Queen Charlotte Sound Holiday home

The stunning view looks straight down Queen Charlotte Sound to the north. The ample decks out the front and back of the house take advantage of the beautiful Marlborough sun. Bring your boat, we have a large boat park at the house and a 12m mooring and row boat that are available with the house. Explore the nearby bays in our kayaks and if you’re lucky you could see dolphins or orca.
Our large house is perfect for multiple families. Pets are welcome but we ask that they stay outside. Tui house is 30 minutes to Picton and 1.5 hours to Nelson.


NOTE:
1. Linen/towels are not automatically provided with your booking. It is available for hire at an additional cost of $30/per person. Alternatively, you can bring your own, please indicate when you book which option you'd like.
2. Cleaning is optional ($20 per person), please indicate when you book whether you'd like to clean it yourself before you leave, or if you'd like us to clean it for the fee indicated.
3. Pet are allowed on the property, but NOT inside the house.
4. Please do not use the fire, there is sufficient heating using the 2 heat pumps and oil heaters provided.

Property with stunning view

We really enjoyed the property, it's large and has stunning views and well kitted out for every eventuality. Our only issue was with Bookabach when we required a partial refund as we had less people stay than booked. It took weeks to sort out 3 phone calls to Bookabach which took over an hour and half on the phone.

Great for water sports

Great location to take advantage of the bay and the walking track. Beautiful views. Enjoyed use of kayaks and life jackets. Lots of stingrays hanging out under piers. No real amenities close by, garage selling basics 10mins away, havelock with 4 square 30mins away. We like our coffee and only 1 cafetière for a big group, so bring your own if that’s important to you. Lots of space to spread out in and worked really well for us as a multi-generational group.

Disappointed with false advertising of price

This property is in a great location and caters for large groups and I have no issues with the house and our stay there. However there is no advertisement that there are additional charges for every adult over 5 adults staying as an extra $50 per person per night. For a property that sleeps 12 this is a signaficant price increase that I was only notified of 4 weeks prior to arrival. I would advise anyone booking this to book for 5 people using each room. The cleaning cost was also per person per night not a standard fee. This seemed like a comple money gouge and we were to make up for lost earnings over the last couple of years. Left a very sour taste in the mouth. These charges were not advertised and can only hope they are now

Amazing view, becomes overpriced with all the fees

Agree with some other reviews that all the fees add up. I’ve never heard of being charged for sheets at a short term rental. We also had to take out our own trash (and pay to dispose it, half an hour away, which required coins, which we didn’t have) — even though the bins had a lot of trash in them when we arrived. Overall, it’s a good sized space and if it’s a large group of adults who can split the cost, it probably is worth it. The view is unbelievable! If you’re doing things in Picton, note that the road you take is really slow and winds, and has a lot of one lane portions because of road work, so it took us about 40 minutes. The section of the queen Charlotte track that’s just a few blocks away is gorgeous. We didn’t have a chance to take out kayaks, which is a great offering, but it’s a little hike down a road to put them in the water, so we probably wouldn’t have wanted to carry them. Unfortunately, the oven was broken during our stay, which we were informed of days ahead of time, but it made using the kitchen difficult (the point of having a rental house). Would have been nice to have been offered some sort of discount given this, especially as it was too late for us to find another booking.

Couldn’t have wished for better

Perfect family getaway with stunning views!

We had a family getaway and very much enjoyed the place. Great views from the deck, a cute garden, well-equipped kitchen and quick and easy communication with the host made the stay very enjoyable for everyone! We would definitely stay again :)

Amazing All-around Accom

This property was perfect for our group of 10 adults. It was spacious, comfortable and had complete amenities. We liked the layout of the place. We had the right amount of privacy yet had several common areas where all of us could gather together. Lastly, the place had the most amazing views!

Beautiful setting!!

This properting is stunning with views over the sounds and a lovely garden. The function of the house is perfect with plenty of space and facilities. The host was great with communicating with us. The only downfall is we had to come home!

Fantastic house

House was beautiful and kitchen very well equip. Great communication with owner. Had a mini break with friends and was excellet for socialising. And the layout of the house also offer enough space so no one feels crowed.

Gorgeous House with an Amazing View

The house was perfect, exactly as pictured and very tidy. It slept 12 people very comfortably and could have even had room for more as one of the couches was a pull out. Nice big common areas and the view from the patio was stunning. Perfect place to have your coffee on the morning and your wine at night. We had a fantastic time and would absolutely book again!
