"Thornleigh" - Homestead near Orange NSW

This property is close to Orange. You’ll love the house because of the light, the views of country Australia (especially as the sun goes down), the comfy beds, the 25m lap pool, and tennis court. We are very close to local award winning wineries and award winning restaurants so the perfect spot from which to explore Orange. This house is great for couples, business travelers, and families.

The property is a typical country home with fresh eggs from the chooks , horses and cattle in the paddocks, lots of space to entertain. We hope you can come and enjoy the property sometime soon. We know that when we go on holiday we like to relax, be comfortable, head to the best spots and feel at home right away - so this is our philosophy when we welcome you!

We are a Tanner Architect designed house. In 2009 the extension was built onto the original Thornleigh cottage. As one of the original cottages in Borenore the original part of our home is a wonderful example of the local architecture from this area in the late 1800's. The more recent tower acts as a 'green' cooling system drawing the heat out in the summer months and minimising the need for air conditioning. The homestead stands in expansive gardens complete with tennis court and 25m pool and almost an acre of lavender which flowers en-masse in November/December. We are a welcoming space with everything needed to make your stay away from home a great one!

We are 12 minutes from central Orange and close to many of the well know vineyards. There is a local orchard which is open for milk / essentials just down the road and your Saturday newspaper. Borenore is an old settlement - peaceful and famous for marble and the local caves which are easy to access from our house.

Just a note on the bedroom configuration. The Queen Bedroom is a studio summerhouse with its own bathroom / kettle and toaster. Not recommended for young children as a door leads directly out to the pool area. This studio does have a sofa bed (a great space for two though!). The king room is set up as a king and cannot be separated into singles. The room configuration is one queen; one king; one king single; one double; one twin; another king single
