Relaxing beach getaway

We loved our stay. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean when we arrived, and the cart to take to the beach was a great addition. It was just a one block walk to enjoy the beach! We’ve stayed in several vrbo’s and this was one of our favorites!

What a getaway!

Port St Joe was truly a great getaway place! The Shipwreck Raw Bar was a wonderful place to eat for breakfast and dinner. The property was clean and in great shape. Having the beach cart was nice!

Beautiful location! Close to the beach!

Amazing property! Very spacious! The decks are huge. Tvs in each bedroom and living room. Private bathrooms for 2 bedrooms and a third bathroom. I highly recommend this property!

If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay this is the place. Easy to find being behind the Shipwreck Raw bar. I was skeptical at first being behind the Bar but never had a noise problem. Had a problem with the internet and spoke to the property manager. She was very friendly and helpful.

Debbie, I am sorry to hear about your experience at our house. I interviewed the property manager about your stay from beginning to end. She helped you with door codes when you first got there. You had been there a while and she asked you if you saw anything wrong with the house. You replied the house was fine. She told you to call her immediately if you were having any issues. She was aware the previous guest broke one of the bunk bed ladders, but there was nothing she could do about that immediately. There was one ladder still in the room. In addition, my check-in email states that you should call the property manager immediately if you see any issue. The property manager is also the head cleaner. She had personally cleaned that house before you arrived. I know from experience exactly how good of a cleaner she is (spoiler alert-excellent!). If there was an issue with the house, you did not point that out to anyone while you were there. This is the first negative comment we are seeing from you. I would ask any other potential guest to look at he body of the reviews before making a decision on this house. This house is a gem, and I am sorry that we were not given a chance to correct your issues. All anybody has to do at our beach houses is speak up and we promise we are on it! Chris and Lasinda

Lied to by manager

The biggest problem with the property was that I read in a review that the location had roaches. I emailed them and they responded that the person that posted that just wanted their money back. We saw 4 roaches while there so that was the first thing. The other problem was the place needs a complete update. Furniture is old and not comfortable. The main level of the house you can barely see the ocean bc of the next lot needing to be cut so there's no view from there. The sliding glass doors barely slide, very annoying. The floor is about to cave in at one of the side doors. It just needs a lot of updating. I recommend a different location for sure. And no I didn't call anyone about it bc there's nothing they could've done while we were staying there.

Ronda, I am sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. I did want to respond to each of your items. 1. I do have quarterly pest control at this house. In addition, the pest control service will come out immediately if you let us know you see pest. It is Florida and it's tough to keep every bug out. A service will get rid of any pest immediately and we would have gladly taken care of it with a call. 2. Every bit of furniture in that house was installed in May of 2021. All of it was new furniture when it was installed. I disagree with the old furniture statement. 3. I cannot find any sinking in the flooring at any door. 4. I cannot control how the neighbor cut's his yard, but the view still looked fine when I checked it this week. 5. The main sliding glass door is tough to open. I have new rollers scheduled to be installed within two weeks of this review. Again, sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. I would never lie to anyone. My wife and I are local to the area and we take pride in the condition of this beach house. I will take your information and try to improve the house further. thanks, Chris

This was great! We spent a few days here for spring break and enjoyed the space a lot, it’s basically as close to the beach as you can get without being actually on it, it was a 1-2 minute walk. Communication was wonderful with the owners and property manager and a good location to be able to do little day trips!

Fall beach trip

Great vacation. Hosts were very kind. Hurricane Ian was passing through during our stay. Hosts offered to refund us for any nights we missed. God was good to bless us with great weather. Enjoyed our entire trip. House was spacious and roomy. Great view of the ocean on the top floor.

Family Spring Break

First time to this area. House was very nice, clean and spacious. Great location. Great views of the gulf from both balconies. Enjoyed walking to Shipwreck. Easy walk to the beach and appreciated the cart and chairs available. Beach was very nice and secluded and even caught a few fish from the shore! Great trip, great property!

Good Memories Made

Our family had a great time here, mainly just because we were together. It's advertised as three bedrooms but the third bedroom has bunk beds in it which weren't very practical for adults. Also in our Queen bedroom we never could watch YouTube TV like we were supposed to be able to. Some other families profiles were logged in there and the property manager never could fix that. If this fits with what you need it is a great place to stay.

David, I am glad you enjoyed your stay. For youtube, we have now put parental controls on the tvs so guest cannot log out of the complimentary streaming services. You should be good to go for any future stay! Thanks, Chris and Lasinda

Family Beach Getaway

Good location. Short walk to the beach. There were beach chairs and a fantastic beach cart available for use. The kitchen is very well stocked for cooking at home- huge pot for low country boil, plenty of dishes, silverwear, good knives, glasses etc. The bunk room is on the main level, the king and queen rooms are upstairs. Both decks very enjoyable - great breezes and view of the water. We felt like the quality of the linens could have been better - the towels provided were very small and light weight., the bed sheets also very light weight. We came across 2 pieces of broken glass in the carpet in the living room. The vertical blinds in both upstairs bedrooms had many slats missing- impossible to darken either room in the morning - if you like sleeping late - bring a sleep mask. Other cleanliness issues noted were: hair in the sheets of one of the bunks, trash under the queen bed, bathmat in king room wet at the time of check in. A few roaches were spotted in the main living area - so best to keep your food tightly closed or in the fridge. At the time of our check in on a saturday - the trashcan was curbside and overflowing - 4 bags on the ground. The property manager let herself in after we had arrived - (didn't like that), and said that trash would be taken care of. The trash on the ground was taken away on Monday, the trash can itself was picked up on the usual trash day - Tuesday and a second can was left. Our family of 7 did not even fill one can Tuesday - Saturday, so not sure what went on the week before we arrived. Be aware that although technically the house is in the eastern time zone - our smart phones kept ketting confused and flipping back and forth seemingly randomly between eastern and central time ( fyi you can override that feature on an iphone) The Ship Wreck raw bar next door is on central time. All this being said - we would definitely stay here again. Beach was fantastic. Love the area. Owners may want to address cleaning issues with management company and consider upgrading linens .

Awesome and clean

The house was super clean and nice. We had a daily visit from a bald eagle. The view was amazing. It was perfect for social distancing. A short walk to the beach. The beach was secluded and calm. We had a great time with our dog on the beach! A short ride down to Mexico beach where there were a few food trucks without outdoor seating. Overall a great vacation spot.

Fantastic family vacation home!

I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with this home! It was immaculate, so clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable! The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. The beds were SO COMFORTABLE! We slept so great the whole week. This is a perfect place for a large family or for a couple of families to stay together. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom which is a huge plus. You can see the ocean from both decks, the screened in porch was so peaceful and so nice to have dinner on. There is space down below the house that would be perfect if you have kids to bring scooters or skates. There is a grill and a dining area there as well as the dining area in the second level deck. It was just so accommodating and thoughtful the way everything was laid out and prepared. We had the best time with our 3 kids. They loved the bunk bed room and having their own TV. We will absolutely be back ASAP to stay in one of this hosts homes! Also this town is so beautiful, the most amazing white sandy beaches. So many restaurants to choose from between Mexico beach and port st joe. Not your typical vacation town as it is quiet and peaceful, which keeps us coming back year after year. Absolutely recommend staying in this home!
