Well-appointed and spacious Lake Whatcom vacation home in Sudden Valley Gate 1. Across the street from the public beach at Sofield Park and a short walk to the Sudden Valley golf course, this fully remodelled two-level home sleeps up to 8 and includes two TV/family rooms and spacious front and back decks. Preference will be given to families and adult groups.

Beautiful Lake Home on Whatcom lake

The home was perfect for our family stay in Bellingham. The kitchen was well stock with cooking utensils and pans. There was 2 living rooms so the 2 children could have there own tv. 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Beautiful balconys with nice comfortable furniture. The home was very clean. I would highly recommend this home for families.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. Super clean, very spacious, everything available to make your stay a good one. Location is in a beautiful neighborhood and neighbor to the right was extremely nosy and intrusive, but the VRBO host could not have been nicer to work with. Responded quickly and was very accommodating in every way. Will definitely return, just beautiful and every so comfy.

Beautiful home away from home!

From the moment we stepped into the bright and welcoming foyer, we knew our stay would be exceptional. The spacious bathrooms, living rooms, and balcony patio offered plenty of room for quiet moments of solitude as well as family gatherings. All areas of the home provided picturesque views of the lake and golf course. The kitchen supplied everything we needed to create a beautiful Thanksgiving dinner. In addition to the great features of the home, its location is only fifteen minutes away from major grocery stores. Thank you Sharon for the use of the rental and communication. I recommend this property for families.

Excellent home near Lake Whatcom

We moved our daughter into an apartment near WWU and this was the perfect place just outside town for us. House is well equipped and as listed, located in a quiet neighborhood very near Lake Whatcom and the golf course, owner’s communication was great, and is just 20 min from WWU and downtown Bellingham. Highly recommend and we look forward to staying here again when we come up visit.

Bellingham home

We were in town for just a few days for a family wedding. There were two couples and two singles in our group, so the four bedroom, three bath home was perfect. The neighborhood is a very nice lakeside property about 15 minutes from downtown Bellingham and had all the amenities we wanted and then some. The deer roaming the neighborhood was an added bonus. The home was well designed, and the furnishings were great. We couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodations.

Fantastic stay! The house was perfect for our family of 7. Bedroom, bath, living area downstairs and large living/dining area, well equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and 2 large decks upstairs, complete with plentiful beautiful deck furniture and 2 fire pits. Property is extremely well maintained and very clean. Owners were particularly responsive to questions and very helpful. It didn't hurt that the weather was Fantastic, too. This was The Nicest VRBO we've ever stayed in and would Definitely stay here again when back in Bellingham !

Perfect house for a family weekend

We rented the house for my daughter’s graduation weekend at WWU. It is even better than the pictures. With the decks and the downstairs, there’s plenty of room for people to mingle. The kitchen was well-equipped. There were deer everywhere. It’s a short walk to the shore. Very happy with our experience!

Whatcom Lake Wonder

Beautiful and very clean house! Well appointed with nice little touches such as coffee beans ready to ground, decaf tea, toiletries in case something was forgotten. Sharon the owner was very attentive to make sure we had everything we needed. We didn’t have time to enjoy all the amenities such as hot tub or deck fireplace but the beds and rooms were comfortable. Would stay here again! Thanks for sharing your house!

Beautiful weekend ,beautiful home

This was a perfect place for us and our grown children to stay while attending a wedding weekend on the lake.It had everything needed for cooking our breakfasts ,taking lovely walks and enjoying the decks.Having a great family room downstairs was great for the sports people to watch their games. I highly recommend!

Great house on the lake

We had a great stay on the lake. Sharon was very helpful through all stages from booking until we checked-out. It is a lovely house with great outdoor space on two decks. We had our family with ages 22 to 80, and we all enjoyed it. The marina is just a short walk as well as a pretty park on the shore. The swim beach is a short drive away. We would definitely try to return to this house for future trips.

Simply amazing place

Wonderfully appointed home in Sudden Valley

This was a wonderful property! From 4 bedrooms, to a fully stocked kitchen, to a great location just down the street from Sofield Park in Gate 1; I can't wait to stay here again! Sharon was very communicative, and even left a hand-written note for check-in. Very easy to access the home via keyless entry. Highly recommend for your next stay in Sudden Valley!

Great Family home

We enjoyed this house tremendously and would recommend it for families or some couples planning to enjoy the area for awhile. It is in a quiet development with plenty of mature trees and wildlife around you. It was spotless when we arrived and you could host a large gathering easily with two generous decks and plenty of upscale kitchen amenities. Two very comfortable sitting areas, one on each level and a gas burning stove and large TV in both. My family of 5 was very comfortable here and the hosts were incredibly responsive and detailed in their preparations before our arrival. I wouldn’t hesitate to rent this again!

Awesome location!

Comfortable and spacious. We had everything we needed and enjoyed the proximity to the lake, running/hiking trails, and town. The neighborhood market was well stocked. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful lake property

We had a wonderful time enjoying the snow at this beautiful property located within walking distance of Lake Whatcom. We went last minute because of the need to cancel our holiday travel (Omicron + unvaccinated 3 year old). It snowed the night before we left. What a beautiful place to spend three nights in a winter wonderland! The host had shoveled the driveway and left the fireplaces on for our arrival. We were able to play in snow and snuggle up on the large sectional sofa in front of the gas fireplace for three days. Deer wandered through the neighborhood. It was idyllic. The host updated us via text and was flexible and kind. I was very sad to leave!

This year we decided to selectively rent out our cottage so other family's can hopefully appreciate our warm and comfortable summer home and beautiful Lake Whatcom. We live a short distance away so we always keep our home and yard clean and very well maintained. If you think this might be your next Spring, Summer, or Fall vacation rental we'd be happy to tell you more about our home, the great amenities around Sudden Valley and beautiful Lake Whatcom.

If you like cottage life, a great beach, a beautiful golf course, or boating around Lake Whatcom, then our home is right for you! Since we bought the property in 2009 we have completely renovated our summer house, inside and out, along with landscaping the property. You'll love the huge front and back decks, so you can chase the sun, or avoid it, depending on your preference. Our front deck is the ideal place to be late afternoons and evenings with a gas-burning fire pit and tons of comfy seating. On the back deck you'll find two propane bbq's and a patio area that seats 8 or more, a great place to enjoy a summer meal!

We are just across the street from the lake and a great public beach and a short drive or walk to the clubhouse at the Sudden Valley golf course.
