Maple Valley Cabin is surrounded by 100 acres of woods in the Almaguin Highlands and affords you all of the comforts of home! This welcoming 2 bedroom, plus loft cabin is a restful retreat and is the perfect destination for families, for friends to reconnect or for romantic getaways. At Maple Valley Cabin, we know that dogs are a part of the family and they need vacations too. *We now have Starlink internet*.

Children will enjoy the outdoor play cabin structure with a sandbox and sand toys. Count the stars while roasting marshmallows around the outdoor fire pit. Enjoy nature trails through the woods for hiking, cross country skiing or snowshoeing! The kitchen, which has all new stainless steel appliances, will have you cooking to your heart's delight. Cozy up in the living room by the wood stove or relax in front of the Smart TV, while watching Netflix, Prime, Disney+, or one of the many DVD’s. Enjoy the selection of board games & outdoor games.

Maple Valley Cabin has a fantastic location! It is a short 5-10 minute drive from two child friendly beaches - Lake Bernard and Eagle Lake Narrows. The infamous Hockey Opportunity Camp is also only a short 5 minute drive away. Our cabin is one kilometre from OFSC (Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs) trails. Arrowhead Provincial Park is a wonderful day trip (approx. 35 minute drive) in all seasons - we especially enjoy the skating trail in winter months.

Things to know:
We supply the linens, including: dish cloths, bath towels, hand towels, and all of the bedding.
* Please bring your own beach towels*
There are Kcups for the Keurig (coffee, hot chocolate and tea).
Selection of oils, vinegars, herbs and spices.
Paper products are supplied - toilet paper, paper towels and napkins.
The freezer makes ice.
Water is tested regularly and is safe to drink.
*If you prefer not to drink tap water, please bring water of your choice*.
Firewood and kindling can be found beside the wood stove, as well as in the woodshed by the fire pit.

We rented this cottage for our annual snowmobile trip that we have been doing for over 20yrs. The hosts were one of the easiest and friendliest we have experienced. They were always quick to reply to any questions. The cottage is updated and beautifully decorated. This is the perfect place for a winter getaway. Snowmobile trail NN415 is a short ride down the road, and Sundridge is 15 min by sled. There was lots of room to park for our 3 trucks and trailers. We are already talking about returning next year.

The kitchen was well equipped for cooking every size meal you might want. There was a cozy atmosphere and the wood stove enhanced the atmosphere. The teenagers loved the skiing trails and tobogganing.

Overall, our stay was absolutely amazing! Can't think of a single thing that I would change or want differently. The cabin, as well as the property, was stunning, clean, and fun, with lots of games, including a cool dartboard. The host was very quick to reply to anything we needed!

Wonderful place and location. Very quiet and peaceful. Owners provided lots of amenities and welcome gifts. We made good use of the fire pit. The only negative thing i could say was the lack of a/c. Given that we were there during a heatwave, fans can only do so much. Even a portable ac unit would've been a huge relief in the cabin. Other than that minor discomfort, the place was amazing. Kitchen supplies and appliances were great.Thank you so much.

How wonderfully thoughtful the owners of this accommodation were.-We booked the home for the weekend for a snowmobile sledding getaway and were very appreciative of how easily  we were able to park 2 large size sled trailers/trucks in the driveway- this in itself was VERY helpful given we had 6 sleds to deal with. That was really only the beginning- when we got into the accommodations the rustic charm takes over- the home is very big and picturesque in itself with the log ceilings and walls- it feels very cozy and better yet boasts a wood fireplace with cut wood already supplied for you to get a fire started both for warmth and ambience.This was a great feature after being outside  all day for sure.Having 5 of us there  was no issue at all- the rooms are all spacious and clean- the bedrooms are very comfortable;- even our pup Chloe  was very well taken care of with 2 dog beds and blankets for her to choose from- she very much enjoyed lying in the sunshine from the window ever so content. The kitchen is also very thoughtfully stocked with things you may need/forget doing what amounts to a winter camping trip lolThe kitchen was stocked with spices, oils, salt pepper condiments  coffee pods -even dog treats were available!My son said more times than we can count how beautiful the place was and how he very much enjoyed staying their as well all did- this property rates very highly for all of us as a place to stay if you are in that area – be sure and look them up-

Perfect family getaway

We stayed 3 nights at Maple Valley Cabin and enjoyed every minute of it. The hosts are very responsive and gave us lots of recommendations for the area. The cabin is fully stocked with everything you may need and was exceptionally clean. Highly recommend this place and we hope to come back next year.

Perfect family meetup

We had the best long weekend at Maple Valley Cabin. The dogs, babies, toddlers and adults enjoyed all of the amenities. The hosts are extremely attentive as well! We will be back for sure!

Perfect cabin paradise

We stayed over thanksgiving weekend as a family. 6 adults 2 kids and 1 Bernese mountain dog. The cabin was perfect in every way. Spacious comfortable and decor was totally cabin chic! I adored every inch of it. The weather wasn’t great but the girls enjoyed the playground and we managed to fit in a fire outside. The rest of the time we enjoyed the wood stove inside and darts and other games. The kitchen was so well stocked I wanted to move in. We have other family claw by and this made a perfect base for us (coming from PEI and Toronto) All the little touches - the snack basket of treats and yummy wine - the scented soap - the lovely thick towels - rounded out a wonderful weekend. We will be back. Thanks so much.

LABOUR DAY WEEKEND 2023

We can't thank Janet, Kevin, Scott, Andrew, and Georgia enough for their hospitality. They provided all essentials, and all the little details made us feel right at home. My family enjoyed the beautiful trails with the atvs, dirt bikes, and the dogs loved the nature walks through the trails. Wonderful and cozy cabin

We stayed at Janet and Kevin's cabin over the civic day long weekend. It was a wonderful experience and our family made a ton of memories during this trip. Janet and Kevin welcomed us with a welcome basket and a lovely handwritten note. I loved the personal touches. This was a first cabin experience for our family and we felt right at home. The cabin is thoughtfully and beautifully decorated and is very very clean. The kitchen is stocked with everything you can possibly need. My 3 year old loved the sandbox and treehouse. We ate most of our meals in there :) Janet was very responsive to questions during our stay. There is a cabinet stocked with games and toys. We loved the campfire every night on the lovely red muskoka chairs. I felt like I was living inside a gingerbread house. Can't wait to be back!

Fantastic kid friendly get away

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful property for our summer vacation. The 5 of us were very comfortable. The home was clean and had all the features we needed. The hosts were easy to get a hold of and really helped us plan our activities with great knowledge of the area. The cabin comes with countless games and spaces to use both indoors and out. And the outdoor play house with a slide and sand box under are in great condition and safe for age appropriate children. This kept our 3 fully entertained while we unpacked or prepared meals. Though we did several day time outings we could easily have been fully entertained without leaving the property. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this location to any family looking for a relaxing getaway.

Fantastic 5-Star Family Getaway

We were looking to get out of the city for Family Day weekend, and we were hoping for a rustic winter getaway in the woods. When I booked this cabin, I was thinking we would be treated to a rustic retreat . I was drawn in by the description of the trails and the snowshoes, and the proximity to some local winter attractions like Arrowhead Provincial Park's skating trail. I got what I expected, but also so much more. This cabin is brimming with so many creature comforts and thoughtful extras, the hosts go above and beyond. When we arrived, there was a welcome basket with a sweet note and some goodies for our kids. Dog bowls had been put out for our pooch, and there were lovely soaps and toiletries in the bathroom. Everything was spotless and cozy, and the cabin had everything (from extra blankets to a fully stocked kitchen) you could ask for. We were delighted by the cabin and spent some time exploring the gorgeous local trails. It was also a short (1hr 15 min) drive to a local ski hill, Antoine Mountain, which was really fun and not too busy! Getting out there was great, but so was relaxing under a starry sky with the snow falling all around and a fire roaring in the fireplace. We played board games (crokinole!), we watched some shows, and we enjoyed winter to the max thanks to these amazing hosts. Thank you again for making our Family Day such a memorable adventure! We can't wait to visit again.

Maple Valley Cabin - Amazing Cabin In A Beautiful Setting

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and the pictures of Maple Valley Cabin are a true testament to the beauty of the cabin and surrounding property, however the ambiance that encompassed us while staying at this cabin was magical/true peace and tranquility!! Maybe these feeling were a reflection of the attention to detail that the hosts made, first class all the way!! If you had forgotten any of the basic necessities for cooking (there was butter in the fridge) or that lovely hot shower fear/stress not they had it covered. Tim’s coffee YIPPEE!! Ok even our dog was feeling special with a large dog bed beside the wood stove, which he thoroughly enjoyed after long adventures through the beautiful, wooded trails. We were lucky to have a couple of clear nights which allowed for amazing star gazing!! WE WILL BE BACK!! : )

Wonderful!

We stayed at Maple Valley Cabin for 6 days in mid-August with our family of four and dog. The cabin, property and hosts were excellent. The interior has the slightly rustic feel of a log cabin in the woods but impeccably decorated, maintained and equipped like a high end resort. The property is very private and quiet with lots of green space for dogs to run and play! Would be great for young kids too.

Perfect Cabin in the woods

Janet and Kevin have thought of everything you may need and placed it perfectly in this log home. From the furry throws to the pillowy dog bed …. There is everything you need and more. All the beds are super cozy and the firewood is plentiful. Having personal trails through the woods to walk with the dogs was amazing. Love to hear back in the fall or winter to enjoy all the seasons. Honestly the best cottage stay we ever had.

Stunning and serene

Wonderful property and hosts! We enjoyed a short, but lovely stay at Maple Valley Cabin. It is well appointed and offers everything guests need to enjoy their retreat. The property is picturesque and clean. Janet et al. were responsive and welcoming - and ensured we had everything we needed for creature comforts. The rooms are comfortable, the living room is spacious, and the kitchen is properly equipped. We were not concerned with the lodging at any time. Even our pet had what he needed to be his jolly self. I would go back again and again. Thank you for the memories - and we hope to come back soon :)
