Check in was at 4:00 o’clock and they make wait till 7:00 o’clock. House was nasty.

It’s not the owner fault it’s the property managers cleaning company who cause the situation of waiting 3 hours for checking and the house wasn’t that clean.

We are sorry to hear that you did not have the five-star stay we endeavor to provide our guests. We value the condition and cleanliness of the home but apologize that it was not prepared at the time of your check-in. The whole area was impacted by the bad weather and caused a delay for the cleaning company to service the home. The cleaners made me aware of the issue and asked me to relay the offer that they are willing to pay for your dinner that night but we never received a response. Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We do all we can to make the best possible experience, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

Need a few days to recoup from our stay...we could not get a good night's sleep.

The cabin was as described...clean enough and had incredible views ,but the mattresses need replacing. The bed in the loft is tilted...head lower than the feet. The mattress is collapsed in the center causing you to fall into each other. The bed in the basement is rock hard. They state the internet is intermittent, but it is completely useless because the coaxial cable from the satellite dish is damaged...2 mb download speed max if it works at all. The outdoor furniture has loose screws and felt very unstable. The road to the cabin is a single lane road. The drive Y's off from the road as you approach the house. The drive is large enough to turn around, but they have a sign stating turning around in the drive is not allowed. If you dont turn around in the drive, you are forced to back into the road facing the wrong direction. Your only option is to turn around in the neighbor's drive. They even go as far as to have a sign that says you are not allowed to turn around in their drives. If you follow their instructions you would be forced to back down the mountain road.

Great property

Overall, we loved the place! Beautiful views and nice to have plenty of bathrooms! The lower level bed had a broken box springs. The Wi-Fi was weak but the views made up for it. Make sure you have your gps set up before you get close because cell service is challenged. Love the place!

Nice property but the Owners need to know that the cleaning company lacks in a few areas. The house was set on 80 degrees and it took 6 hours to get down to 68 degrees. The filter in the main level return was filthy and full of dust. So that is probable part of the A/C problem. The grill was nasty and needs grill cleaning utensils. Hardly any towels or wash clothes.The pillows on the couch had a lot of hair on them. I never contacted the property manager and only gave 1 star cause the property manager needs to go through and inspect property.

Wonderful cabin with amazing view

The cabin was as described. The view is glorious. The kitchen is now well stocked with equipment but would benefit from having an electric kettle. This is the perfect get-away. For future guests just be aware that the internet is not strong, the gas fireplace is not operational and there is a warning to not drive down the mountain in snow and ice unless you have an appropriate vehicle. These things aside, we had a wonderful stay and will come again.

Sadly, we were disappointed by our experience in this cabin. We arrived late (past 10 pm ) on Sunday evening and there was no information on how to connect to the wifi, how to get the gas fire place burning etc. so we had to contact the house manager which made us feel uncomfortable (as it was late on a Sunday evening). I then went to make a snack for my husband (wanting to warm up some soup) and was shocked to find that other than a croque pot, THERE ARE NO POTS! Not a single one. My Valentine's gift to my husband was going to be some elaborate home made meals so that whole plan dissipated in that moment. And the frying pans that are there are very very old, scratched and barely usable. This is a semi-functioning kitchen at best. There is an oven but no oven mittens, no tin foil to cover a dish with, not even a simple sponge to wash a dish with. And yes, there is a Keurig coffee machine but no coffee... The reason that we booked this cabin was mainly because it has a gas fire place and we wanted to have some romantic evenings in front of the fire. It doesn't say however that the gas fire place would be on for 2 minutes and then go off for 4-5 minutes (literally). This does not create ambiance... just irritation. We were very disappointed. What we did love was how the light pours into the cabin in the mornings and the breath taking views. We spent most of our time outside watching the beauty which was nice. It was the evenings that were a disappointment due to not being able to cook what we wanted and the ridiculous setting on the gas fire place. We won't be coming back here as there are many gorgeous cabins to choose from in Murphy that are more guest friendly.

Views for days!!!

We brought our family for a week getaway and this beautiful home provided everything we were looking for and so much more! The drive up was a bit scary the first time but after that we looked forward to the challenge of it. The views from the porch sitting on the summit took our breath away and the silence at night is so tranquil.. We’re looking forward to coming back next year! Ken was amazing at answering all of questions.

Beautiful Views, Beware of Location

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend as one final trip before our son was born. The cabin was very beautiful, as were the views. The only thing to point out about this cabin is where it is located. This cabin is located in the "back-woods" of North Carolina in every sense of the term. Thus, a very high percentage of homes near this property (including the direct neighbors) proudly fly confederate flags. Though my wife (who is Black) and I did not run into any problems, this is simply something that cannot be overlooked. Potential future renters need to understand exactly what type of area they are going to be in if they rent this cabin.

Great Place to Relax

This is a terrific house, beautifully constructed and nicely furnished, with great views from the deck. We really enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it to others. It's a bit of a drive to the nearest town, which was not a problem, as the drive is through beautiful countryside. But as a previous reviewer said, print directions, as there may be no cell phone/mapping access. Our plan was to go for long hikes all day, come back, make a simple dinner and have a couple of bottles of wine. We found the kitchen wanting. Most of the pots/pans are in terrible shape (scratched/peeling teflon) and some of the cooking utensils had not been washed well. Other than that, the place was terrific.

Quiet and calm

The property is large and quiet. Great place to get away and unplug. The beds and furniture are very comfortable. Some kind advise - be careful when relying on cell phone GPS and Waze directions getting to the property. Cell phone service is not available around the roads leading up to the house. If a wrong turn is made, the phone will not be able to reroute via the internet. It is best to download Google map area to your phone prior to driving in the area or use a GPS device that has the map stored on it. Overall, this is a really nice property if looking to “get away”.

Girls Trip

Went on a girls trip and we had an amazing time. Plenty of room and beautiful views. Only complaint is that the remote didn’t work in the living room. Beautiful sunsets and peaceful area.

Amazing view at the top!

First time for our family to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Everyone absolutely loved it. Plenty of room for a large group. The home is very nice and has pretty much everything you’ll need. We will definitely be back!
