This is our second stay here this year and the place is everything and more than what it advertises to be. Brian is awesome Host and we absolutely love this place. If you have a chance to rent it, it’s worth every penny.

This property was just as promised! It was the perfect place for our girls weekend. We are already planning on rebooking for next year. The pool and game room will keep you entertained for your entire stay. We didn’t even get enough time to watch a movie in the theater but it is on the list for the next stay. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for large groups and the beds are super comfy! I can’t say enough about how easy Brian is to communicate with either. It feels very secluded even though it is close to Bloomington. You will enjoy your stay for sure!

Great space. Even better than described. There is 5 bedrooms rather than 4. Plenty of room. The game room is away from rest of house so able to sleep when others want to hang out.

This house is amazing! Cannot say enough about how perfect this place is for a family getaway. Lots of fun and thoughtful touches throughout. Having a private indoor pool is perfection! Add to that the hot tub, movie room and game room and it was a truly great getaway. The house lay out is unique and allowed our multiple families to have quiet space to ourselves as well as multiple spaces for group time. The game room is set apart from the bedrooms so the adults were able to stay up late and take advantage of the game tables, arcade game and karaoke setup without disturbing any sleeping kiddos. Brian was a great host and very responsive with any questions or needs.

Our two families of 10 came together and got to stay at this beautiful property. The house was very clean and Brian the Host is very accommodating with Hoosier Hospitality. It was a very hot weather week and the swimming pool and game room was just what the kids wanted. The location was very enjoyable with privacy and nice back yard setting.

This is an amazing property for a family. There were plenty of bedrooms and space to spread out so we weren't all on top of each other. It was especially great on those rainy days when we needed to stay in. I highly recommend this for a vacation stay. Close to IU and close to Brown County Indiana.

My wife and I have been traveling and staying in Vrbo’s for the last nine years and this is by far the best one we have ever stayed at. It was clean as a whistle and very comfortable temperature in every room. Brian Smoot is an amazing host because even when I accidentally pocket dialed him, he called me back to make sure I had everything that I needed. I would highly recommend this to anyone to stay at and we will definitely be coming back. If there was a 10 star rating, I would’ve given him a 10 star across the board.

Brian’s house was amazing! Super clean and loaded with great things to do and use. Only wish we could have spent a little more time at the house. Stayed for graduation weekend with another family. Plenty of space for us all with easy UBER access into Bloomington. Close to walking and bike trail too. Great for families of all ages!!

The host is very gracious and easy to contact if need be. The house is outstanding. Every year my brothers get together for a long weekend. This house is perfect. We did not need to go anywhere. Jump in the pool or hot tub then the sauna. Grill and make wonderful meals. Hangout in the 2 story game room. And everyone with a private bedroom and multiple bathrooms. Towels galore Everything you need is there. I’m from Bloomington, so I didn’t need to go out to the countless places this beautiful town has to offer. If you want to get out, this house may seem out of the way but it’s 10 minutes to IU We will be coming back Thank you, Brian!!

Very comfortable house. We were a group of ladies in town for a family event. We didn’t use the game room, theater room or pool but enjoyed the hot tub & large couch in the LR. The 4th BR is upstairs, away from the rest of the house & the 5th BR is in the lower level thru the theater room. A couple of us doubled up in the other 3 BRs to be closer together. Overall, very nice. Looks like the large pool & game room would be fun. Maybe next time.

Five of our female family members, spanning three generations, stayed here recently over Labor Day weekend. We loved each having our own room. The master bath is especially nice, with the multilevel showers and sprays. The shower/bath in the dormer bedroom is not ideal, unless you are happy to just take a bath. We enjoyed the hot tub and the beautiful outdoor area immensely. The pool area is grand, with the water temp kept at 86. The house was clean and well provisioned. We cooked many meals there and found everything we needed. We had plenty of bath and pool towels. Brian greeted us and welcomed us, showing us some of the things around the house. We enjoyed the game room adjacent to the pool area and the Home theater down in the basement. All in all, we had a wonderful stay. We would definitely do it again! Thank you.

The heated indoor pool was a hit, along with the hot tub.The dining room table was large enough for all of us. Kitchen was very well stocked with modern appliances. Plenty of bathrooms! Game room was awesome and a hit with everybody.

Family get away

Plenty of room for 9 of us. The indoor pool and game room were great. The game room being separated from the the bedrooms and other living space was good so the noise of karaoke did not disturb those watching tv. We were able to eat dinners together at the large table and play games. The hot tub and back porch area were very relaxing. We enjoyed the movie room the with protector screen was nice to wind down at night. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed here for several nights for a family getaway with kids and grandkids. Excellent experience! The house was clean and kitchen stocked with all the necessary items to prepare our meals. Lots of parking. The highlight was the pool for the grandkids along with the game room. The movie theater setup in the basement was wonderful. Brian was easy to work with. Easy access to Bloomington. Great property!

This place was perfect for our needs. We were celebrating my wifes 40th bday and had 5 IU alums in our group who wanted to spend time on campus. It is about 15 min away. The house has so much to do between the pool, hot tub, game rooms and movie theater! Theres also nice living areas and a patio to just sit and enjoy your company. Brian, the host, was also very great. The house, pool/hot tub, patio were clean and welcoming. Really no complaints. All of my guests were also impressed with the house and offered me many compliments for finding this .

Our stay at Brian's place was short but the property and all the amenities made it extra fun. We will definitely rent again, it is surrounded by beautiful trees and you can head all kind of birds. The pool being inside made it a lot better, property was so big and private.

Pitfalls and Highlights

WARNING: Anyone with small children, be sure pool is tested and shown to be at safe chlorine level before using. We enjoyed many features of this house but had a big problem with reactions to pool chemicals that were either too strong or not added far enough in advance of visit. All adults and children had respiratory irritation, watering eyes and sneezing in pool area, at first. Toddlers had coughing and wheezing for 24-48 hours after first swim. Reactions cleared up in 3-4 days, as chlorine dissipated. The owner tried to address, but was faced with his own medical issues and closed pool chemical suppliers. The hot tub was perfect. This property is under reconstruction, after damage from a fallen tree a few months ago. Very nice property owner is working hard to rebuild, but there were small unfinished items throughout and messy areas in side and back yards. Large front yard and patio area were very nice. Many excellent features include a wonderfully outfitted 2-story game room and movie room, gas grill and large, furnished patio, many bathrooms with excellent water pressure and hot water, 2 laundry areas, multiple large TV screens and luxury appliances in the kitchen (although the garbage disposall didn't work). So, if pool chlorine tests safe, this is a great place to stay right now if you are not fussy about some unfinished landscaping, woodwork, switchplates and the like, and promises to be excellent when all the work is done.

These accusations are false and saddening. Mary complained the moment she walked through the door about it being too cool although the temperature was set at 70. I showed her how to change it and then she had me change it back to where it was. We did a test on the water and even took it into our pool company where they did a test as well. The chlorine level was not high at all. She is correct that i has a medical issue the 3rd day of their stay, but i has a representative come to the house to hear their concerns and test the water again. I guess she was hoping for money back for bogus claims.
