Gone Surfin is located on a highest point on the Great Ocean Road between Lavers Hill and Yuulong. It is a center of Otways, ideal to relax and explore the region, but being in total seclusion on over 2 acres of manicured lawns and gardens with magnificent views of Bass Strait, Johanna Beach and across the Otway Ranges.

The house consists of large open plan living area with fire place, fully equipped kitchen and separate dining room.
Gone Surfin’ is also a testament to the owners collection of beautiful artwork and furnishings which complement the surroundings.
Cook up a feast in the very well equipped kitchen, or enjoy a BBQ out on one of the three decks. Creating an amazing ambiance, around the statement central fireplace is the ideal place to be in the depths of Winter. You could simply cocoon here all weekend on the couch, enjoying the full Foxtel package of movies and sports channels available.

The house provides 3 bedrooms and the creature comforts of electric blankets and bedroom heaters for the winter and reverse cycle air-conditioning to keep you cool throughout in the warmer months. There is one central bathroom, and a separate laundry.

Must See: Melba Gully, featuring enchanting glow worms at night time - 1 km, The 12 Apostles - 30 km, Otway Fly Treetop Walk - 20 km, Cape Otway Light Station- 33 km, Johanna Beach - 15 km, Milanesia Beach - 9 km, plus various walks (Great Ocean Walk) & waterfalls are all within close proximity - 5-20 km. Apollo Bay - 49 km, Port Campbell - 40 km to name a few.

Beautiful place in the country set amongst the Otway Mountains and overlooking the sea. Right on the Great Ocean Road about halfway between Apollo Bay and the 12 Apostles. Very comfortable.

Scenic and Wonderful

A clean and very comfortable home with excellent facilities. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with an excellent coffee machine which was a welcomed bonus. The fireplace was beautiful and worked well with plenty of firewoodThe outlook had wonderful views of green paddocks and the ocean. We would stay again.

Great getaway

Enjoyed the property and all the small details that made the stay feel like home away from home. Excellent supplies in the kitchen. Enjoyed the dog run and appreciated the mowed grass to make it usable. Wish we had a longer stay!

Wow what a view!

Nice house with a well equipped kitchen. The main bedroom needs the air con to be working in our opinion. We found the TV a bit far from the sofa but we certainly enjoyed having Foxtel! The birdlife here is absolutely spectacular!

Magnificent views

We loved staying at Gone Surfin' - the views are amazing, the decks lovely places to relax & unwind in nature/soak up some sun and lots of space for the dog to explore and sniff. Also lots of things to do nearby which helps with teens. We will come back. 😊

Lovely Lavers Hill getaway

Just perfect! We’ll appointed and very comfortable house with a beautiful view! This house was perfect for us and a lovely place to take our friend from England to enjoy some of the local natural attractions. We really enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return!

Amazing view, cosy wood fire

Our family (5 people over 3 generations) had a relaxed and comfortable stay in this lovely property. On the plus side: the gardens are extensive, great for kids and dogs to roam in. The kitchen is well set up with a good coffee machine and everything you need to make your own meals. Great fireplace in the centre of the main living area - we had three fires even in the middle of Summer (the evenings can get cool.) And the view is the best of all - a sweeping vista down to the sea that's always slowly changing. We saw beautiful clear blue skies and seas on some days, and also misty mornings where visibility was down to 200m or so. Things to consider: there's only one bathroom and toilet - we made this work but occasionally there was a bit of a queue, eg for bed preparations. And also, we found the seating arrangements slightly odd - the sofa's in an awkward place to comfortable watch the (very big) TV - so we ended up moving chairs in front of the TV to watch the Australian Open. And while the view's fabulous, there aren't many places to comfortably enjoy it from (a hedge grows along most of the front balcony at about chest height). From inside the house, you need to be standing at one of the windows to see the view, which felt like a waste/pity. These quibbles aside, we had a great stay and enjoyed the easy access to Melba Falls (just around the corner).

Beautiful vista of nature and wildlife

We loved the central location to explore the Great Ocean Road. Being in the hills was nice. Please note that the closest town is small with one general store with coffee shop and one nice restaurant. So planning most meals while driving is best for this location. House was roomy.

We had a very different Xmas this year and it was lovely . Relaxing and all we could hear were the bit. Apart from food which we bought in Colac there was everything we needed there Gone Surfing is a wonderful place to relax

Family holiday

We loved the property. The views were amazing. It is a bit of a distance for groceries and premium unleaded petrol so good to come prepared. Lots if things to do in the area. Overall loved it.

Peaceful location

A peaceful location. The Ottways turned on the winter weather & the fire was very welcome. Close to fabulous waterfalls & Ottway rainforest drives. A little drive from the surf coast, but not a hardship considering that gorgeous stretch of coast. Was very hard to find the driveway at night & dangerous trying to turn right back onto GOR - its safer to go left & turn around. I also found it hard to dry the familys clothes after hard muddy days of hiking as there was no dryer ... A comfortable stay, well provisioned.

Our son Bart brought us here to see him surfing. And the rest is a history... We never thought that the people would be so amazing in welcoming us here... Just wonderful part of Australia...

The House and the property is so easy to love. Very comfortable and enjoyable, especially now when seclusion is preferable and desirable. The alone walks along Great Ocean Walk are amazing and wildlife/visitors such as Kangaroos and lots lots of Birds! Beautiful all kinds of Birds. The kids will enjoy a huge garden. Pets also are most welcome!
