Large 9 Bed 11 Bath Private Lodge, 1.5 Miles To Hunter Mountain W Bar & Games

The AK Lodge (Previously Known As "The Gardner Inn") is located in the Village of Hunter Mountain a mile and half from the entrance to Hunter Mountain Ski resort. We are seven miles from the Windham Ski resort. Located in the heart of the Catskill area with plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. There are many hiking trails, golf, tennis activities, country shops, and local restaurants. The home sits on a hill with a beautiful view of Hunter Mountain, great for Sunrises & Sunsets. The lodge is a short drive to the Catskills popular North-South Pond which is great for swimming, fishing, kayaking, and other water activities. Making the AK LODGE perfect for all seasons. The lodge fits 18 guests comfortably with room for up to 25+.

Each bedroom has a queen bed and a private bathroom for extra privacy. Each bedroom is furnished with a personal story in every room. The Dining Room and Living area creates a spectacular atmosphere with a beautiful view of Hunter Mountain. A large commercial kitchen for guests to cook meals fast and comfortably. Guests favorites include the large Bar and entertainment area as well as the pond in the back yard which gives an additional outdoor feel. The large Patio area is great for outdoor events and dinners (including weddings, engagement parties, birthdays and other celebrations.)
There is Wi-Fi throughout the whole house which makes the home perfect for business trips as well.
We don’t have a laundry room available.

Excellent location for exploring Hunter Mountain area, with beautiful views of the mountain. Ideal for large groups and family gatherings. Multiple large common areas provide comfortable spaces for gathering together along with opportunities for some privacy, when desired. Private bathroom for each bedroom is a huge plus. Listing and photos are accurate. Host is responsive, helpful, and accommodating. Very highly recommend.

Wonderful property for a large group. Plenty of space and very nice that there were so many bedrooms/bathrooms. Convenient to hiking spots, Hunter Mountain and a sweet cafe.Host was very communicative.

This property was a gem. The host was super responsive to our inquiries. Every guest had their own space to retreat to. The living area with the fireplace was awesome. The kitchen superb. The dining room grand. We will definitely be looking to return again. Thank you for a great experience!

Absolutely perfect for a family reunion!

Cannot say enough great things about this property. The kitchen was spacious enough for our several excellent chefs to help cook for the family reunion of 16 people.

Cozy lodge for our family vacation

We had 17 people stay here for our family vacation and we had a blast! Having a private bathroom for each bedroom was great. We loved looking at the stars from the hot tub. The hosts were super responsive and accommodating. Everything was clean. A lovely stay!

Couples Ski Trip

Great time as always. The lodge is very nice and accommodating for large groups. We have visited this lodge often and our group always have an amazing time! The owner is gracious and is prompt with answering any questions or concerns. We love the area! Definitely will be returning!

The lodge was perfect for our group of 18. The large kitchen was awesome for our Saturday pot luck. We enjoyed the bar, pool table and relaxing in the livingroom. The wood fired hot tub had a layer of ice in it and we didnt bother trying to fire it up. The fire pit area was under a heavy layer of snow so we did mot use that area either. The rooms were comfortable and it was nice that everyone had thier own bathroom. We definitely would return if available for our next gathering.

Wedding Weekend

We rented this house for our wedding party and spouses, and it was fantastic. The setup is great and the owners have done a good job doing some updates. Commercial kitchen helps with cooking big meals and the views from the back patio are fantastic. Owner was quick to respond and worked with me quite a bit to make our stay exactly what we needed. Awesome spot!

FDNY

We are an nyc firehouse that stayed there for 1 night for the FDNY ski races. There was about 20Of us and the house was more than big enough to accommodate us all. The owners make everything very easy and responded instantly with any questions. Will definitely be staying here again.

AK Lodge

Place was perfect for our large crowd. Each bedroom having its own bath was great. Plenty of parking. Commercial kitchen worked so well with a large group. Location was nearby dining choices in Windham, an easy drive. Bar setup was a fav along with the pool table. The lodge has been nicely updated but is not brand new so don’t expect perfection, but the place worked so well for us. Sadly, we didn’t get out much to explore as the weather made driving challenging. We have been doing this for 3 years now and the AK was the best fit thus far. Strongly suggest it.

The perfect house for a group

The house is perfect for a large group of adults (we are a combination of couples and singles). The bedrooms being on a different level from the bar and kitchen were so nice so everyone was able to go to sleep when they wanted without being disturbed by those still awake. Every bedroom having it’s own bathroom is also a huge plus. We had so much fun cooking in the huge kitchen; especially on the flat top, we made some great grilled cheeses, smash burgers, breakfast sandwiches, quesadillas and so much more! The fridge did freeze food like we were warned about, more than just the first shelf though. The house is located just down the street from the mountain, there are local bars in town but we were having so much fun at the house we didn't need to go out. The host was always available and very easy to communicate with. We would definitely rent this house again.

Came for the scenic riding and the Catskill Mountain Thunder Motorcycle Festival.

Best place we have ever rented! Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom and it was in a perfect location! There were plenty of spots to hang out with our friends, both inside and out.

Amazing view

We were having small wedding group only our closest family and friends. The mountain back drop is breath taken. Justyna was kind enough to let us see this place before booked it. We got a lot compliment of this location and how convenience that every rooms have their own bathrooms. However, we wish we could have know before arrive was Jacuzzi was out of service. AC in some of the room had multifunction but we contacted owner and got those AC fixed right the way. Overall, this place is amazing. We definitly plan to come back.

Fulfilled expectation

Due to our misunderstanding we took a while before we understood the check in, we eventually figured it out without contacting the host, it was not the fault of the host, we just did not pay enough attention to the instructions. We were completely satisfied with the mix of private and open space. The kitchen met and surpassed our expectations, the surroundings was scenic and panoramic. The host responded to our questions immediately and was very accessible. All aspects of the facility functioned as expected. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this facility to friends or family.

Fantastic group experience

The space was absolutely perfect for gathering 15 of our closest friends for our wedding weekend. Plenty of room for games as well as spaces for more personal moments. Aside from a couple of minor kitchen issues, the property lived up to all of our expectations and then some. Justyna was responsive throughout the lead-up to the weekend as well. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Our group loved the lodge! Such a fun and beautiful property. With 9 bedrooms, almost everyone got to have their own personal bed and bathroom. The accommodation was very well stocked with supplies/amenities. Owner was extremely responsive to my messages. Great location!
