Nestled amongst the trees, you will find Our Golden Retreat to be a true escape to nature. With an awesome lakefront view and a spacious, gated deck perfect for enjoying your morning coffee on a summer day or just stepping outside to enjoy the colors of fall/winter.

This home offers generous yard space for pets and children to play. A walkway gently slopes to the water front within yards of the house. Inside you will find a cozy atmosphere where you can dine with the family while overlooking the lake and curl up to a nice warm fire at night.

The lower level offers another entire living space in itself with a kitchenette area, a queen bedroom and a family room, with an additional wood fireplace, with views of the lake.

The upper level of Our Golden Retreat has two spacious bedrooms with a private balcony.

This home is conveniently located on State Park Road near many family activities at the Discovery Center, Deep Creek Bike Trails, The State Park, and endless opportunity for boating, swimming, canoeing, etc. The perfect get-away for the whole family.

Pet friendly

The home is situated on a slight incline and overlooks the lake. We had our daughters spend the week with us and 2 dogs. The home is good sized with enough room to not feel crowded. The new deck is great and we used it alot. The large yard area was perfect for the dogs. Views of the lake were amazing.

Nice getaway- no AC

The house was a nice getaway to kick off summer. However, the house was listed to have AC and it did not. Also the number of bedrooms listed was not accurate… there was one more than anticipated, but that’s better than one fewer! Overall it was a nice stay, but if the weather was warmer the no AC would have made it miserable.

Gorgeous location!

This property was a lot of fun! It has a beautiful lake view from every floor. We took full advantage of the boat dock with direct lake access. The best part was that my elderly father was able to join us because the ground floor was easily accessible. We also loved the ability to bring our dogs and watch them jump right in the lake. The main deck is even fenced in to allow your dogs and kids easy access to fresh air without them wandering away. There were only 2 reasons I could not give 5 stars. The first, was that the property appeared to have had an attempted break in before we arrived. The glass on the door downstairs had been cut and the screen door upstairs had been taken off. There did not appear to be any damage on the inside. However, the property manager was very easy and pleasant to work with when we reported it. The second reason was for cleanliness. Although it was clear that the property had been cleaned it looked like it had been vacant for quite a while because the dust was extremely thick. This is not a big deal for most but my daughter has asthma and for the price I felt like that should have been taken care of. We ended up having to wipe everything down. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Great location!

House is in a great location. View of the lake is amazing! Only downfall is there is no AC but there were plenty of fans to cool the house down...just made it a bit noisy with them all running full blast. Would be nice if there was a screen door for the sliding patio door to to let more air in. Would definitely stay again!

Great getaway.

Great House

The house and location were perfect. The only negative I can provide is the house wasn’t super clean. For the cleaning fee we paid, it appeared they did very little. The house needed a deep clean. But we had a great stay otherwise.

Great Way to Close Out the Summer

This house was exactly what we were looking for...a no fuss week at the lake to close out our summer. The location is great and very private. The weather was nice and cool so we built a few fires, played games and did puzzles. We rented a boat, fished and even played a little soccer on the flat area adjacent to the house. We had more than enough bedrooms for the 4 of us and the bar was great for serving breakfasts for the family!

Great Location &Beautiful Property

We had a great time at Our Golden Retreat. The house was nice inside, bathrooms updated, plenty of room. The location was ideal, we loved the lake access and it was a nice private spot to take two dogs. As much as we enjoyed our stay, we were not able to connect to wifi, even after calling the rental company and Xfinity. The door code did not work, several attempts were made and we couldn't call the rental company from the house because no service and no wifi...The upstairs balcony railing is questionable and there are several deck boards that NEED to be replaced, a chair leg went through one, a few screws have worked themselves out.. Overall, we would definatly go back, prepared to be offline because it was nice for everyone but someone who had school work to do and hoping they repair the deterioration on the deck.

Great Memorial Day weekend!

Our two families and dogs had a wonderful stay in this property. The view from the deck was gorgeous and we spent hours on the dock fishing and swimming. We had five kids ages 4-11 with us and they were all delighted. House was clean and had plenty of space for all of us. We will come again!

Reviewer Comments: My family (2 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, 2 grandkids, 2 dogs) had a great time at Our Golden Retreat. We each had a floor to ourselves but hung out together a lot in the living room. We loved that it had a dock for our boat and a pretty private backyard. The kitchen is also well equipped for cooking meals. The one thing that could be improved is If they replace the patio set. It is old.

First time Taylor Made renters

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was disappointed that the house still wasn't ready when we got there. We paid for early check in but housekeeping informed us that no one informed her. It wasn't her fault and we just waited until it was ready. I put a few calls and email into your office with a few questions we had. BUT no one returned neither the calls or email. Again, nothing that would cause us any problems but just would have appreciated a call back. VERY happy with the house. All the room we needed and a very sound proof house. Teenage boy playing video games till all hours and a 6 week old baby could not be heard. We rented off of Raileys for 14 years but needed a bigger place and Taylor Made came through. Very happy and already booked for 2019.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the location, lake access, nice open lawn space, view of the lake from the deck, proximity to the state park, dock, fire pit. However the property needs a lot of maintenance and updating. Sofa bed was broken so the property did not sleep 12 as advertised. One family member had no bed to sleep on. Old unusable foldup bed, screen doors broken, dirt under furniture, porch needs paint, porch furniture very dirty, kitchen cabinets broken, some windows have no screens or do not open, TV outdated, old VCR tapes for entertainment. We reported some broken items on check in but they were not reported to the maintenance crew so we had to call again. The maintenance people who did come were very good.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our Golden Retreat is a great property that is great for families and groups looking to enjoy the lake. It is lake front has a slight hill and set of stairs to access the water. Their is a patio feet from the lake along with a fire pit adjacent to that. The house has all the amenities necessary but I would suggest you bring extra pots and pans if you are looking to do a lot of cooking. We couldn't fine one matching lid and very few pots. Their is a great warp around porch that offer awesome lake views.

The house is in a beautiful setting along the lake. We never got tired of the views. The house was certainly large enough and was fully equipped but it is a little shabby. It could use a little updating. It would also have been nice if the place had a hot tub. There was a thaw and freeze when we were there, so the roads were a little icy. We went out for lunches but stayed in for dinner. The location is close to excellent restaurants.

The gated deck was perfect to keep the dogs from roaming. 5 bedrooms and 4 baths was perfect for the 12 of us and the fireplace with the logs provided was a great touch. Only complaint may be that most of the toilets were tucked next to the sinks and a larger person couldn't access them well. Also the fold out couch in the basement was in need of repair. Overall though, home was clean and all that we needed was there. Would defiantly return.

Location, location, location! And dogs!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location was better than expected. Cherry Cove is a great fishing spot, amazing views, amazing yard that leads to the dock. Right between the Glendale and 219 bridge. Short boat drive to Brenda's and Traders Coffee, Arrowhead Market, High Mountain sports and Bill's boat rentals. Short drive to Wal-mart, and Smiley's (the activities place). Right next to the State Park that offers a beach, boat slips, trails, etc. Close to Swallow Falls and Herrington Manor for hiking and falls viewing, wildlife, etc. Roasted smores at the firepit while others fished and watched the sunset. The home needs some tlc, and redecorating,but I am assuming thats kinda a given when you consider its a property that allows pets. Adequate space for sleeping quarters and bathrooms. Main level bathrooms had been renovated so I opted to stay on the main level. I might suggest the possibility of adding a couple of in home amenities if possible, like maybe some tvs (I think the master bedroom was the only bedroom that had a tv and it was really small, but the basement and main level had a tv each), billiard, darts, something else to do in the evenings (although we did go to gokarts and stuff outside of the house). The wi-fi password written down was from several years ago, and the office didn't have an updated one. They sent someone out later that day who was very friendly and professional. There's no shortage of outdoor stuff to do in Deep Creek-kids had a blast getting towed around on the rafts. Lake trampolines were all rented out but would have been fun.

4 Days of Fun

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Have 8 friends that have been gathering on this same weekend every year for almost 20 years. This is our 2nd year staying at A golden Retreat and the house and property are perfect. We had 3 issues upon arriving, a tiolet not working and an empty Propane tank. Taylor Made had someone out within 20 minutes with a replacement propane tank and he fixed the toilet. The guy that came out was very friendly, talked to us for a couple minutes and had the job done in 5 minutes. I was thoroughly impressed! They also offer key less entry for this house so we never had to go to the rental office. Had an issue with the code but I called the office, they gave me a new code and we were in. The measure of a company is how they respond when you have problems. Taylor Made knows how to please there customers.

Had to vacuum excessive pet hair off of living room furniture and rug. Otherwise very enjoyable stay.
