Retreat on Lake Winnebago

Ranch style house, great for families, couples or groups at a reasonable price for staying directly on Lake Winnebago. Huge yard with fire pit, horseshoe pit, nestled in a quiet cove with shallow sandy waters right off the pier. The pier is available for use, however the water is only ~2 feet deep. Beds to accommodate 6 adults and 2 kids plus blow up cot if needed.

Feel free to make use of our bag set in the yard, grill / fully stocked kitchen for making meals, stand-up paddle boards, and more! Make yourselves at home, all sheets / linens / towels are there for your use.

The southeastern side of Oshkosh is woodsy, quiet, and tucked away from all the hustle and bustle, but still close to modern conveniences (Pik n Save, Target, Walmart, Shopko, Menards, etc). Oshkosh is home to the annual EAA AirVenture, and the house is only ~15 minutes from the action in July!

The host was wonderful and very responsive. The house is very nice with everything we needed for a quick weekend trip for my son’s wedding. Close to downtown Oshkosh, but still out in a secluded lake neighborhood. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we’ll be back!!

We had the best week at the lake house! The home is spacious; the kitchen is large with tons of counter space and has everything you need. The living room is cozy and the washer and dryer came in handy. I brought my own paddleboard and access into the water is very easy as it's so shallow, don't even need to get wet if you don't want to as I stepped unto my board from the edge of the lawn's sidewalk. The cove was quiet and only a couple of boats departed from the neighboring docks so floating was super safe and enjoyable. We didn't use the 2 hard/foam paddleboards in the garage, but they were there if needed with a few lifejackets, as well as some blow up tubes. We were told the kayak may not be functioning. There were camp chairs in the garage. the firepit was nice and the neighbor brought us kindling as he was cleaning up his yard. Plenty of towels, and there was a basket of extra sunscreen and bug spray. I was surprised that the mosquitos weren't bad. Short drive to grocery stores and anything you need. We ate at several of the surrounding restaurants. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a wonderful week!

2nd Stay

The 1st time we stayed we gave a 10/10, so we had something to compare this visit to 5 years later. The place was immaculately clean as last time and the communication with the owner was stellar. However, there were a few “flaws” that we didn’t experience last time. The dishwasher didn’t clean the dishes thoroughly and it defaulted to the 2-1/2 hour full cycle. Having said that, it left particles of food on the dishes that either had to be rewashed by hand and/or saved for the next cycle. This happened with every load and we pre-washed/rinsed the dishes before putting them in. The cabinet doors would not stay closed. This drove me nuts. You can see there are little Velcro stickers they applied, but they don’t work no matter how much pressure was applied to closing them. I was losing my mind at first thinking how did I not close them? Then I noticed the Velcro and they stayed open the entire duration of our visit. Lastly, the paddle boards were a hit again, but unlike our last visit, you clearly see the kayak that we used on the property, but when my kids went to tip it upright, it was full of caked on mud, insects and cobwebs. This kayak was “garage kept” on our first visit so it was useable and in pristine condition back then. I cannot say the same with this visit and my kids were disappointed. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, but not as much as the first time we were there which made us come back this time around.

Great place to stay

This property was amazing. It had so many nice extras! Kitchen had most things I have at home. Katie is an amazing host and always responded quickly prior to staying at her property. We would definitely stay again. The property is so relaxing and peaceful. Also very friendly neighbors

Great location & family spot

Cozy with a great view. A great family spot by the lake with beautiful trees and a good set up. Coffee and amenities were available and this property had a host that cared and shared their cabin like we were family.

We stayed. At the property for 6 days. Very beautiful view. Very clean. Host was very accommodating, and vet responsive. Would stay again , if going to this area. Comfortable beds and living area. Easy to get around as well.

This is a lovely property in a quiet neighborhood. The owner was great to work with and very friendly. There was alot of fun stuff to do from the paddleboards to yard games. We all had the best time!

Beautiful home

Great place with a lovely setting. We rated the home as well as we could. Five stars for the host who was awesome. Unfortunately the smell of cat urine was so thick in the air that we had to buy air fresheners and have candles lit all weekend. A lovely place and a great host, but we are sensitive to animal odors and no review mentioned this, nor did the wonderful owner.

Nice Lake Home

We enjoyed our stay, beds were very comfortable. House was a good size for 8 people. Kitchen has a good selection of pots, pans. The appliances were nice and we really liked the dishwasher. We liked the little things that Katie provided - spices, oil, condiments, plastic wrap, foil, plastic bags, extra toilet paper and paper towel and poopoouri in the bathrooms. It was also nice to have beach towels to use. Lake was nice with sandy bottom and shallow for quite a way out. We enjoyed swimming and using the paddleboards. When we first entered the home, there was a "cat pee" odor but it got better over the week.

Perfect for a Quick Getaway!

The Lake Winnebago property was perfect for our annual fall trip. Our communication with Katie was excellent and prompt! The house was clean and comfortable. Whether it was hanging out and watching some football or relaxing outside by the lake it was just what we needed! We would definitely return! Thanks again a Katie!

We are from the Chicago suburbs, and feel tied down to this area because of our jobs, family and friends, but have ALWAYS wanted to be in a less crowded, quieter area on the water somewhere. Our solution was to try the best of both worlds with this vacation rental and since we can't always be up north, we want to share our home away from home with you!

We currently live in the Chicago suburbs, so instead of upgrading to a house with a yard in Illinois, why not get a house on Lake Winnebago to enjoy some weekends and share with others on the rest!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The entire outdoor area is what initially attracted us to the home. Beautiful large yard with our own pier located in a quiet cove off Lake Winnebago. The cove is shallow and sandy, great for paddle-boarding / kayaks / swimming. The interior of the home is also quite cozy and comfortable as well, but we enjoy the outdoors the most :)
