Welcome to the Seanery Cottages Bunkie — a cozy, romantic, and fully updated bachelor-style guesthouse located on a quiet gravel road with stunning views of St. Margaret’s Bay. Perfect for a peaceful escape, this charming cottage offers everything you need to relax, recharge, and enjoy the beauty of Nova Scotia’s South Shore.

Inside, you'll find a newly renovated space with a comfortable queen-sized bed, a fully stocked kitchenette (including a full-sized stove and oven, fridge with freezer, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, and blender), and a new 3-piece bathroom with a stand-up shower. Enjoy modern conveniences like propane heat, high-speed WiFi, and a Smart TV for cozy nights in. Linens, towels, and a starter supply of paper products and dish soap are also provided for your comfort.

Step outside to take in the fresh sea air and panoramic ocean views from the deck—ideal for morning coffee or evening wine. The Bunkie sits on a spacious, beautifully landscaped yard (shared with the main house), surrounded by greenery and directly across the road from the ocean. You’re just 1 km from a quiet local beach, 5 km to golf, and a short drive to several more gorgeous beaches, boutique shops, restaurants, cafés, and the famous Hubbards Farmers’ Market. Conveniently located 40 minutes from Halifax, 20 minutes from Chester, and 35 minutes from Mahone Bay, this peaceful retreat is the perfect base for exploring the South Shore.

Excellent ocean view stay!

We had a great time at Suzanne’s property- we loved having the front deck overlook the ocean. The property was small but exactly what we needed! The cottage was clean and located on a quiet street. It was close to Hubbards that had lots of amenities and best of all, the Hubbards Farmer’s market!

The location is perfect! To the west is Lunenburg and many beaches. To the east is Peggy’s Cove. The drives both ways are stunning. The bunkie is incredibly cozy. There is everything you need packed into the space. Very well decorated with serene colours of grays and blues. The view is brilliant from 3 very large windows. It makes you feel like you are outside but are warm and cozy inside!

cozy and excellent location

loved every min of the stay we stayed a week and it was easy to get to places from the cabin and when at the cabin it was so relaxing.. some of the best sun rises I have seen in a long time. my only disappointment was no water life.. lol.. thats on mother nature not the owners Just the perfect size for two people thank you for opening your cabin to us.

Cozy Bungalow

A clean and welcoming little, cottage, with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. Lots of little details that make it special. “Seanery Bunkie” is close to some good restaurants and accessible to surrounding attractions. Suzanne was a super hostess!

The bunkie was a cozy, private getaway for my wife & I. We appreciate the efforts made by the hosts Suzanne, Tim and family to allow us to check in early. It was fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We loved the privacy provided us as we sat on the deck looking at the view of the water and enjoying the fire pit. We will not hesitate to recommend that others stay in the bunkie.

Lovely place, well equipped and very cozy … expect everything you need. Also expect a dirt road between the cabin and water with some vehicle and pedestrian traffic . Also a tiny bathroom which might be a challenge for older people. We are mid to late 70s and still made it work. Buy really we loved the place! The owner was VERY communicative and it was so clean.. we loved seeing the view of the bay off back porch and watching the comorants (spelling?) every day. Coffee maker was confusing so we bought instant. Would have appreciated a drip maker ..location is close to many exciting places we had never seen before. The picture is out the back window, looking at bay across the road i mentioned . We will be back.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Bunkie. The cottage had everything we needed (full bathroom, kitchen, air conditioning) and was the perfect home base for our first trip to the East coast.The cottage was comfortable and thoughtfully set up, with many perfect details down to eye masks and ear plugs on the bedside tables.Suzanne was a fabulous host. She offered to lend us a pack and play for our little one (this was much appreciated as we already had a lot of luggage!) and it was already set up when we arrived. She was very responsive before and during our trip when we had any questions, and made us feel well looked after. The Bunkie’s view is incredible, and we loved watching the sunrise over the bay in the mornings. We have absolutely no complaints about our stay the the Bunkie. I have seen some reviewers complain about it being small - we felt it was the perfect size for the 2 of us plan our almost 4 month old. We are already talking about going back to the east coast, and would absolutely love to stay at the Bunkie again!

Comfortable Bungalow

Check for the sign!

This property is ideal for a relaxing break. Ocean view is wonderful. The bunkie is compact but with everything you need. Very comfortable bed. I did miss the entrance off the main road a couple of times but once I realized this really was the entranceway all was good. I would definitely go back and recommend to anyone wanting to find tranquility for any period of time.

Exactly what we wanted

Requests : A bit of privacy : Ocean Front : A little off the beaten path : Easy access to EVERYWHERE : A white sided dolphin feeding frenzy in the ocean directly in front of our little cabin (a cabin which was complete with everything and was hip, cool and groovy). OK , I admit I had not requested the feeding frenzy, but......WOW ! The sea boiling with fish and dolphins . A cute quaint place to stay. At low tide there are beaches every100 metres for 100 MILES . Pick one. Enjoy . Repeat as neccessary. Thank you , Suzanne, well done !

Best view from bed on our entire trip around NS, Cape Breton and PEI

Lovely quiet area of cove, nice bottle of chilled Annapolis Valley wine waiting for us in fridge, nice treat, thank you Suzanne! Had a lovely walk along the road and wharf in the morning meeting friendly and informative neighbours. Lovely property and road with wild flowers. Very comfortable bed. We are sorry that our plane was cancelled so was only able to enjoy one night at the cute Bunkie. Had a great breakfast at The Trellis cafe just down the road.

Lovely little property

Cute and cozy, had everything we needed and then some. Very well equipped cottage. Awesome view! Amazing location. The only thing I would change is the mattress on the bed, too hard for our liking. Sun rises are fantastic be sure to wake up for it! We watched seals play in the water and searched for sea glass on the shore. Very peaceful and relaxing stay.

Ocean View

The place is a quant little place, perfect for an individual or couple. It is fabulous being able to lay in bed, watch one of the hundreds of tv options, and watch the beautiful sunset. This place is not far from a lot of tourist spots if that is what you are looking for. Would go back again.
