Serenity on the Sound - Quiet Neighborhood - Water Views

Serenity is a home that provides beautiful views of the Albemarle sound in a private setting. The home is second row waterfront. Water access is directly in front of the home and there is a boat ramp in the neighborhood. The water is usually 4-5 feet deep, depending on the wind, and is a sandy bottom. Sit in a rocking chair and enjoy the views from the porch, walk to the water for a swim, or take a drive to several nearby towns including historical Edenton and the Outer Banks. This is the perfect home to relax.
Edenton – 15 minutes
Columbia – 15 minutes
Nags Head – 1 hour
Elizabeth City – 40 minutes

We do not allow pets in the house or on the property. We allow up to 8 people on the property but no more than 8, regardless of whether or not they're spending the night.

We recently stayed at Serenity on the Sound while visiting my parents’ home for my brother’s wedding, and it was absolutely lovely. The house is adorable and located on a very peaceful, quiet street with beautiful views and an amazing porch. The beds were comfortable, everything was spotless, and the shower had great water pressure with plenty of hot water.We usually stay at my parents’ house, but if we ever need another local rental—or just want a quiet weekend getaway—we would definitely return. I highly recommend this property and the host.

Wonderful Accommodations!

We booked our stay for July 31st - August 4th, 2025. My sister arrived early and asked the host if she could enter the property prior to regular check-in. The house was not locked as the host lives across the street, so check-in was a breeze. The host responded promptly with a "yes." The house was just as pictured online and was very clean. The kitchen was fully equipped with pots and pans, cooking utensils, glassware, plates, bowls, and silverware. There was plenty of toilet paper and paper towels. There was both a regular "Mr. Coffee" type coffee maker and a Keurig and supplies for both. There were also a few food items; staples such as flour, sugar, syrup, salt, pepper, and some other spices. The neighborhood was very quiet, and we had a beautiful view of the Ablemarle Sound. We really enjoyed sitting out on the front porch in the morning having coffee, and the evening having an adult beverage. There were minimal duties for checking out (take out trash, run dishwasher, put all dirty towels in bathroom), so it didn't take much time at all. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would definitely book again!

A great house with ample room for all

We stayed for 3 nights in December. There were 5 of us, adults and 3 older teen boys. We had plenty of room. The house was equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Kitchen utensils, cookware and dishes were abundant which has not always been our experience in other homes. The home and property are spacious and quiet, It was a nice experience.

Perfect weekend stay!

We were in town for the Christmas festivities in Edenton and this was the perfect place to stay! Close enough to town with a great view. Lots of beds and comfy hang out area. Will definitely look to stay here again in the future!

Lovely home

We really enjoyed staying in this beautiful home. It was very clean, well supplied, and a very quiet location with a water view. We were about 20 minutes from downtown Edenton.

Holiday Weekend Getaway

The listing does not do this place justice. The home was so much more than what we expected. The kitchen was the most well stocked of any vacation rental I've stayed in. We loved it so mych that were returning in November.

My family thoroughly enjoyed the property and the area. The home was beautiful and very spacious giving everyone the room they needed. The peacefulness was exactly what we were looking for on this vacation. I would recommend this property to any family looking for a quiet beautiful stay.

This residence was perfect

We frequently use VRBO to house our out of town crews for jobs all over the SouthEast. This property was clean, safe, well maintained and perfect for our crews. The Management was communicative and very pleasant to work with.

My husband was born and raised on the Albemarle sound. I moved here after I graduated from college and never left. We love this area. We love everything outdoors and we love the water.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

This house is very special. My mother always loved the water so my dad built this second home for her so she could sit in a rocking chair on the porch and enjoy the beautiful views of the Albemarle sound. The house was finished in January 2012 and sadly she passed away in July. My mom named the house Serenity. This was going to be her get away. Now it will be a get away for many to enjoy and she would love that!
