible Cabin

Walnut Creek Haven is just that for the active family or seniors looking for easy access to their accommodations. Wonderful wooded setting in the mountains. Spacious parking area. Porch in front and deck with wooded view in back. The interior is well appointed and fully equipped.centrally located to all regional attractions and destinations.

Work stay

Rented this cabin for different workers to stay while working in Franklin. Nice short drive to work. Extremely clean. Perfect for adults. It does not have bedroom TVs so take something with you if you have to have noise. 100% recommend.

/Relaxing Getaway

This was a lovely perfect cabin to rest and relax from the busyness of life. It's spotlessly clean with all kinds of closet and shelf space and generously stocked with thoughtful amenities. Appliances are new and easy to use including a wonderful washer and dryer for all your dirty hiking clothes. It's definitely cozy and feels like home away from home.,

Wonderful Waterfalls

When we arrived my wife was impressed with how wonderfully clean the place was (she is VERY picky); and how tastefully decorated (I wouldn't know tasteful from a trash dump). Everything we needed was available and the beds were wonderfully comfortable. I would have loved to try the BBQ but we got back from our waterfall adventures too late every night to take the time for that.

Nice Cozy Cabin

We loved our stay in Franklin. The cabin was nicely appointed with special touches all throughout. It was very clean with a back deck that made you feel you were in a treehouse. Very peaceful. We enjoyed our two days of hiking and waterfalls. We especially enjoyed the Rufus Morgan Trail and waterfall as well as Siler Bald via the Appalachian Trail. We also ate at Root + Barrel Kitchen and enjoyed both our entrees. While we were tired each day, returning to the back porch, with the sounds of the running stream and a glass of wine was something to look forward to.

A lovely, well-organized cottage

This cottage has nearly everything you could want in a place to stay. The owner has prepared the house with extreme thoughtfulness (as if she were staying there). There are many creature-comforts supplied throughout the home. Items like placemats, extra napkins, spices, coffee, decaf coffee, sugar, etc., in the kitchen. The laundry room comes with laundry soap (in case you forgot yours). The bathroom had containers with lotions, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, liquid hand soap, Q-tips, hairspray, blow dryer, and other personal care supplies. Everything in this house was neat and orderly. There were specifically marked containers in the kitchen and bath, labeled light switches, baskets for housing items in the living room and bathroom. I loved the organization! The new king-sized mattress in the main bedroom was probably one of the most comfortable mattresses I have ever slept on when vacationing (that is saying a lot when you live with major back issues!). The only negatives I would have are that the living room furniture that looks amazing, is not the most comfortable for people like me who have a difficult time getting up from a lower position. Both my husband and I found it hard to be comfortable on the 2 couches and the overstuffed chair. I also had to go out and buy a one-step step stool to get up into the king-sized bed. I am only about 5' 3" and my buttocks would just barely make it up to the edge of the mattress. The added step from the stool was helpful.

Beautiful cabin with pristine views! The back deck was our favorite spot. Very clean, comfortable and well appointed. The host was easy to communicate with as well. Be aware that this cabin sits right on a main mountain road with a good amount of traffic 24 hours a day - sound machines in the bedrooms help!

This cabin was a gem. The little details that the host thought of were great. Things like. Extra toothbrushes, lotion, hairspay, and a first aid box. The kitchen was the best stocked I have stayed in. . Even though I did not cook this trip, I would have had everything I needed to do a meal. We visited all 3 towns each were a manageable distance. If I come back I will definitely choose this place.

Very nice place, very clean, good location, and the hosts attention to the small details, like the phone charging station, hand held mirror etc…. Was a pleasant surprise. Would stay here again. The thing I wish was different is the last minute mandatory insurance that wasn’t disclosed upfront. If feel it should be prorated by the number of days you stay. It would’ve been the same fee had I stayed a week. That being said I think all VRB’s are doing the same thing.

Fantastic cabin

This cabin was just perfect for us. We did a little getaway between Christmas and New Years and this cabin was everything we needed. You will not find a cleaner cabin. It also had everything you could need, the owners went above and beyond making sure the cabin had everything available to make your stay feel like home. Listening to the creek below while drinking my morning coffee on the deck was just an an added bonus. It was closely located to everything we wanted to do: chasing waterfalls, mountain hikes, craft stores, and antiques. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling near the area.

While looking for a vacation home within a days drive from our home, we came across the town of Franklin and fell in love with it. We were looking for just a small 2 Br cabin that was easily accessible and came across this newly remodeled cabin that was for sale. We instantly fell in love with the photos. After visiting the cabin and sitting on the deck enjoying the peace and quiet and the soothing sound of the small creek, we knew this was the place!
