In the summer head outside onto the sundeck where you'll be able to fire up the BBQ for a full-flavoured classic meal; a Kiwi must-have. Catch some sun while you lie out on a bean bag looking across to the water. There is even a handy cricket set to make use of when you head over the road to the beach.

When you get home off the beach, the outdoor shower is a welcome amenity to help you rinse the last bits of sand off the feet before you head indoors.

The local swimming and snorkelling beach is within walking distance or Whale Watch Kaikōura and the Kaikōura Peninsula Walkway are also just a few minutes walk away.

It's only a short five-minute drive to the centre of Kaikoura with all its cafes, restaurants and shops. Be sure to get out onto 'Tom's Track', a great 20-minute walk over the hill into Kaikoura with spectacular views well worth viewing.
