Weā€™re open again and canā€™t wait to welcome you! With a stunning new kitchen, bathroom, fresh living spaces and a cosy fireplace, Woodmount Ridge is ready for your next getaway ā€“ whether itā€™s a family holiday, birthday celebration, wine tour or relaxing weekend with friends.

Located just 20 minutes from the heart of Pokolbin wine country and major Hunter Valley event venues, and only 1hr 30min from Wahroonga at the start of the M1, weā€™re perfectly positioned for both convenience and seclusion. Corner stores are just 5 minutes away, and larger grocery options within 10.

Set on 80 peaceful acres, the farmhouse is surrounded by space and serenity. Guests love kicking back with a glass of wine while watching the kangaroos roll in at dusk, playing a game of cricket or soccer on the lawn, or enjoying long lunches and local wine tastings nearby. The wrap-around enclosed deck is ideal for afternoon drinks, with sweeping views of the countryside.

The house comfortably sleeps up to 8 adults across 4 bedrooms:

1 x King (can be split into 2 singles- please request this)

2 x Queen rooms

1 x room with 2 King Singles
Thereā€™s also a rollaway bed available for one extra guest (BYO bedding if using this).

In warmer months, all bedrooms and living areas are air-conditioned. In the cooler seasons, the newly installed fireplace and outdoor firepit make for an unforgettable country stay. Plus, each bedroom is fitted with its own heating for added comfort.

We welcome well-behaved guest dogs and horses ā€“ perfect for those who want to explore the beautiful local riding trails. (Conditions apply ā€“ see below.) While we donā€™t offer riding or animal feeding onsite, weā€™re happy to recommend great local experiences nearby.

A few helpful things to know before you book:

We love hosting furry friends ā€“ guest dogs and horses are welcome with prior arrangement. Just a note: dogs need to be supervised at all times while on the property and can not be left alone. We may be able to help you arrange a dog sitter who you pay directly - if you have plans for a wine tour or outing.

If you're bringing horses, we have a paddock available (fees and a waiver apply), and the surrounding country roads are perfect for a scenic ride or enjoy the arena.

While the farmhouse is very private, it shares a driveway with the agistment horse owners who come to ride and feed their horses as well as a managerā€™s residence. The manager and a few friendly horse owners may be around occasionally and are always happy to help if needed.

For long weekends, we do have a three-night minimum stay ā€“ perfect for really settling in and enjoying the peace and quiet. For golfers and walking groups- Tuesday and Wednesday nights are heavily discounted.

The property was just lovely, all we needed for our group. House was so clean and nicely decorated and equipped with all the essentials. Loved the different areas to have meals, the wrap around verandah is such an asset and a lovely place for Brekky with fly screens added to avoid insects getting in. Also a great place for our dogs to sleep at night. We brought our horses and used the arena to ride them in. The countryside around is so pretty. We were able to visit Wollombi village quite easily and go for a lovely long walks and a paddle in a creek. We enjoyed the fire pit at night too. Would highly recommend this property. Thank you

Perfect family farm stays

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful farm property ā€“ the perfect family getaway! We were a group of 6 adults and a child, and the home was incredibly spacious and comfortable for all of us.The highlights for us were the cosy fireplace, the well-appointed bedrooms, and the stunning renovated kitchen and bathroom. The firepit was a great touch for evenings together, and the entire property was well set up with thoughtful inclusions throughout.The historic charm of the home was lovely, and it was ideal for our dogs too ā€“ they happily slept in the enclosed deck area. The neighbouring horses were a sweet surprise ā€“ we loved saying hello and giving them a pat.Weā€™d highly recommend this stay for families looking for a peaceful break close to home, and weā€™ll definitely be back again!

This easy access property offered a lovely environment to relax, unwind and come together. A favourite location was the mosquito protected balcony which displayed a lovely view and a nice breeze. We would definitely recommend Woodmount Ridge!

Quite and peaceful!

Woodmount Ridge was a great place to stay with the family, there were 6 adults and 2 small children, we never felt crowded, there was plenty of room to spread out. As the weather was wet, cold and windy the indoor fire kept us warm and cozy! The beds were very comfortable, can highly recommend!

Fabulous house for a group of four couples to get together.

Great house in a beautiful setting. Loved the indoor & outdoor fires. Enjoyed watching the sunset & the horses grazing in the paddock. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. Cozy spaces indoor and out.Lots of thoughtful touches. We had a great get together. As advised we brought all our food, drink & wood with us. Shops & wineries are about twenty minutes away. Next time we will bring our horses, the arena look fabulous. Thanks for having us.

Exactly what we were after!

This was the perfect rural getaway for us and the family we were travelling with. Amelia made the process really easy and the house had everything we were after. The kids and dogs loved exploring the property and the area around. The proximity to Cessnock and Pokolbin worked for us as well as we were far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet but close enough to get the things we needed and keep the kids entertained. We're already planning a return to Woodmount Ridge!

Fantastic weekend away

Had a really enjoyable weekend away at Woodmount Ridge. The property was clean and had everything we needed to be relaxed and comfortable. Sitting outside next to the fire on our cold evenings was a real highlight. Highly recommended!

Beautiful property, but really need a good clean. Crockery and cutlery needs a good clean. Wanted to fry eggs, but frying pan was in a real bad state. Personally I donā€™t like drinking my coffee from a chippped mug.

Saddle Club

As a group of 6 in the Valley for a friends celebration we were perfectly located and loved the great vibe of Woodmount Ridge. Cosy and welcoming with lovely touches from the wonderful host Amelia. Great place for a family or group - made me want to go back to my horse riding days and bring my puppy for a country experience :-)

Lovley place but better in winter

A beautiful property, not too far from wineries and restaurants. The only downside is how hot some of the bedrooms can get when its a hot summer day (35+). There was air-conditioning in the main living space and a small portable air conditioner is available + fans, but its not enough to cool all the bedrooms comfortably. Would absolutely stay again, but probably not in summer.

Wonderful stay in the Hunter Valley

We stayed at Woodmount Ridge for a family weekend and attending a wedding. Woodmount Ridge was super comfortable, spacious and well appointed, very clean, comfy beds and we had a great night around the camp fire! Easy access to the Hunter Valley wineries. Looking forward to our next visit!

Amazing!

This was an absolutely amazing stay. The beds were SO comfy and the oven was large enough to cook for an army. The fireplace was magic! The wrap around deck was a godsend, and so lovely to eat early morning breakfast in the fresh air! The kids loved the little row boat, and the horses! Honestly i would move here permanently if it was possible. It was a PERFECT stay!

Great family getaway

Everything was as described, the photos were accurate and Amelia's instructions/directions were spot on. The enclosed veranda was a great place to hang out and house the dogs. Thank you for a much needed getaway!

December 2020 stay at Congewai

We were 3 families with 4 kids and loved the property. It's got enough space outdoors for the kids to run around, the bedrooms are small except for Master bedroom but compensated by two nice and large wrap-around terraces, as well as ample outdoor sitting space. Fire pits outdoors are an absolute hit. The farm is conveniently located ~15 minutes drive from Cessnock and ~30 minutes drive from Hunter Valley Christmas gardens. Amelia was very responsive and also proactive in recommending us the places we could go to. Last but not the least, Chris the neighbour grows beautiful organic produce - we got great kiffler potatoes, beets and also fresh organic eggs.

A wonderful weekend getaway

We had an excellent time away. The property is beautiful and well equipped. Amelia was very easy to communicate with. The house had plenty of room to accommodate everyone and we loved the wrap around verandah - this is enclosed and very useful in all weather conditions. It rained most of the time, but this didnā€™t prevent us from having a lovely time. We will be back to use the fire pit!
