Where will I be?

Mermaid Cottage is on a corner block in a quiet pocket of Hyams. It is located 100 metres from Little Hyams Beach and an easy five minute walk to the Hyams Beach Cafe.

Why choose Mermaid Cottage?

This weatherboard cottage is charming with modern features and plenty of light. It has an open plan dining and kitchen with plenty of room to entertain. The wrap around verandah is perfect for sitting back with a book, watching the bird life and enjoying the day. Its proximity to the beach is unbeatable.

How is the property laid out?

Mermaid Cottage has three bedrooms; two large dormer style rooms upstairs, one large queen bedroom with walk in robe and another generous bedroom with two king single beds. Downstairs is another queen bedroom with built in robe. It has a fully equipped kitchen andEuropean laundry with washer and dryer. Downstairs has a separate lounge, open plan dining and kitchen area and a modern bathroom with a shower / bath. The verandah wraps around three quarters of the house giving you plenty of room to relax, no matter what the weather.

WiFi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV - will I have it?

Mermaid Cottage provides free WiFi for all guests. The password is provided on arrival. you may use it with no guarantee of reliability or bandwidth by us or the owner. If you bring an internet dongle with you, the best network is generally Telstra. Otherwise, use your smart phone only during your stay or find a local cafe or library that offers free wifi. If internet access is critical during you stay, please make sure that you have a Plan B!

What about outdoors?

Mermaid Cottage has a lovely garden with lawn for the children to play on. It has a three quarter length wrap around verandah which is great for relaxing or entertaining. There is a gas BBQ on the back deck.

Staying warm or keeping cool?

Mermaid Cottage provides reverse cycle air conditioning in the main bedroom upstairs and in the living areas downstairs including the lounge, kitchen and dining rooms. Other bedrooms have fans for cooling and heaters for the winter months but also benefit from the air conditioning.

What about sheets, towels and other supplies?

Linen and bath towels are supplied at Mermaid Cottage. Please remember to bring your own favourite beach towels!

Parking for cars, boats etc?

There is off street parking for two cars and additional on-street parking.

Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?

Mermaid Cottage is not pet friendly. Please contact us for a list of our many other pet-friendly options!

What are the minimum stay rules?

- Summer Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights

Are there any special Summer Season rules?

Please note that during Summer Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.
