Make your memories at Sunsets & Sand Dollars! Located on the 3rd floor, The sunsets over the bay from the large back balcony are absolutely breathtaking! The back balcony has plenty of outdoor furniture to relax on. Gulf Views from the front balcony!

This is a 3 Bedroom/3 Bathroom Condo - Sleeps 10 . This condo is on the Bay-side of Pointe West right on the lazy river pool which is heated during the winter.

- Birders, relax on the large private balcony and watch Roseate Spoonbills, Egrets, and Herons in their wetlands natural habitat
- Fisherman, the bay is only 12-18 inches deep- you can wade right out close to the condo
- Couples, enjoy the privacy of your own rooms to retire to at night after a day of enjoying the community together
- Families, let the little ones play on the splash pads or float them along on the lazy river. There are weekend crafts and activities for the kiddos as well.
- Winter Texans, this can be your piece of paradise for an escape to tranquility and peace.

Pointe West Beach Club
Spend a wonderful day at the pool or beach at the luxurious Pointe West Beach Club. Pointe West offers numerous amenities including, an infinity pool, children’s pool, lazy river (will be heated in the Fall of 2021), fitness center, gift shop, and restaurant. The Resort is independently run and charges $25 per person, (3 years or older) beginning March 1, 2021, year-round. The use of the Beach Club is optional. The access fee is paid by credit card or cash directly to the Beach Club and is not included in rental rates.

The community is easily walkable. Golf Carts are a great way to get around as well. However, golf carts dune buggies or any other types are vehicles are not allowed on Galveston beaches, dunes, or wetlands; this is city law!

Spring Break

We had a wonderful time at this clean and comfortable condo. It was spacious and our group of 7 had plenty of room. The location was fantastic for a laid back and relaxing stay. We loved the amenities at the beach club! The two pools were great and the HEATED lazy river pool just steps away was a highlight for the kids! We hope to return again someday!

Great Place...Killer Mosquitoes

We had a lovely stay and the condo is gorgeous with a fabulous balcony and sunset view that we were super excited to take advantage of, but the mosquitoes were so bad that we could not go outside unless we were completely submerged in the pool. The only downside of the review has nothing to do with the condo itself. It had all the amenities and was absolutely adorable. They did warn us to bring bug spray, but these bugs are immune! The spray containing DEET worked a little bit, but we had to "run the gauntlet" from car to condo every time we left. Could not even take the elevator because we were trapped inside with so many bugs...which meant a lot of running up and down 3 flights of stairs. I hate to leave less than 5 stars, because I know it is not the property itself that was the problem, but I want to make sure future guests are aware and prepared for it. We were sad to not be able to sit outside and enjoy the great balcony. Oh, and I don't know much about the timing of tides/beach debris...but the beach itself was so covered in debris that we could not find a spot to even lay a blanket. For a private beach, I would have expected that stuff to be raked away.

Wonderful and beautiful Place

We recommend this apartment for anybody who wants to enjoy the beach and the gorgeous sunset in Galveston. The apartment is well equipped, very clean y cozy. The beds are confortable and the balcony furniture is super cute. We definitely will come back soon!

Pointe West is Our New Favorite Spot

We loved the condo, especially the privacy of the master suite. Appliances were top notch, the only thing that didn’t work was the ice maker but we purchased ice from a local store. This unit was immaculate and very comfortable.

My family and I have been going to Point West for over 10 years now. We have stayed in beachfront condos as well as the bayside. Unfortunately, this condo was not up to our standards. It was dirty…from the pots, pans, cutlery, showers, bedding. The blinds throughout the condo could were broken which made it tough to open them and see the bay or the beach. Our favorite part was the back patio. Please note that that there is not a glass top on the coffee table and it was not stable enough for drinks. We did appreciate being able to check-in early and check-out late due to it being the off season.

Lisa was a problem guest despite our efforts to address her concerns. We keep our condo very clean and up to date. We offer and unbeatable price for the value and views. If any guest reports any problem we address it right away. We allow our guests the convenience of early check-in/ Late check-out out of kindness, not because of “off season”

Summer 2023

The location is far from any of the main Galveston attractions and restaurants so that is challenge. However once you are there, it is right next to the lazy river which the kids loved. One of my kids also loved the bunk beds. The place was nice and clean, but it seems the rentals are taken its toll on the place. One of the kitchen cabinets was not closing correctly, the refrigerator door seemed that it could break at any point, the light in the main room will flash every five minutes. The AC in the main room was not designed right. It was hot compared to the other rooms. Also, there is a broken spindle in the balcony which is a safety hazard if you have kids specially being in the third floor. We had to blocked that section to prevent the kids from getting there. Overall, we enjoyed the visit, but it sure can use improvements to make our stay better.

Overall it was a good stay. This was the first time for our families to gather at the west end of the island for vacay. The place and location of unit is nice next to lazy river pool area and good bay side views. Our unit had the best patio/balcony furnishings! Have to cart or drive to main club as is a long hike. The store owner at club is supper awesome and makes good items! The not so good was the managing of the condo. They do not keep up with some maintenance items and 3 we’re security and safety hazard issues for renters. Two were addressed, but fire hazard from dryer vent was not that had not been cleaned out and set off alarm. They were informed of all 3 safety issues. Thank goodness that most was ok in condo; however, I don’t know how they “were not aware” of issues as they threaten you to take pics and notify them upon arrival of any issues. Also they apparently can’t follow their own instructions with written requests as documented for late check-out. The cleaning staff is rude and basically so is the management company. I paid money and followed all emails that had been sent. It made for a more stressful experience than necessary. Sad that owner may not be aware of the management company shortcomings. Overall it’s a good value for the money.

Gorgeous views, well stocked condo, better like stairs!

This was a wonderful getaway and the condo is tucked away at the west end of Galveston with gorgeous views of the bay and a huge patio to enjoy the sunsets. It is well equipped and had everything we needed in the kitchen (pots, pans, etc). Plenty of room and the AC works very well (very important during Galveston summers)! One key thing to note about this condo however -- if you have anyone with mobility issues (small kids, pets, older family members) you should probably consider a different location. This condo is on the top floor (3 flights of stairs from parking) and other than the morning we moved in, the elevator did not work during our stay. Seems to be a recurring issue at this location based on other reviews. This created a hardship for our older dog and made move out slow, sweaty, and difficult. We called in the issue the morning of our first full day on the island but the elevator still wasn't operating properly on our final day. This isn't the property management or owner issue -- this is West Pointe resorts management issue that is creating difficulty for the owners and occupants of this building. Elevator aside we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and the short walk to the lazy river/pool!

Disappointing and will not rent from Coastal Wave Vacation again.

The property management company Coastal Waves was not forthcoming about the closure of the Pointe West amenities which we depend on. The restaurant and bar were closed and had been closed for months due to freeze damage and they didn’t tell us. The location of pointe west is 20 miles from a major grocery store. The property had no hand soap and post COVID is not acceptable due to safety and health concerns. Short term rentals must supply the basics to guest especially from a safety and health perspective. The information Coastal Waves sent us about the properties parking was inaccurate and inconvenienced us during the trip. The owner parked their ATV in the garage space where we were to park and we were forded to park elsewhere. Coastal Waves emails contained inaccurate information about the property as the band fee required to access the pools and gym increased from 15 to 25 usd and we were not informed ahead of time. The communications from coastal waves for vital information was received too late to cancel our trip. The door code to access the property was not working upon arrival. Checkin was not easy and seamless. There are other property issues like the flickering lights in the master and the thermostat were not able to maintain a comfortable temperature during the stay. Some dishes were unclean and they didn’t provide any dish soap or dishwasher soap for a 4 night stay, 2 pods is not enough when there was no way to wash dishes by hand.

Great condo - Confirm the Elevator before Booking!

We enjoyed our stay at this condo overall. The unit itself was very comfortable, the location is convenient to the pool, and the community has a peaceful, family-oriented feel that we appreciated. Everything was comfortable and accessible and the views were incredible. The only issue was the elevator, which was out of service for the first two days of our stay. This unit is effectively on the fourth floor, and my parents are elderly. We were barely able to get my mother up to the condo, and she was essentially stuck there for two days. We called maintenance several times and never got a clear answer on when it would be fixed — only that the elevator is scheduled for replacement next year. That's good news long term, but it didn't help our trip. To their credit, they did get the part in and repaired it, and after that we were able to enjoy the amenities and the beach. I understand this is the HOA that is responsible for maintenance here, hopefully this review will help the condo owner motivate the HOA. If you're traveling with anyone who has mobility limitations, I'd confirm the elevator status before you book. Otherwise, it's a fantastic place to stay with incredible views. We plan on coming back next year after confirming the status of the elevator.

Overall this condo was perfect for 7 guests. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay in this condo again. Kitchen was very well equipped and appreciated the fact that condiment and spices were included. Plenty of towels, etc for everyone. Beds were very comfortable. We enjoy staying on the west end and only went into town once. Only problem we encountered was that the elevator went out which we reported. Having stayed at many condos at Pointe West we were aware of these issues.

We stayed here during the first week of June. The condo is spacious and laid out well, especially to accommodate a family of 7. The views of the bay were amazing from the big porch/patio. TVs in all rooms and the kitchen was adequately stocked. We were especially pleased to see that the cupboard had all the essential spices, oil, charcoal etc. saved us there. Access to the beach club was pivotal in our decision to stay here and it did not disappoint. You can’t beat the price for a 3 bed/bath close to the beach in west Galveston! Two things of note:- the mosquitoes are real. Read the posts, bring multiple cans of OFF and bring a tube or two of after bite. You’ll need it and will be thankful you had it on hand. Serious post. - use Instacart to get fresh groceries delivered if you don’t bring your own. The closest store is 12 minutes away and is way overpriced for what they offer (not much). We learned the hard way up front but used Kroger delivery the rest of the way.

Beautiful Bay Property

The property was very spacious, clean and had all the amenities for a nice weekend stay. The large patio facing the bay was a great spot to relax and watch the sun set.

The main reason for choosing this condo was its location and the balcony. Overlooks the family pool.

The condo was as advertised. Ample space for my family and me. Pretty much everything that you need was provided. However, the stay was tarnished when we were contacted the day before our checkout and was asked to not use the shower in the main bedroom due to a reported leak from the condo directly below. Of course we honored the request, but it was an inconvenience not being able to use the main shower. Regardless, neither the owner nor Coastal Waves offered any compensation for the inconvenience. Obviously it’s unfortunate that there was a plumbing issue, but that’s part of ownership, and honestly some form of compensation .. anything .. should have been offered without asking or hesitation. Additionally, a pillow was left behind that had sentimental value. I contacted Coastal Waves just hours after the cleaning crew probably left, but somehow the pillow just vanished and again, it just felt like they really weren’t that concerned or anxious to do whatever it took to locate the pillow. It is a shame because with exception to numerous broken/inoperable blinds, the condo really is nice. The Pointe West Resort offers pools, hot tubs, lazy river, cabanas, fitness center, grills, restaurant & bar with poolside service, game room, gift shop, etc.

Spend a wonderful day at the pool or beach at the luxurious Pointe West Beach Club. Pointe West offers numerous amenities including, an infinity pool, children’s pool, lazy river, fitness center, gift shop, and restaurant. The Resort is independently run and charges $25 per person year-round for everyone 4 years and older. Use of the Beach Club is optional. The access fee is paid by credit card or cash directly to the Beach Club and is not included in rental rates.
